You'll get a better product for less money. With windows it's all about heat loss and they measure that with what they call a U-Factor, the lower the number the better. Being a PUD approved contractor they require a U-Factor of .30. We can get that number down to a .21 for open windows and .18 for non opening windows. A third better but does not cost a third more. And if you live where there is a lot of noise it will almost eliminate it coming through the windows!

"This review is long overdue in my praise of Washington Energy Services for their customer service, pricing and workmanship ! My first interaction was in 1999 when they installed windows throughout my house. They are still in excellent condition. I might note I called them over 20 years later to inquire on how I could repair a broken slider and they sent someone right out, charging a very nominal amount to repair it. In 2020, I needed to replace my hot water tank, and the extremely knowledgeable Christy presented several options, answering my many questions. I settled on one with a booster that seemed to best fit my needs. Finally, in December 2023, I purchased a new gas furnace from WES. I had a minor issue with a fan switch and they responded quickly to rectify the situation. Within the past two months, I seemed to be having an issue with my thermostat (something they had not installed), and the manager, Greg, came out twice with his crew to explore the problem. Today they installed a new thermostat FREE OF CHARGE! Their excellent response and customer service is beyond any company I have hired. And I particularly love that they are family owned and have been around for decades. Their employees seem to be there for the long haul, which speaks highly of the owner. I refer all my friends and family and I won't go anywhere else for services that they offer. Many thanks to the staff I have interacted with over the past 25 years!"

Bob's experience came in handy when there were issues getting my sliding glass door into place, due to my residence being roughly 50 years old; which still had the the original, single pane, metal frame windows & slider door. If there were any issues with the same old type of windows which were replaced, I didn't know it because everything went so smoothly. Bob knew exactly how to quickly fix any issues, and his entire crew ran like a well oiled machine. The crew were extremely efficient. plus they went above and beyond; making sure the window glass and frames were cleaned and they vacuumed up the little bits of debris created when taking out the old metal framed windows and they took the old windows/door with them when they left for safe disposal. However, if you have a deteriorating window frame or major leaks, buying a new window will be the better long-term solution.
The average cost to install a door is around $1,100, but you could pay anywhere from $150 for a hollow-core interior door installation up to $2,000 or a high-end exterior door installation. There are a few cost factors to consider to get an accurate price, including whether your wall opening exists, the type of door, the quality and security of the door, whether you need to replace the frame, and the door size. You can expect to pay $150 to $700 for a standard 36-by-80-inch door and between $400 and $1,600 for an 80-by-48-inch door.
Door installation usually takes three and four hours, including removing the old door and frame, fitting the new door and frame in place, shimming it to make sure it’s perfectly level, and making adjustments to the hinges and locking mechanisms to ensure proper functionality. A door-hanging professional can replace an interior door in between one and two hours. Door installation will take significantly longer if your installer needs to create a wall opening, and it can take less time if the existing door frame remains.

It’s possible to install a door yourself if the wall opening already exists, but the work is rather complicated, and a professional installation is usually well worth the investment. For your door to work and close properly, you’ll need to shim and level the door frame in your wall perfectly, which can be difficult.
