"Jan 2021 A Geek Squad Salesman sold me a Frankenstein-ed Non-Existent version of BestBuys Membership program & Apple iPhone Insurance. By lying to us about what it covered. 1st lie) telling us the $214 would cover almost 1/2 the cost of replacing the broken glass on my iPhone (2nd lie-he quoted $173 & said the membership would cover $73 of the replacement cost but later I found out the replacement cost is more like $300 so 3rd lie) he told me I could take BestBuy Geek Squad classes to learn how to use my Windows Pro7 computer we’d bought @Costco which I later learned obviously doesn’t qualify as a BestBuy item covered under their membership allowing me to take computer those classes at BestBuy. I learned that nothing the sales person told me about the membership was even true! I had come in for the Apple appt to fix my iPhone 2 weeks after buying the membership but that same salesperson greeted me telling the other salesmen “She’s my customer.” Basically to protect his lies. He then told us the Apple server was down that day so my phone wouldn’t be fixed till another time. He successfully avoided my telling anyone about the bogus membership he’d sold me because he wanted the nice commission check. I don’t believe it was more than &20 but if he sold enough bogus memberships that’d be a nice boost to his paycheck. At any rate recovering from Cancer & dealing with the constant pain of Fibromyalgia I was unable to get back into BestBuy again till May. Which was when I finally learned the membership I’d purchased had virtually no use to us for anything whatsoever!!!! I immediately called the BestBuy main office for Geek Squad to try to get my money back only to have them basically tell me even though the salesperson was absolutely in the wrong for what he did that it was unclear as to if I would receive a full refund because of my not knowing about the rouse till May. I canceled the membership as soon as I realized what had taken place but the decided to only give me a $120 refund. Which infuriates me because I’m still out $95 & I’ve received absolutely nothing in return. On top of all of this I just received an email from a Geek Squad manager named Victoria Rosas telling me she’s going to charge my bank acct $400 for what she claims as my enjoyment of 12 months of Geek Squad services! This statement is a totally bogus accusation as I’ve only 1st stepped foot in BestBuy with my husband this last Jan to buy an iWatch & obviously the horrible Bogus BestBuy Membership that I could never use for anything. I don’t appreciate being bullied or threatened & I plan on contacting Victoria’s supervisor. I’m fairly certain there’s going to be some changes made in how BestBuy sells those memberships in the future if not mow I plan on making sure something changes soon. People should be able to trust the salespeople working in the stores we shop in. If National Chain Stores can’t keep their sales people in-line then how can we trust that store to be a store we want to ever buy from again?"

Heavenly Heat Infrared Saunas are made for the chemically sensitive. That means that our infrared saunas create an ideal, safe, and effective detoxification environment for anyone seeking to eliminate toxic substances from their body.

"Terrible! Wish I had gone with another company. Here is the issue with Heavenly Heat. If your sauna arrives damaged or and issue arrives -- they have zero technical support. Your repairs will be done by any "joe" that heavenly heat finds to do the repair in your area. They will have no experience with Sauna's and are given no instructions regarding the chemical free aspect of these sauna's. The worst part is the buyer, me, was treated as if I was the problem for wanting my sauna repaired correctly. I would have refused the delivery had I realized I was receiving a damaged sauna and would have to spend hours and days trying to get this resolved. The owner, Bob Morgan, is extremely responsive before he has your money but after, is a different story. When inquiring about the sauna he would respond generally within 10 minutes. After you purchase, and particularly if you have a problem with it, you are treated as if you're a nuisance. My sister bought a competitors sauna around the same time and the service she received from knowledgable representatives was a world of difference from my experience. My other issue was that there were shipping delays and Bob would never communicate them. I would have to pursue him to get information. I think they make a decent sauna but I would not recommend for reasons stated above."

"I ordered a part from this company for my dryer. They claim: 2 Day Quick Delivery! 365 Day Return Policy! Free Tech Support! I returned the unused part in their own packaging and they refused to provide a refund! Apparently, there's some hidden small print in their return policy that if you open the box and touch the product, that item is no longer eligible for a refund. They claim that the part showed signs of installation such as scuff marks. I asked for the part to be sent back to me for inspection by other professionals, but they refused because they disposed of the part. I've never encountered with such a scam company as this one and advise all to stay away from their misleadings! Good luck trying to get a refund from them, you're not getting one."

Appliancezone.com is a leading on-line retailer of appliance parts and accessories for do-it-yourself homeowners. Incorporated in 2008, it was started by CEO, Jim Allen and his wife Paula, who operated an appliance repair business for nearly fourteen years prior to starting the internet company Appliance Zone.

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

Appliance sales FAQs

If you’re debating whether it’s worth repairing a damaged appliance, consider a few factors, including the appliance’s age and the cost to replace it. Large, high-value appliances are worth repairing, especially when the fixes are minor and the appliance is only a few years old. However, if the cost of repairs is more than half the price of a new item, then it may be worth replacing it. For example, if your refrigerator repair costs continue increasing and add up to more than 50% of the cost to replace it, you’re better off buying a new one.

Typically, most appliances last anywhere from 10 to 15 years, depending on the appliance, brand, and amount of use. Keeping a regular maintenance schedule, including cleaning and tune-ups, also helps appliances last longer. Dryers, gas stoves, and refrigerators tend to last the longest, averaging about 13 to 15 years. Microwaves and dishwashers tend to last about 10 years on average.

There are a few scenarios when replacing all kitchen appliances simultaneously makes sense, including major renovations, moving into a new home, or purchasing as a set. If you want to refresh your kitchen upon move-in day or start over during a renovation, consider purchasing and replacing your kitchen appliances at once to save on labor costs. Also, if your appliances are all original to the home or are older and require increasing amounts of maintenance and repair, replacing them all at the same time may be a good option.

In most cases, appliance warranties do not transfer to new owners. However, some exceptions apply. To check the status of your appliance warranty and whether you can transfer it when you move, review the terms and conditions of your warranties or consult your home warranty service. When purchasing a new appliance or one from a previous owner, be sure to pay attention to its warranty status, including the type of coverage and any exclusions.

The cost of home appliances ranges from $350 to $8,000 or more, depending on the brand, type of appliance, and features. Additional cost factors include any hookups that need to be installed, such as gas, plumbing, or electrical. Keep in mind that major appliances, such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, and water heaters, will cost more than minor appliances, such as microwaves, due to the size, complexity, and essential nature of the item.
