"Greg the inspector came out, nice guy very knowledgeable, I spent 14800 in waterproofing and mold removal, new sump pump and a air purifier. Greg and I went over everything the crew was going to do. Well where the water issue I was most concerned about , they side step and only put the drain tile down the middle and not at both sides. Stay Dry ended up sending 1 person to put tile in on both sides and fixed that issue, now I am having water issue where I was not having issues before and come to find out where my water line comes in they just put gravel under and did not put the concrete back in that area. So now I have a new leak and I can't seem to get this company to come back out for a 3rd time to fix this issue. Also I have water coming up from the newly concrete floor, I was told that the concrete has to cure for awhile which I understand that, but I don't think it should be seeping up along the cracks where the new and old concrete meets. Waiting on this company to correct."

"They were prompt with getting us scheduled for an estimate. When they came out they were through and I felt confident moving forward with them, a very no nonsense approach which is appreciated! The estimate was less than what we had been quoted from other companies. When they came and did the work the crew was extremely friendly and Mark was great with customer services all throughout the process. We’ll definitely be working with them again for our next concrete project."

Ohio State Home Services is the nation's leading residential waterproofing contractor and foundation repair company. Since 1977, we have waterproofed more than 80,000 satisfied customers' homes.
"Mekhi was very good at keeping me in the loop as to what was going to happen, what did happen and what the next steps would be. He was well informed and very knowledgeable about the system and what my waterproofing plan was. Mekhi, Jaheim and the whole crew were very professional and respectful of our house and yard. The basement already seems and looks better. The guys did a fantastic job. Thank you so much for your help. My sister had referred me to them, if everything keeps going well with the new system I'll be recommending them as well. The whole staff has been great to work with and everyone seems to be on top of the project."

"In November 2024 we hired Interstate Systems, Inc., located in West Salem, OH to repair and waterproof the water damage in our basement. The men working on the job were exceptional. We watched them work extremely hard for three days straight. When the work was complete, my husband and I could not have been happier. It was a pleasure to work with their President, Mr. David Nagel. Mr. Nagel took his time to explain everything clearly so we would understand exactly what the project entailed. We thank the entire crew for helping us solve a major problem. Jim and Kimberly M."

"Zane and his helper removed a big, old, eyesore oil tank from the basement. I was told it would have to be cut up in order to fit out the door. Zane quoted the job accurately based on discussion and pictures, showed up as scheduled and did not only a fantastic removal job (without damaging anything), but also did not leave a mess. They brought a shopvac! The area looked so much BETTER after they left than when they arrived. I wish every contractor I hired was as professional as Zane. My experience working with Zane was extremely positive. I cannot recommend him enough and would give him a 5+ star if I could!"

Masonry uses units like bricks, cement blocks, and stone with mortar between them. Mortar is generally made of sand and a type of cement. Examples of masonry include the brick or stone on a house, chimney, or freestanding wall. Concrete is a mixture of water, sand, stone aggregate, and other materials, and is poured into forms or moldings. Types of concrete applications include driveways, garage and basement floors, and poured concrete walls in basements and crawl spaces.
The cost of masonry work varies widely depending on the type of masonry along with common cost factors like size, complexity, location, and season. Most exterior masonry work done in freezing temperatures tends to cost more because of the preparation and protection involved to keep the masonry from freezing before the mortar cures properly. The average price ranges per project or square foot for different types of masonry include:
Brick wall (fence, garden wall, etc.): $10–$45 per square foot
Natural stone wall: $40–$110 per square foot
Manufactured stone veneer: $20–$40 per square foot
Brick home exterior: $10–$30 per square foot
Brick siding: $3–$10 per square foot
Stone siding: $35–$50 per square foot
Brick step replacement: $20–$30 per square foot
Brick wall repair: $20–$40 per square foot
Chimney repairs: $160–$750 per project
Tuckpointing: $5–$25 per square foot
A mason lays brick or stone together, sometimes with mortar in between the bricks and stones, and sometimes without mortar, also called a dry-stack or surface bonding. Examples of work masons do include:
Brick, stone, or cement block houses and buildings
Freestanding stone or brick walls
Chimneys with wood-burning fireplaces
Cement block basement or crawl space walls
Masonry work tends to be more expensive because the materials can be costly, such as natural stone and brick. Masonry is also very labor intensive, typically making up 50% or more of the final project cost. In addition, quality masonry work requires years of training and experience, as with any skilled trade.
Two types of masonry are veneer masonry and solid masonry. Veneer masonry is thin brick or stone material attached to the face of a building. With veneer masonry, the walls support the weight of the masonry products rather than the masonry being built on a concrete footing. Solid masonry is a wall or other brick or stone structure built on a concrete footing, and the masonry supports itself.
