The company called me in the morning offering a cleaning and inspection for $89.95. They came in the afternoon and were courteous and professional. After his inspection the technician informed me that we need a new flue liner (something I was aware of). However I told him that we weren't in a position to have that done. I felt that the technician was a little frustrated with me and wondered if he receives a commission for all of the liners he sells. The next morning we did not have any hot water. I had to call the oil company to check the furnace. It turns out the technician had turned off the oil burner. So now the $89.95 cleaning is going to cost me twice that.
Description of Work: Furnace Flue was cleaned.

I felt safe because he said he was a member of Angie's List and the BBB. I felt this was a responsible business. He asked to check the boiler. He stated that it was a courtesy for all calls. After checking the boiler he came to me and said it was an emergency situation. He also told me that he was going to repair my chimney. He said he sealed the crown of the fireplace and patched where the stone fell off. He charged me $300 for that. I have a granddaughter that is on the oxygen and did not want the seal to cause her any problems. I told him I did not want the seal and he said he already had the technician on the roof put it in. I went to file the receipt in my filing cabinet in the folder that I made for this service and my card was missing. I called the credit card company to report it and they had to cancel my card. I called to let the company know and I had to leave a message. It was probably 5 minutes and the man was at my door very angry.
Description of Work: As soon as he came in he immediately asked me how I heat my house. I told him I use a boiler. He then asked to check the boiler. He checked the boiler and said I had an emergency situation, that carbon monoxide was leaking in my home. He said that rocks and stone dust was falling from my chimney into the boiler causing considerable damage. He installed a long metal pipe in my chimney and connected one to my boiler. He also sealed the rocks he said was missing from my chimney. He offered to put a chemical in my chimney to avoid water damage. I told him I did not want the chemical put in my chimney because my grand daughter is on 24 oxygen and I was not going to pay for it. He said he would have to eat the cost. I followed him to his truck and he said he already did it. He said he already told the technician on the roof to put the chemical down my chimney. When he gave me my receipt he did not put the expense for the chemical. I asked him why. He said that he couldn't because his boss would want to know why there is no charge.
