Phil's quote was the lowest and included substantial repair of the original deck before installing the composite. The other two quotes said the original deck was good enough (which it wasn't). Craftsman's team did an excellent job and I ended up with a much better deck than what the other two contractors would have provided. My only complaint with Craftsman is the excessive amount of time that elapsed from when I signed the contract (May, expecting the deck be completed in July) to when the job actually was started (Dec., and finished early Jan.) and with the lack of accurate reasons for the delays. I strongly suggest you include in the contract the agreed to completion date required for the job to be done. Bottom Line: I would definitely use Phil again due to his very competitive pricing, knowledge, and excellent craftmanship. I would also insure that the required completion date is specified in the contract, with options if not met."
