Here at JNM Sewer & Drain we know how difficult it can be to experience plumbing problems. We’re a family owned and operated company that wants to take on your challenges efficiently, quickly, and at the lowest cost possible. We won’t tell you we can’t help you over the phone. Instead we’ll discuss, provide estimated costs over the phone, and if we need more information, you can even send a text message with a photo of your issue. We don’t pretend to specialize in various industries. Instead we focus on one thing and do it well: sewer and drain cleaning. We offer solutions for homeowners, plumbers, and small business owners. WHY ELSE SHOULD YOU CONSIDER US? We offer warranties. We’ve got the equipment on-hand to tackle your challenges. We offer maintenance programs (monthly or yearly options available). We’re great communicators so we make sure you understand the issue and how we’re going to solve it before we take it on. We charge on a job basis, not hourly. No hidden fees. AREAS WE SERVE We cater to homes and businesses located in Nassau County, Suffolk County, Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.

"Prompt response. Was able to figure out what was wrong over the phone. Price given over the phone was the price paid."

NJ Plumbing License #6073 William Schinestuhl – NJ Plumbing License #6848 Thomas Swick. Additional DBA - New Jersey Plumbing & Heating Inc. Award winning. Senior Discount up to $200 off. "Let us preface our review by saying we have an older home which had very specific needs and limited space to work with. It should also be noted that all of these projects needed to be precisely timed around a concurrent foundation repair (I-beams encased in concrete being placed along all of the walls in our basement). Over this past year, Chapman Brothers completed the following repairs for us: -conversion from oil to gas heat (steam oil boiler to gas combi unit - all in one boiler/water heater) -oil tank/water heater removal -steam pipe removal along all walls in the basement -removal of steam pipes and conversion to pex water lines to all radiators throughout our home -chimney liner install -complete air conditioner/condenser replacement/associated electrical work -duct repair -sewer line replacement -2 sump pump replacements (1 with complete battery back up system and pipe repair) -plumbing for washing machine relocation -water main pressure regulator and shut off valve replacement -gas line relocation to accommodate the angle irons needed for the foundation repair -sill **** replacements ...and I probably forgot a thing or two... Reliability, communication and punctuality were key to working alongside the foundation repair company, gas company, water company and town - all while allowing us to keep our sanity through such a big repair. The concurrent foundation repair made this a complicated and unique project to begin with, and our living in the home with a 1.5yr old while all this was going on just made it that much more interesting. For example, most of the plumbing needed to be temporarily installed before putting in the final piping, so we could live in our home while this all went on. Chapman went out of their way to make this happen with no interruptions in gas/water/waste removal service. Also, ultimately all the plumbing/gas lines needed to be run around or over the i-beams placed along the walls-but neatly-so we didn’t waste too much space because we were refinishing the basement again. Some work needed to be slightly altered and redone after we hit some “bumps in the road” with our other repairs. Annoying but true, and without hesitation or complaint, Chapman redid the things we needed redone. We had a 1.5yr old running around and they worked around and humored him every chance they had. Needless to say, there were a lot of factors that made our project anything but easy for anyone. But Bill, Tom and team did everything they could make all of this as easy as possible. They were thorough, organized, productive, clean, punctual, patient, reasonable, flexible, and most importantly honest and kind. Their attention to detail still impresses us. Who knew plumbing could be so clean and organized?! Melissa in the office was also really great with scheduling - super organized, patient and accommodating, it helped with all of the coordination involved with the project. The clever ways the guys found to work with what we had with was impressive / in-and-of itself. Further, these guys didn’t come in here trying to sell any fancy fixes or promise us the world. They came with obvious years of experience and, frankly, just helped us make everything work the best way it could for us and our specific situation. There’s something to be said about having a job done correctly, but it’s something totally different being able to say you had it done right the first time (Any homeowner who has had subpar work done knows exactly what I mean by this.). Bill and his team became a huge part of our lives over this past year and we respect them and their work more than we can say. These guys had countless hours of work ahead of them yet never hesitated to stop and answer a question we had or offer a suggestion on a way to make our project work better and within our budget. They were punctual, used their time wisely and productively, yet didn’t rush in and out carelessly. What I think is even more important to emphasize is that I can honestly say I trust chapman brothers. As a homeowner I would typically feel vulnerable saying that about a contractor, but not for a second when it comes to Chapman. They are good, honest people who show absolute pride and craftsmanship in their work. They have something many people don’t; years of skill and experience under their belts along with pride in their work. They aren’t rushing around to make the next dollar. They do quality work and find themselves with clients for life. They are most definitely experts in their field. Needless to say, my family and I will be lifetime clients of chapman brothers and will continue to refer them to everyone we know."

