Xiao has been a full time freelance content creator for almost a decade and started her writing career with the home improvement niche. As an independent writer and reporter, she contributes to various publications and stations including Kansas City’s NPR station, KCUR. For the past five years, she has been volunteering with Kansas City’s Habitat for Humanity as a home builder. She loves to share her construction knowledge, design inspirations, home efficiency improvement tips, and latest industry trends with the world.
Xiao is also a practicing visual artist with substantial woodshop experience who has exhibited nationally and internationally. As a mixed media artist, she has an unyielding passion for innovative materials and sustainable practices. In her free time, she enjoys tending to her back yard garden and turning her home into a more efficient art factory.
