Pierce Plumbing and HVAC, with over a decade and a half (15 years now) of trusted service, proudly offers comprehensive plumbing, heating, HVAC, and electrical solutions to homeowners and businesses in the Leominster and Worcester County areas.
"Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with them especially the owner. He schedules time to meet at 12 to review my project to add gas line. He never showed up. I arrived at 12:03 to meet him at the property and called the company to follow-up if they were on the way. He said he arrived at 11:50 and waited 5 minutes and left. When asked why he left so early and didn't even give curtousy of a 5 to 10 minute wait. He said he doesn't wait any time if he gets there early it's my problem I wasn't there even though we had scheduled for noon. He was so rude and said he gives no one curtousy to wait any minute and can't turn back around. In my opinion he never went to my house and lied and was rude. I told him I didn't need his business because if that's how he treats potential clients I can only imagine the type of service he will provide. Very RUDE, unprofessional and someone I don't recommend doing business with."

"Found this company from someone's recommendation, now really bad recommendation! Anyway, had sinks backing up - something plugged some place. I was actually out of town, so wife dealing with this situation. Date was August 15, 2018. 1st guy came out, looked good, but next day same situation. A very GOOD tech came out who fixed it, we thought. No issue with them coming back out - which was good. Then on 11/5 had new town water meter installed. After install, need to run water from upstairs tub/shower. After a few minutes while I was down in the cellar, water starts coming through the celling! Run upstairs and sinks on 1st floor were overflowing. Shutoff tub, call Mill Town. So for 3rd time they came right out (again good) - asked for same good tech, got him. He fixed, best he could but (this time) put blame on some drain pipe in cellar being too small? They did not charge extra, but said this was last free time for this issue. For this service original date was 8/15/18 and 8/16/18 and wife was charged $287.50. Not sure fair or bad price. So now we are going to have both gas range and dishwasher replaced. Call Mill Town to assist, and also asked for insinkerator (garbage disposal) install, as we had recently changed from septic to in-town sewer. Date was scheduled for afternoon of Wed 11/14, as that was the window Home Depot stated for delivery. Monday AM find that HD will delivery around 11/noon and Mill Town could not come earlier, so had to reschedule. 11/23 was Mill Town first open date. This time scheduled them for AM. Of course this time HD schedules the appliance delivery for 11-3, which I only find out about the night before. Mill Town arrived on-time around 9, un-hooked old range and dishwasher, added new connector for gas, and then installed 1/2 HP garbage disposal, Badger 5. Finished this around Noon, and we are still waiting for HD delivery with no real good info from them. Tech took lunch, and then had to leave, which I understand. Said they would come back to finish. Paid them $1602.60 for install of Garbage Disposal, with new unit (electric already there) and un-hook dishwasher and range, Here maybe 4 hours, even at $200 for equipment, that is $300+/hr??? HD was delayed with appliances (trunk broke down) and actually did not arrive until 5:30 PM. In 15 minutes appliances in house and old removed. Call Mill Town around 5 PM (Friday night) to say appliances would be delivered in next 30 minutes, for which they said if they came out then would be after hour rate. Told to call them back tomorrow. Called them on Sat AM, they said they would try and would contact me back. Never heard from them. Called them back Sat afternoon, told me to call them back Monday AM. Said I wanted to talk to Service Manager, was told they would tell him to call me. Called again Monday AM, said they would put me on stand-by. Why I was not there already after Friday evening and multiple calls on Sat, who knows?? They would call me if they had any openings. Now this is for job I already [over?] paid for. Also on Sunday evening wife was using sink, and with new garbage disposal install, sink was leaking. Turns out no plug in the hook-up for dishwasher, which was not yet installed! Told them this on Sat, still on standby. During day on Monday called them multiple times, same story on standby. Was told later in afternoon (too late) that they had called me 4 times, had tech available, but since no answer they sent him elsewhere. My iPhone showed no messages or no incoming calls, nor did my home phone which has Verizon Fios call screening and mailbox, which sends me an email for any left messages. Again request call from Service Manager - said he would call me Tuesday AM. Now Tuesday evening and no call from either Mill Town or Service Manager. I have at this point in time contact another plumber to try and get some one out. Hopefully someone from another company will be here on Thursday. By then almost a week with no range, no dishwasher and a leaking sink. I have placed a hold on check payment to Mill Town. This is the only thing that I am 100% sure I will get a call back from them about. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Follow-on - now Tuesday 11/28. I got a friend to help me get a plumber today - Powderly from Billerica (978-663-0164). They came out this AM and finished all to PERFECTION. At least now I have a plumber to call and trust. Cost to me was $275. They said for what I had previously done, probably no more than $200. So total should have been no higher than $600 (on high side), not $1602.60!!! Then perfect timing. No more than 15 minutes after Powderly finishes and leaves, guess who calls? Yes Mill Town, and they think Service Manager had already called and spoken to me, which of course never happened. I am sure the only call I'll receive from Mill Town will be about payment, and maybe this review!"

