"What a roller coaster. As of the time I am typing this, my wife is a couple hours from being induced into labor. We wanted this project done so she could labor at home in a new tub, and new bathroom. One of the main selling factors was the time. ReBath would GC and it would take 9 days. That was the reason we went with them. It was a little weird having to coordinate our own electrical, but we got it sorted. Wasn’t exactly something ReBath was keen on accommodating at first, but I don’t have time for that story right now. Fast forward to the project. Given my wife’s pregnancy and the fact that we have 3 dogs, we thought it would be a good idea to get an Airbnb for the project. We stayed in an Airbnb in town for 6 days, thinking that would be the bulk of the project. Cost us an extra 1,600 bucks. The project started on Friday 8/11. It just “finished” last night, 9/6, after the painter spent 11 hours in our home to get it done. (Three coats including primer in one day?) 26 days. Nearly 3 times the promised timeframe. The room wasn’t cleaned, so I woke up early today to throw away the garbage the workers left, to mop and dust and shop vac, to put electrical covers on, and to get the room ready to move our stuff back in so our house can be somewhat ready for our new baby. The final straw was last night at about 7:30pm. This project taking so long, our stuff being all over the house, and the general state of unpreparedness we are in for our baby because of the extended work caused my wife to break down into tears last night. I had to sit there for almost an hour and comfort her because if she gets induced our baby’s crib is full of bathroom stuff. I had to watch my wife bawling because of the stress, and this wasn’t even the first time. She wanted a home birth, but they have strict blood pressure guidelines. What do you think a project like this does to a pregnant woman’s blood pressure? And the work isn’t even that great. They overextended a half wall that they had to build, which they then had to correct. Now the wall is visibly curved and the floor bounces underneath the spot they corrected because it wasn’t floated properly. They didn’t remove some plaster because the “insulation would fall”, except that there is lath underneath. This created an issue with our bathroom fan. I had to shop vac a bunch of junk out of the walls so it wouldn’t get left behind there when they dry walled. The painter decided it would be good for him to visit on a Sunday morning, which we felt obligated to accommodate because the project had already been delayed. The painter somehow got my number, even though all communication had been going through my wife, and my number was not in rebaths system. We still don’t know how he got it, or why he thought calling me was better than continuing to work with my wife. So watching my wife absolutely in bits over the stress of this, for talking so long, for doing mediocre work - that was the last straw. I DO NOT recommend this company. I will be reaching out to the CCB. I want that half wall fixed so it doesn’t annoy me every time I walk past it, but I will not allow this company back into my home. They will pay the bill for another contractor of my choosing to fix the wall. And that’s that. Edit: The painting is garbage too. They didn’t tape anything off, just hand painted the trim. It is uneven as can be. There’s spot of paint all over our brand new floors. This company should be ashamed."

"I have been waiting for a project to begin for over 90 days (getting my studying replaced because of vermin burrows), and communication from them to me is virtually non-existent. No one can l in their customer service can tell me the terms of my contract for leaving it to go to a company that cares about communication and timing. I was told when I signed up that I had to right then to lock in prices and that the color of siding I originally wanted wasn't in stock, so I selected another. Apparently, that one wasn't in stock either because it's been on order for months. I would have considered picking something in stock so I can work to keeping rodents out of my house, but I couldn't even suggest that because there hasn't been anyone calling me, and my weekly requests for a callback fall on deaf ears. Completely unprofessional and bordering scandalous with how much I have to keep paying Orkin and working on rotating rat traps. Follow up; In an effort to make things right, DaBella offered a discount, or willing to also re-side my shed. I went with also having my shed done. Follow up two; The siding project began Monday the 20th of January, and on the 24th, they put the project on pause while waiting for additional parts to be ordered. It is now the 11th of February, and no further work has been done. For two and a half weeks, my driveway has been full of supplies and a port-a-potty and construction dumpster sitting in my street with no indication of when this project will be finished. Follow up three; It is now the 25th of February. No contact from DaBella, no progress done on my house. Tarps for blown off in the second to last storm. Follow up four; The automated response to this review suggests I call a support number that takes me to the same impotent call center that cannot give me updates, or have anyone call me back. Call center will not provide me either their mailing address or CCB license number for me to file a pre-30 day notice of complaint with the Oregon State Board of Contractors for negligence and breach of contract."

"I DO NOT recommend this company. The technician that came was very nice but it was his first day alone. He did not know how to remove the shower handle and in the process broke the handle and the valve (and also broke the drain when he removed it as well). Water shot out of the broken valve and he then flooded my second story bathroom and the kitchen below. He did not know where the water shut off valve was located. It caused over $5000.00 worth of damage to my house. I understand that accidents happen, but the owner was not at all responsive and actually never came to my house to talk with me or assess the damage but sent his manager instead. He never contacted me I had to contact him, multiple times. He drug his feet on getting insurance involved and over a month later I still have a completely gutted bathroom and a giant hole in my kitchen ceiling. And with all of this trouble and headache and time this accident on their behalf caused me, he wouldn't even offer to do the bathtub resurface for me. He recommended another company. At this point, I do too. Horrible customer service. We had it redone by another company who was quick and fantastic."

"We ordered a Covana SwimSpa cover back in July or August of 2021. They finally received the product from the manufacturer in March of this year. When the installation team came to put it all together they realized that the person who had placed the order with the manufacturer had missed the fact that the cover was slightly too large to make a proper seal. The installation guys, who were great by the way, said they would work with All Spa to get is sorted out (new parts to make it work). Anyway, it's been a month and the thing is still sitting half assembled in my yard. Keep in mind that this is a $10K cover left partially assembled and covered in a tarp. I've made 5 inquiries via phone to All Spa to at least get a status update but have yet to respond. It really just speaks to a major lack of professionalism to not even have the decency to let us know the status of what is going on. I don't usually leave reviews like this but I think that this certainly warrants a 1 star review."

The cost to refinish a bathtub is $490 for most homeowners. However, this cost can range from $200 to $1,000 or more, depending on your tub's material and condition. 

For example, enamel and cast-iron bathtubs are pretty straightforward to refinish, costing between $350 and $600. However, if you have an antique claw-foot tub, you can expect to pay between $500 and $1,200 for refinishing costs due to the care and complexity needed.

For a standard-sized bathtub with minor damage, it takes approximately 3 to 5 hours to refinish. It might take a bit longer if your bathtub refinishing contractor needs to fill in significant cracks or gouges. This is the same if you have a specialty tub, like an oversized bathtub—you can expect your pro to take a bit on the longer side.

If your bathtub is in overall good shape with minor scratches, discoloration, or just general wear and tear, it's best (and less expensive) to refinish it. 

If your tub has large cracks, is leaking, or is otherwise severely damaged, we recommend replacing it with a new bathtub. Refinishing a bathtub can only fix superficial problems, so these issues will still be present or reappear after a refinishing.

There are a few signs, both obvious and not so obvious, that it's time to refinish your bathtub. While some of these signs aren't an urgent problem, others could lead to significant damage if left untreated. Signs you should look out for include:

  • Rust stains, which signal the tub's enamel or surface sealer is deteriorating 

  • Small chips, which can grow into larger chunks and can lead to rusting

  • Discoloration, which doesn't lead to a more significant problem but can be unsightly 

  • Dirty surfaces, which means that the tub glaze is breaking down and allowing dirt to seep below the coating

Refinishing a bathtub is worth it if your tub has minor damage or is a color that you don't like. The cost of replacing a bathtub is more expensive than simply refinishing one, averaging around $5,300. It's more cost-effective to refinish your tub if you can, but it also gives you the look of a new bathtub without having to replace the whole thing.
