At Window Nation, we know replacement windows. We’re third-generation window replacement experts who have been lucky to provide homeowners replacement windows, siding, and doors for over fifteen years. We opened our first showroom in Maryland in 2006, quickly growing to serve homeowners in cities across the country – and we’re not stopping there. We’re grateful for every homeowner who has trusted us to upgrade their most important asset: their home. We’ve learned a lot about home improvement over the years, but the most important thing we learned isn’t about window replacement. We learned the home improvement industry isn’t about offering the best windows, siding and doors; it’s about the relationships we build with our customers.

"AVOID Window Nation at all costs. We have a bay window that needs to be replaced. I requested a quote online and “Briana” from Window Nation called me. I answered all of her questions multiple times including whether I (57F) was the sole owner of my home. I am the sole owner, which seemed to be something so odd that she kept asking questions about other people in the house. She requested the full name of my husband and anyone else that would be in the home for the consultation so (according to her) that they would not be “ambushed” when they came to give us a quote. I have never been so interrogated or insulted by a company in my life. Aside from having a sexist list of intake questions (apparently a woman cannot be a sole owner of a house), stating that their representative would be “ambushed” at my home was beyond anything I could tolerate. DO NOT USE WINDOW NATION."

Window services FAQs

If you have a problem with your window, such as broken glass, minor leaks, or a problem with your window being stuck, repairing the broken part might be a cheaper option than replacing the entire window. However, if you have a deteriorating window frame or major leaks, buying a new window will be the better long-term solution.

Window replacement can become costly, especially if you’re replacing your whole home. There are a few steps you can take to help save money on the bottom cost while still giving your windows a facelift.

  • Replace multiple windows at once to bundle your purchase

  • Inquire about discounts, coupons, or special offers

  • Consider window repair as soon as you see damage to help prevent the need for replacement

  • Maintain your windows often by inspecting your windows for drafts, leaks, and cracks

There are certain window repairs that are cost-effective to DIY and relatively simple for homeowners to tackle themselves. Tasks like replacing a screen, replacing a lock, or sealing a window are typically under $30 and take minimal time to do yourself. However, if you need to replace your window or repair a broken double pane, it’s best to call in a professional window replacement installer to lend a hand. Replacing the majority or all of the windows in your home is a time consuming job and best left to a professional.

Window replacement costs between $180 and $410 per window, or an average of $280 per window. However, your specific replacement job could cost as little as $100 or as much as $750. Factors such as frame material, the number of windows you need, and the type of glass you order all impact the overall cost. For example, simple double-glazed windows will cost $3 to $6 per square foot, but the stronger tempered glass ranges from $12 to $14 per square foot.

The time it takes to replace a window is a total of four to 15 weeks. This time includes your initial consultation, appointments for measuring, as well as ordering and manufacturing your windows. For a smaller job, you can expect the total timeline to be on the shorter end, but for a whole house window replacement, it might take longer (or be split into multiple install appointments). Once your windows are created and ready to be installed, your window installer will take 30 to 60 minutes per window to install.
