Mark Frillici and his crew went right to work and did a very thorough job of removing the mold in my basement. It looks wonderful. I am very pleased with the job and the cleanup they did. I would definitely hire Healthy Spaces again!

There was some issues that I had to address with the individual. There was definitely room for improvement but he was above average. Things that could be improved was maybe time management. It took longer than I think he expected. He may have been good at what he did but he was a terrible businessman. The paperwork was just, I guess that is the part of doing it all. Just the paperwork. The business part of it, I don't think he was trying to cheat me or anything like that. He just did not seem to know what he was doing. I had to kinda guide him through the paperwork. After the fact, he was too casual with it but part of that is my fault. I should have demanded more specific in the contract, he was too general in the contract. There was too much room for play, for a lack of a better expression. That bothered me as we were doing it. He should have been more specific for all parties involved for protection. When you are talking thousands of dollars from my perspective as a customer

Despite the storm or 2017, this company scheduled us within a couple days of the consultation and even with the power outage and heat outage they completed the job within a week. I sold the house the day after they completed the work!!

Mark and his team were very courteous and prompt each day of the project. They laid mats to protect my floor and, outside of the jackhammering on the first day, I could hardly hear them working. He also did a walk around the house and pointed out what needed to be done to help lessen the water. I am happy to say that the new system (and pump) they installed has worked perfectly - have not had any occurrence of water issues since. Definitely would rehire them again!
Description of Work: I contacted Mark at Healthy Spaces to come and inspect my basement for water (and possible mold) issues. He came out and gave me an estimate for both adding a new drainage system around the perimeter of the basement slab as well as the mold treatment. He was very detailed in explaining the steps they would go through with the new system.

It was not good. What I didn't like was that the sump pump they put in failed quite quickly. It was not working correctly right from the time they installed it. They never returned phone calls to come back and fix it. The pump failed right away. The rest of the stuff was okay. They were punctual when they did the job.

The sump-pump that we installed was brand new and working properly. The power for the sump-pump (that we were direct to use) was faulty, and we pointed it out to the homeowner (it keep tripping the breaker) we did instruct them to call a qualified electrician. This was the cause of the failure. We did return twice to there home upon there request, it still had not been looked at by an electrician. We think it was due to being on the same circuit as another appliance that would cause it to blow when in use.

Went very well overall. I'm very satisfied. Mike, the owner, was always 10 or 15 minutes late, but that's minor in the grand scheme of things. The materials they removed from my basement walls were mine to dispose of, which was a surprise. But, the contract did say "removal", not "disposal" - so that's my fault. They obviously know what they're doing, they do what they say, and there were no hidden costs. The quote was exactly what I paid. I'd use them again, and I'd recommend them to my friends and family.

I recently purchased a home, and after almost 2 years, I discovered there was a hidden mold problem causing me health problems. Healthy Spaces was one of three companies I called to help locate and treat the problem as soon as possible. Of the three companies, Healthy Spaces gave me the most intuitive and comprehensive plan of attack and Mark was amazingly thorough and walked me through his plan so that I completely understood the problem and proposed treatment. I am so glad I went with his company. They fit me into their busy schedule, came on time and worked without stopping for a whole day. He and his assistant were personable, knowledgeable, efficient and tidy. The mold they found when removing two walls of new paneling was disgusting but they had it removed quickly and applied several treatments to that area and also to my laundry and even the ceilings and sump pump areas. Additionally, Mark made a suggestion about controlling the condensation issue which probably saved me another $5,000 or more. I am a very happy customer and would highly recommend Healthy Spaces.

