We are determined to give you the highest quality water treatment equipment with the longest warranties, best prices, and best customer service in the area! Equipment is built especially for you upon order and can normally be installed within one week. We are currently servicing Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Madison, Otsego, Tioga, and Tompkins Counties in New York and Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. We can ship replacement filters and other replacement parts anywhere in the US. If you are in the local area, you can stop in with a water sample during our regular office hours for a free water quality test. We will test for hardness, pH, iron, manganese and sulfur (rotten egg smell), with no pressure to buy. If these times aren't convenient for you please call 607-648-5248. To collect a sample for a water quality test you can use an old 16 oz soda bottle, or similar container. Be sure to rinse the container thoroughly before collecting the sample and allow the water to run for about two minutes prior to filling your container. Bring your container in as soon as possible. If you can't bring it in immediately store it in the refrigerator. After 24 hours, you will need to take a new sample. New York State mandates that bacteria tests are to be done by a certified laboratory. We have bacteria test bottles on hand from Microbac Laboratories, Inc. (Monday through Friday) and Sullivan County Labs (Tuesday and Thursday) and samples are picked up at Beacon Water by their private couriers on the days noted at 1pm.

"Had them install a new furnace a few years ago and have used them for everything related, since and never had any issues. My furnace began to have some issues and I asked them to come out. They arrived on Dec. 12th 2024 and after looking at it, told me it was no longer safe to run. Today is Jan 10, 2025 and I still have no heat and hot water. It's been 2 days shy of an entire month and extremely cold. They've ordered parts, but they were incorrect. Ordered again and got one of them correct but the other one was still incorrect. THIS IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I'm completely dissatisfied with the services I have received and will probably pay someone else going forward since it seems as though they don't know what they are doing."

Residential and business water treatment systems. Water softeners, UV lights. We will analyze your water for contaminants such as chlorine, low pH, iron, bacteria, and devise a system to suit your needs. Treat your water from the source, as it enters your home, so whether you are drinking it, cooking with it or bathing in it, your water is pure.
"The process was quick and easy. I just provided a water sample. It was determined that I had high levels of chlorine in our drinking water. I was able to solve my water problems with only one filter. Why did I wait years to have this done? Now I can be confident that our water is safe. Highly recommended."

If water touches it we can fix it.
"Ed was fantastic. Came early morning because he knew I needed to leave down. Was very thorough in work and articulate in explaining what he was doing and why. Pricey, but I rest better knowing he did the work and have confidence that if any issues arise he will come right back to take care of it."

The license requirements for water softener installation depend on your location. Some municipalities require that the installer hold a plumbing license, some require a permit and an inspection, but no license for the installer, and some require a permit and a license for the installer. Regardless of the local laws in your area, it’s always a good idea to hire a licensed plumber or installer. These pros will install your system properly and have the experience to size the system appropriately. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to check your installer’s license status.
The cost to install a water softener system is $1,500 on average, ranging between $200 and $6,000. The labor for water softener work typically costs between $150 and $1,000, so you can add that to your equipment costs to get an accurate total. Your price will depend on many factors, including the following:
System capacity
Home size
Water hardness levels
Type of water softener
Presence of electricity in the installation area
Local permit costs
Water softeners are worth the money if you live in an area with hard water. Hard water is safe to drink, but it poses serious threats to your plumbing system. The minerals in hard water will gradually build up on the inside walls of your pipes, reducing water flow to your fixtures. The minerals can also gradually corrode your plumbing system, reduce its lifespan, and increase the risk of leaks. Hard water also makes soap and detergent less effective. Water softener systems can solve all these issues, making them a great investment.
It’s possible to install a water softener yourself, but we don’t recommend it. Water softeners require working with copper pipes and electrical wiring, neither are suitable tasks for most DIYers. Plus, working with water and electricity together is dangerous and could pose a risk to your safety. Water softeners also need to be calibrated so that they don’t make your water too soft, as soft water poses just as many risks as hard water. Overall, it’s well worth hiring a local water softener installer to place your water softener system.
Your water softener size is based on your total household water consumption. In most cases, you can assume the average household member will use around 75 gallons per day. Multiply that by the number of people in your home, then multiply by 10 (for the typical grains per gallon). You’ll get a number in grains that should help roughly size your water softener. However, it’s best to hire a professional to install your system and use more exact numbers, like your exact average water consumption per day and starting water hardness.