"Badly. 2 different techs came out. We paid for a Premium service and within hours of that tech coming out, our burner stopped working completely. Mind you there is a snowstorm. They sent out a new technician and he saw nothing wrong with the system at all. He said we had no oil. He said there was no footprints even going to my intake on the side of my house. It had snowed 2 times since oil was delivered, so that makes no sense. The tech was absolutely sure we had no oil. 3 days since the first visit now and we had oil delivered and the tank filled completely. Only 150 gallons went into my 250 gallon tank. So that's wrong. And I look at the front of my furnace and now see a slow drip from the front underneath the box on the front of the furnace. First tech recommended i replace the electrodes but said it didnt need it. Second tech didnt even mention that and said our system was good. Now, I will have to contact Angi for support and my insurance company. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE"

Before finding the right plumber for your job, there are a few questions that you should ask, including:
Are you licensed and insured?
Do you charge for estimates?
Is your fee a flat rate, or is it hourly?
Who will do the work? Are they all licensed and qualified plumbers?
What happens if any breaks or damages occur?
What is your response time in an emergency?
Is cleanup included in the quote?
Do your services come with a guarantee?
Discussing these questions with your plumbing contractor will help eliminate future issues and clarify expectations.

Yes, most states require plumbers to have a license, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Typically, plumbing repairs cost about $325 per job but can range from $175 to $4,000 or more. Simple fixes, such as a toilet repair, will be less expensive at around $150 to $400. However, if you have a pipe that has burst, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $4,000 or more.
The project that needs to be completed, the size of your home, and the type of plumbing pipes you have can all impact the final cost. External factors such as supply chain issues and shortage of materials all play a part in how much this repair might be.

A faucet replacement vs. a failed waste line flooding a finished basement would be at opposite ends of a very broad spectrum. "A plumbing repair" could range from perhaps a $150 minimum service charge up to tens of thousands of dollars for a substantial repair and associated cleanup, finish work, etc.
Answered by Dave Beck at Classy Craftsmen LLC in Cincinnati, OH on 01/09/25
Plumbing repairs can be complex. Often there is damage or breakage in areas that can't be seen without being examined thoroughly. Plumbers will investigate the issue and then let you know what to expect.
Answered by Lee Sentell at Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of South Orange County in Southfields, NY on 01/06/25
Prices can range from $60 to $20,000. Many factors determine the cost of a plumbing job. Things such as the cost of materials, size of the home, the difficulty of the job, travel time, contractor liability, would walls or floors need to be opened and repaired. All these factors and more can greatly affect the cost of a job.
Answered by Glenn Durand at Flat Rate Services Charlotte in Indian Land, SC on 01/13/25
Plumbing costs obviously vary from job to job. You can expect to pay anywhere from $225 - $400 for your average repair of a faucet or toilet. Frozen broken pipes are a much more difficult item to put a price tag on. The best course is to try to correct it as soon as possible: These tend to get worse rather than better, which means more costly. You will obviously be paying more for after hour emergency services, but time is of the essence.
Answered by Tony Coscia at TC Plumbing in Orange, CT on 01/10/25
Before your plumber pays you a visit, it’s a good idea to clean up any boxes, garbage, or other obstacles that could be in their way. In addition, it’s best practice to clean the area that needs to be inspected or worked on, like a toilet, for example. Make sure to keep kids and pets out of the way once the plumber arrives.

The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350.