After recently purchasing a home (built in 1992), I was quite distressed to one day enter my basement and find a babbling brook shooting from one of the walls. I contacted Healthy Spaces to try to determine the cause and discuss possible remedies. After doing a walk around of the house perimeter Bob determined a few areas (such as a flower bed and a sidewalk split from the house) that could be contributing to excess water gathering/leaking into the basement. In the Basement, Bob explained that over years the probable cause was that the drainage pipes put in when the house were built were possibly crushed/caving and / or filled with silt. After walking the basement he isolated the areas that seemed to be most impacted. We discussed a few "potential" areas that he explained were impacted, but not as much, so I could, if I wanted risk not doing them. Given the efficiencies of doing such a job at one sitting, I elected to fix everything that needed fixing. He explained everything in such a way that I understood the problem/remedy. He provided me a quote that day for all the work and offered me time to make the decision. I elected to contract for the work that day. They were able to schedule the work to begin approximately 3 weeks later (earlier than expected). It was estimated the job would take 3-4 days; it took 3. The team showed up on time (or a little early) each day and began work immediately. Everyone was kind and courteous. Most impressive (to me) was how clean they left the environment. They went to great lengths to contain the dust/particles from going throughout the house. They vacuumed each night before leaving and actually left the basement cleaner than when they came in. The work done looks incredible. I'm now not dreading the next monsoon.
Description of Work: Removed a babbling brook from my basement. Began by removing concrete around approx 140 linear ft area in basement. Lined the resulting trench w/fabric, stone around new piping run to the existing crock and installed new sump pump. Re-poured concrete. Additionally, dug up concrete outside that has separated to such a degree it was creating perfect environment to feed the basement with water.

My experience with them went fine. The only issue that we ended up was that they did leave behind some stains with quite a bit of dirt in our basement carpets. But that was easy enough to clean. They were just a little bit of less careful than they should have been. Overall, their work was solid and took as much time as they said it would. They did a great job overall. Their price was decent and they were one of the few that actually used the solution to kill molds.

We had some water seeping on to the floor from behind the walls in a couple of locations from time to time in our finished basement. When we removed some of the heavy vinyl wallpaper to paint the room, we could see that we had a significant mold and moisture problem that had been hidden. I chose Healthy Spaces Mold Mitigation because I wanted to be sure that the existing mold was taken care of properly and that the installation of the new drain system and sump pump would prevent future moisture problems. Mark Frillici presented me with a detailed plan that included everything that he planned to do, reasons for his approach along with photos of his work and samples of the materials he would use. Mark is an excellent communicator and spent a considerable amount of time answering my many questions. He always followed through on time with his plans. He contacted local inspectors and arranged for visits during the work and sent me daily updates and photos of the progress being made. When an unsafe wiring problem was uncovered behind the walls, Mark notified me and advised me what needed to be done to correct this unsafe situation. The entire job was completed in the estimated time period. It was a pleasure to work with Mark Frillici. The basement is dry and looks great. I am very pleased with the work done and highly recommend Healthy Spaces Mold Mitigation at 585-755-6332 or www.healthyspaces.com .
Description of Work: We had considerable issues with water in a finished part of the basement and got estimates from several contractors. Mark Frillici provided a very specific plan of action and presented photos and details to explain what he would do, how he would do it and why. The job included removal of two finished walls, concrete, etc. along interior perimeter; excavation of a filter lined trench, installation of stone, filter-wrapped perforated pipe and sump-pump; attaching new system to discharge; draining cement block; thorough removal of mold from cement block walls; application of 2 coats of moisture barrier paint; rebuild and restore walls and space ready for painting

They were very organized and thorough. Mark showed us a slide show of their process when he came to look at the job and provide an estimate. The town has proven to be quite an obstacle in the whole process. Mark and Bob were much more patient with the inspector than I would have been if I had been there. The inspector bordered on harrassment as far as I am concerned. Much too much trouble for a sump pump!!! The drainage system went in in two days which was amazing, the crew started by 8am each day and worked until the goals were reached each day. The walls have proven to be another story. Once the water was pumped out, the ground was so saturated because we had 12" of snowmelt and 1-2" of rain on top of it, the walls were soaked and they were unable to paint the dryloc on the walls at the time they were ready to do so. Now we have to wait for the walls to dry in order to finish the painting. That concerns me a little because whats going to happen to the walls once the dryloc is on? There will be no place for the water to go once the blocks are saturated. I guess we'll see over the long haul.

Mrs. (Member name removed), It was a pleasure working for you and we are glad you are satisfied. One your walls dry and the drylok is applied the water will divert in to your newly in stalled drain system and eventually make it to you sump-pump. Once the drylok cure's it creates a shell and retains the water behind the block.

