"They are scammers! Stay away from this company. I had no hot water so I called this company. I asked them if they worked with electric tankless water heaters. They said yes. They got to my house fast. We went downstairs to the heater and he didn’t know how to get the cover off. For a few minutes he tried with no success. He then looked around at my other plumbing in the same area. He pulled out my clogged water house filter for me and turned on bypass. He told us to try the water and it got hot we were happy. He told us that I could get a new filter from Lowe’s. Which I did get the filter and put it back in myself. He also looks at my water softener and brine tank. He unplugged my softener tank and basically said he didn’t know what it was and that I didn’t need it. I just bought this house so I’m learning this stuff myself. I knew nothing at the time about anything in my basement. So when he unplugged my softener he told me most people buy crazy s*** to be over protective. He then offered to take a water sample so I agreed. I told him that I have well water that I definitely know we need to have a softener system. So I start to do my research and my electric tankless hot water manual said this type has to have good quality water or could damage it. Hard water could potentially damage my pipes as well. Back to we have hot water now, we got the water sample, so now he’s back trying to get the cover off my heater. He had to call warranty number to figure out the cover. He couldn’t get through mean while we’re sitting in my kitchen for more than 30 min. He told me he didn’t work on these types of heaters. He knew more about gas heaters. He did know it needed to be flushed but told me I didn’t have the valves installed to flush it. That he would get back with part prices. I said ok thank you. Never got to service my actual heater or even get cover off so they left. When they left we left to get a filter. Get home no hot water. I called them no answer. So I tried another company. Next day the office called me back with pricing for the valve service kit. They said just for parts would be $230 not including installation. I then told the lady how I lost my hot water again and wanted to know if they could replace my heater instead. She put me on hold to ask the owner. The owner said no that they don’t replace my type of heater. Then they email me a bill for $222 for not even getting the cover off my water heater and taking out my whole house filter, and water sample. I called them back and asked them if I could talk to the owner. He got on the phone and told me my type of heater was junk. I asked him why would he send someone to my home if he didn’t replace my type of heater. Water heaters always need to be replaced 10 years or not. He said because he can offer me better heating options. Told me I could put a propane tank in (thousands of dollars mind you) add gas lines into the house and get a gas tankless heater. If I wanted estimates or other heating options I would’ve called for that. I specifically called them for ELECTRIC Tankless water heater. He refused to reduce the bill. $222to take out, not even replace a common filter! The did absolutely no work to my home. They are crooks got in the door to charge for something they knew they didn’t know anything about. They could have potentially caused more harm to my house If I didn’t do my homework and learn about my setup. also went on Home Depot and Lowe’s website to look at service valve kits. Both sites are 100$ cheaper than their quote for parts. I feel bad for costumers who could be elderly or customers who are not aware of any of this stuff getting robbed by them. This company shouldn’t be allowed to operate. I had to contact Home Depot to get someone who actually installs and services Electric tankless water heaters. Oh and get this he also told me he was kind enough to give my h-vac a free Freon charge. LIE! Another company told me that if I needed a Freon charge that means I had a leak. ?⚠️"

Gas leak repairs FAQs

Yes, most states require a plumber to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Check our state licensing tool to review the local plumber guidelines.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Fixing a gas leak costs about $45 to $150 per hour for a plumber or gas line specialist. The job’s overall cost will vary depending on the location of the leak. A leaky junction or connection behind the stove or dryer will likely cost about $120 to $170. But for a leak that requires a gas fitter or plumber to excavate a pipe in the yard, the cost could rise to $1,500 to $5,000. Keep in mind that gas leaks are very serious issues, so don’t hesitate to contact a plumber or gas line specialist immediately.

Fixing a gas leak can take anywhere from one to 24 hours, depending on the location and magnitude of the problem. A gas line specialist or gas plumber should be able to give you an estimated time to completion once they evaluate the situation. If your city’s utility company works to fix a gas leak, it will likely have information available about the anticipated time for gas service to be restored.

The cost of repairing a gas leak depends on the type of leak, its severity, and how difficult it is for the repair technician to reach it. Some of the most common gas line repair costs, on average, include:

  • Cap a gas line: $75–$150

  • Gas system inspection: $150

  • Pressure test: $75–$500

  • Damaged or corroded pipe: $6–$7 per linear foot

  • Repair gas leak: $120–$5,000

A local natural gas plumber, gas fitter, or gas line specialist should fix gas leaks. Installing gas lines and connections improperly can lead to dangerous gas leaks and explosions. Only a certified plumber or gas line specialist should run gas lines. This is not a job to try out DIY skills, so hire a professional gas plumber or gas line specialist immediately to find the cause of the leak and fix it quickly.
