"They charge a $59 service fee, which would be reasonable if it were an indication of their pricing. Their low fee is a deceptive practice to get them in your home where they hit you with an exorbitant quote for doing the work requested. They know no one in their right mind would pay their base prices, so they have to rely on deception to drum up business. The owner will say, "every job is different" but he won't acknowledge that if he gives people an indication of his prices he'd never make the initial $59 dollars to begin with. I had a simple dishwasher install that I was struggling to do myself because of arthritis. They wanted $600 to hook up water, drainage, and connect three color coded electrical wires. Refused to budge on price, so I refused service. Then demanded the $59 service fee because he was an "expert" that came out and evaluated everything. In his "expert evaluation" he missed some corrosion on the copper water line that required me to replace it anyway. I would stay away from these crooks."

"Ever since Bloomfield Cooling, Heating & Electric replaced a 5-year-old furnace that had been improperly installed by another contractor, we have relied on this North Jersey HVAC contractor for all our heating & cooling maintenance needs. Not only is the team responsive, polite, and professional, they have a great understanding of the latest HVAC technology and always recommend the best equipment. I recently had the company replace my downstairs HVAC system under the Carrier Cool Cash and PSEG Instant Rebates programs. "Short version: Professionalism, competency, and integrity is what you can expect from RJK. When our AC stopped working, another company came out to investigate and we were quoted an outrageous temporary repair cost and were advised to replace the whole system. We called RJK and they called back almost immediately. Upon arriving, they advised that a whole system replacement would be unnecessary for starters. But before even doing that, they wanted to have their techs double check that the system was truly in need of any replacement. Turns out the fix was straightforward and within 30 minutes the system was repaired at a fraction of the cost of the original contractor's quoted repair cost and definitely cheaper than a whole new system."

Although heating oil prices will fluctuate, it’s best to avoid purchasing between September and April, as that's the peak season for heating oil demand.
Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.