, and resolve that issueOn the day of service, he sprayed and treated the black mold and concrete masonry wall, 3 times. I had freshly re-painted my laundry room floor that week. I noticed his mold removal chemicals, had bubbled my floor paint. He said it would go down and be fine. It wasn't when I water-proofed and painted the masonry wall myself, (which was what I planned to do all along) as I peeled the painter tape off the floor, it peeled the the floor paint off. I called Mark, he came back and it was then that I learned, that he used a penetrant on the mold removal chemical, thats why is bubbled the paint, and that he did not water-proof the masonry wall, he just sprayed for mold, of which I thought he agreed to waterproof it as well. I was not happy with that fact.as I was sure I had told him to waterproof it. He did wind up giving me $50 bucks back for the floor. I felt he was careless how he treated my floor, and I felt he was not doing what we had talked about. He is a nice guy and understands his field, but I feel for what he did, he was over paid. I had previously hooked him up with a bigger job across the street at my neighbors house, and all in all, he threw me a $100 discount along with the $50 discount for damaging my floor and my total cost was $500. I can live with that, but I was not a happy camper to totally re-paint my floor again, and scrape all the damaged areas, on my hands and knees. I would use him again, but I'd negotiate him way down for future work if I had to hire him, he's not a deal.He had also left a ventilation pump fan in my house, he I called him to remove it, and he informed he would come on a certain date and time, and he never came to get his stuff. I was not happy he never called me to tell me he wasn't coming, I had other things to do that day. I called him again, and also stated, I was not please with what the product did to my floor, he showed right up to address that and resolve that issue-which was a fair resolution I accepted. As far as the mold remediation, I am thrilled of what the chemical did, and how fast it killed it, and sealed the mold at the same time, it was impressive. I feel much better that knowing I don't have dangerous mold that can hurt me or my family in anyway. that component of the projection was done with my complete satisfaction.
Description of Work: I had some black mold, behind my washer and dryer in my laundry room. I also had some water leakage that went through my masonry wall, on the lowest brick, closest to the floor. I asked Mark, to tell me what he could do for both. Inititally he spoke about how he would treat the black mold and showed me a video on his Ipad, of how he sprays it, kills it and seals it, in 1 step. We then spoke about the water leakage, and here is where I feel he didn't listen to me,he said he could do that too, and I was talking about waterproofing, not mold remediation on the concrete. He gave me a price of $650-he said his lowest amount. I thought that was high, but since I didn't want to mess with black mold, and I have respiratory issues, I agreed to it.

Mark was called to investigate the problem. He was professional from the beginning to end. He described the problem and recommended solutions. In addition, he stopped by to take a look at another issue regarding water damage and mold. The total charge for professional advice was $0.00. This gentleman was genuinely sincere about his work and concern for his customer. Being a professional procurer of goods and services I cross referenced most of his information with the EPA website on mold treatment and he was dead on. (A Lowes customer service rep told me to use bleach which was poor advice.) The only reason Mark was not hired to do the job was because my wife and father-in-law decided to save the labor charge by us performing the work. He was a housing contractor at one time. I wish Mark the best of luck and give him an A+.

Removed header insulation and sprayed anti-mold solution on all basement walls. Brushed walls and washed down. Applied two coats of water sealer. Mark Fracilli and his assistant were terrific to work with. They were prompt and very responsive to questions. His suggestions were the most appropriate of the three contractors who I had visited the site and given a quote. For what he did, his price was very fair, especially compared with the others - who either underestimated the work or over-valued the cost. The job completion was on time and the space was left perfectly clean. I've had many contractors working on this home over the past 40 years and without a doubt Mark gets an A+. Seth A. Borg

It was a small job, mold inside a closet which was a build-out over a concrete garage. He decided it was caused by moisture rising from the curing concrete, to be remediated by covering the concrete with plastic and venting the area above. He re-insulated the closet wall at our request, which probably was not necessary. It took about four hours. How did it go? Time will tell. If mold comes back, then I will update this review. Until then, we are very satisfied.
Description of Work: Made an appointment to provide an estimate. Arrived promptly and scoped out the problem, determining the cause (not what we thought it was). Returned with a helper promptly on the agreed-upon date to do the work. Cleaned the area of mold, provided venting underneath the area, and re-insulated the wall.
