A+++ If you are considering installing electric heat pumps, look no further than Net Zero. This is truly an exceptional company. Brian leads an incredible group of competent, professional, friendly and trustworthy people. I had the pleasure of meeting 5 members of his team and each of them was terrific. 1. Brian came to the house and appropriately sized the system. This is extremely important, since an oversized system (as many homeowners might push for) will not function as efficiently. Bigger is definitely not better, when it comes to heat pumps. 2. He gave me a detailed, firm estimate, and then stuck to it. I made a few changes during installation (like adding a heat strip to an air handler for auxiliary heating on really cold nights), and of course, that added to the final cost. Relatively speaking, heat strips are very inexpensive, and easier to put into the system at the time of installation, as the electrician is already there. 3. The lead time was about two months, and he gave me a date about 3 weeks ahead of time. He said it would take 8 days to install three heat pumps, and sure enough, they finished right on schedule. 4. They cleaned up along the way and at the end. 5. They taught me how to use the new Ecobee thermostats, which are fabulous. In summary, I can emphatically recommend this company without any hesitation or reservation. As for the new systems, the heat pumps, amazingly, transfer heat from the outside to the inside, even when it is minus 20 degrees outside (supposedly). It is pure magic. We find that the heat is a lot more comfortable than that provided by my prior hydronic/forced air system. The heat is more steady, as heat pumps excel at maintaining a level. However, they are not good at quickly raising the temperature. You cannot get that blast of heat when you go make breakfast, first thing in the am. (My old system would cycle more often. The room would get chilly, and then the heat would blast on for a cycle.) As a bonus, the heat pumps are quieter than my old AC condensers. However, unlike the old condensers (which were AC only), these outdoor units will be running all winter. And finally, the indoor fan is often really quiet, as the entire system adjusts its speed according to its needs. In summary, so far the new heat pumps are working out really well.

I can't say enough good things about this company and the experience I had when they put in 5 heating/cooling units in my home. Jay (main installer) and Marcus and the rest of the team were respectful and just really nice guys. Jay explained in details how the units worked and made sure I understood it completely. They did a great job installing them in a home that is 130 years old which can be a challenge. Would highly recommend this company- they are ethical and respectful.

This is an exceptionally good company! From planning our heat pump system for our residential home to execution, helping with receiving the refund from the State, and following up with questions and additional requests from us after installation, everything was smooth, friendly, and of high quality. They are competent, helpful, reliable, quick to respond, and always willing to adapt to the customer's needs. Fantastic. I have recommended them to friends and would recommend this company to everybody interested in switching their heating/cooling system to heat pumps. The heat pumps keep the house warm and comfortable even during cold Massachusetts nights without problems.

By far, Net Zero provided the best estimate for a heat pump of the 3 we obtained. Brian understood our concerns and had creative approaches to solving for these. The system was installed as planned and follow up was fast and hassle free. I encourage everyone to get multiple estimates but be sure to include Net Zero.

After my visit from Mass Save, I was able to get in line for installation. Tim and his team came to install and were inspiringly diligent, skilled, professional, hardworking and attentive to details on appearance/location of all the components. They even gracefully navigated our curious dogs all week.
