"I recently had a disappointing experience with GreenPest management company. A sales representative pressured me into signing a one-year contract by stating that he needed to secure one customer that day. Feeling cornered, I agreed to the contract, trusting the sales guy professionalism. However, after the first service, I decided to cancel the service. I was shocked when I was informed that the cancellation fee would be $250, despite having been told initially that the service fee was $100. The customer service agent was rude and he got furious after he heard about cancellation and determined to get 250$ from me. The entire experience has left me feeling deceived and frustrated. I would caution others about the company shady practices and be wary of high-pressure sales tactics. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend GreenPest company and suggest seeking pest control services from a more transparent and customer-friendly provider."

"I had my initial treatment for general pest control as well as mosquito & tick treatment scheduled for Wednesday, 4/28. On Wednesday the tech came out as scheduled as well as a termite inspector. The general pest treatment was done but the mosquito & tick treatment was not. I did not realize this until I received the inspection report the following morning. When I called to inquire as to why it was not performed I was told that the mosquito & tick treatment had been rescheduled to 9am on Friday, 4/30. I was told it might have been due to the weather on 4/28 however it is even documented on my treatment summary that the day was clear with very low wind. In addition I was a little confused as to why I was never informed that the service had been rescheduled. Yesterday I called twice to confirm that a tech would be out this morning however today at 12:15pm when no one had shown up and I had heard nothing I called again. I was told by the person who took my call that they spoke to the service manager and that they would still be out today. I was told that they would be calling me soon to give me an updated time. Nearly 2 hours later I still had not received any call and no tech had arrived so I called again. This time the woman I spoke to said that they probably are not able to perform the service today due to wind and therefore would have to reschedule. Why was I not contacted and told that or at the very least informed of that when I called at 12:15pm? I have now wasted my entire morning and afternoon waiting on them to arrive. I am extremely disappointed in the inconsideration and unprofessionalism to not bother to notify customers when there are changes. As a new customer it makes me very worried that I made the wrong choice in choosing service through them especially after also agreeing to install a termite prevention system with them as well. I really hope that they prove otherwise!"

Different pest control methods exist to help mitigate an infestation. Not every technique will work with every pest, which is why speaking with a pest control expert is crucial to taming your problem. Different methods of pest removal include:
Heat treatments
Freezing treatments
Traps
Barriers
Chemical pesticides
Fumigation
Rodenticides
Mechanical devices
Repellants
The cost of pest control is $175 for the average homeowner. However, you could spend as little as $100 or as much as $500 or more, depending on the infestation size, the number of visits you need, and the pest you’re exterminating.
For example, if you need to rid your home of spiders, you’ll likely be spending between $100 and $300. However, if you have a termite problem, you can expect a bill of $230 to $2,500 or more, depending on the infestation size and damage caused.
There are specific methods for pest removal that you can DIY without hiring an expert. If you are preventing pests from making an appearance or clearing out a small infestation of harmless insects, you will likely have success on your own. However, if you’re dealing with pests that eat wood, bedbugs, or other pests that carry a disease risk, like rodents, it’s always worth it to call a pest professional to help you.
Even if you’re not immediately showing signs of pests, it’s a good idea to get into the habit of routine pest control. This should be done yearly, quarterly, bi-monthly, or monthly, depending on your location and if any signs of infestation are already present. For example, if you live by water, you might experience more pests in the spring and summer than someone who lives in a dry climate. Discuss treatment options with your pest professional to determine a suitable schedule for you and your home.
While not every infestation is preventable, there are some actions you can take to minimize the risk of running into these pests in your home. These actions include:
Keeping your home tidy. This includes vacuuming regularly, sanitizing your kitchen, storing food in airtight containers, disposing garbage regularly, and keeping your home clutter-free.
Deep clean at least twice a year. Deep cleaning neglected crevices and corners of your home can help prevent breeding grounds from forming.
Repairing your home when needed. If your home has cracks or holes, you have an open invitation for pests to come in. Remove any standing water and seal any gaps in your floors, walls, and foundation.
Cleaning up your yard. Keep shrubbery and branches well-trimmed and away from your home. Remove fallen leaves and other debris.
Be smart with storage. If you use firewood, store it away from the home (at least 20 feet away if possible) and off of the ground.