We years of experience, we strive to provide you with reliable plumbing services at reasonable prices. "Barbara was phenomenal. A true professional dedicated to her craft and excellent customer service. We had a custom toilet that stopped working, and a leaky faucet in the same bathroom. She reached out right away after requesting a quote through Angi, and she came the same day. At first she told us that the toilet required a part she’d have to order, and after fiddling with the faucet, recommended the 15 year-old fixture be replaced. I offered to purchase it from Home Depot or Lowe’s she agreed to come back to replace the old one and install it in 3 days. After she left, she called me back and asked if she can return because she figured out how she could try to fix the toilet with existing parts she had in her truck. She did it. The toilet is functioning better than it did before the problems began! She then returned 3 days later as promised to replace the bathroom faucet, a complicated project because of the cabinet structure that she stuck with and skillfully completed. On a personal note. We bonded once I asked about the name of the company, which her father, who founded the company, named after his Navy ship. My dad also served in the Navy. Barbara kept me regularly posted about when she’d arrive and the progress of the work. She was true to her word. I’d gladly paid her for her excellent work."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Before finding the right plumber for your job, there are a few questions that you should ask, including:

  • Are you licensed and insured?

  • Do you charge for estimates?

  • Is your fee a flat rate, or is it hourly?

  • Who will do the work? Are they all licensed and qualified plumbers?

  • What happens if any breaks or damages occur?

  • What is your response time in an emergency?

  • Is cleanup included in the quote?

  • Do your services come with a guarantee?

Discussing these questions with your plumbing contractor will help eliminate future issues and clarify expectations.

Answered by Angi Experts

Yes, most states require plumbers to have a license, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Typically, plumbing repairs cost about $325 per job but can range from $175 to $4,000 or more. Simple fixes, such as a toilet repair, will be less expensive at around $150 to $400. However, if you have a pipe that has burst, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $4,000 or more.

The project that needs to be completed, the size of your home, and the type of plumbing pipes you have can all impact the final cost. External factors such as supply chain issues and shortage of materials all play a part in how much this repair might be.

A faucet replacement vs. a failed waste line flooding a finished basement would be at opposite ends of a very broad spectrum. "A plumbing repair" could range from perhaps a $150 minimum service charge up to tens of thousands of dollars for a substantial repair and associated cleanup, finish work, etc.

Answered by Dave Beck at Classy Craftsmen LLC in Cincinnati, OH on 01/09/25

Plumbing repairs can be complex. Often there is damage or breakage in areas that can't be seen without being examined thoroughly. Plumbers will investigate the issue and then let you know what to expect.

Answered by Lee Sentell at Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of South Orange County in Southfields, NY on 01/06/25

Prices can range from $60 to $20,000. Many factors determine the cost of a plumbing job. Things such as the cost of materials, size of the home, the difficulty of the job, travel time, contractor liability, would walls or floors need to be opened and repaired. All these factors and more can greatly affect the cost of a job.

Answered by Glenn Durand at Flat Rate Services Charlotte in Indian Land, SC on 01/13/25

Plumbing costs obviously vary from job to job. You can expect to pay anywhere from $225 - $400 for your average repair of a faucet or toilet. Frozen broken pipes are a much more difficult item to put a price tag on. The best course is to try to correct it as soon as possible: These tend to get worse rather than better, which means more costly. You will obviously be paying more for after hour emergency services, but time is of the essence.

Answered by Tony Coscia at TC Plumbing in Orange, CT on 01/10/25

Before your plumber pays you a visit, it’s a good idea to clean up any boxes, garbage, or other obstacles that could be in their way. In addition, it’s best practice to clean the area that needs to be inspected or worked on, like a toilet, for example. Make sure to keep kids and pets out of the way once the plumber arrives.

Answered by Angi Experts
