"I tweaked the door on my dump trailer. To try to save time I ordered a new door, thinking I could just slap it on. Surprise! the door did not match the trailer and had been shoddily constructed with the hinge barrels mis-aligned. I called Amerivet. I didn't get Gary- he sent out two younger guys. They came out and diagnosed the problem and fixed it quickly. They were both personable, polite and worked well together. Great quality work, very reasonable pricing, great communication. There are a few possible issues that are causing your gate to sage. The hinges may be bent, or the screws holding the hinges to the post could fail—causing the gate to sag from one side to the other. The post holding the gate aloft may lean inward, causing the gate to sag.

Be aware that many automatic or electric gates are very heavy, so it may be difficult to close the gate if you are fine with manually opening it.

Your wooden gate post hole should be a third to a half of the height of the post. Also, note that the diameter of the post hole should be three times the diameter of the post. You should set the post in concrete to ensure a long-lasting and durable post that will withstand the test of time.
