"Barbara was phenomenal. A true professional dedicated to her craft and excellent customer service. We had a custom toilet that stopped working, and a leaky faucet in the same bathroom. She reached out right away after requesting a quote through Angi, and she came the same day. At first she told us that the toilet required a part she’d have to order, and after fiddling with the faucet, recommended the 15 year-old fixture be replaced. I offered to purchase it from Home Depot or Lowe’s she agreed to come back to replace the old one and install it in 3 days. After she left, she called me back and asked if she can return because she figured out how she could try to fix the toilet with existing parts she had in her truck. She did it. The toilet is functioning better than it did before the problems began! She then returned 3 days later as promised to replace the bathroom faucet, a complicated project because of the cabinet structure that she stuck with and skillfully completed. On a personal note. We bonded once I asked about the name of the company, which her father, who founded the company, named after his Navy ship. My dad also served in the Navy. "Initially, working with Universe went very well when we replaced a central air unit and installed a single-head and triple-head ductless unit... for about 1 season. After that, numerous issues arose (under warranty) from full line-replacement on the ductless units to having to come back to repair a wired connection that was reversed. This caused the AC to not work and have lots of moisture leak through our units. Additionally, pretty much EVERY season we have had an issue with our "brand new efficient systems" not working or failing. We leveraged the warranty and figured all the "kinks" of the installation were worked out over the first few years. Now, with the warranty expired for a year, we have had to have them back to our house several times with a service charge with absolutely zero consideration for the large project we have done with them and our dedicated customer history. We paid for those, thinking we would be done with repairs, as the tech said... Two days ago, with one single-head unit not powering up, they wanted to charge $285 just to show up to take a look at the issue... couldn't even send someone over when convenient to take a quick look... Severely disappointed in this "family business" that treats loyal/dedicated customers as a number. Their installation of ductless systems seems mediocre at best."
