hardwood floor

Description of Work: I needed to have my 100 year old birch wood floors sanded, some minor repairs, and polyurethaned and they came out beautiful. He gave me a quote and stuck with it. He was always on time and finished the job on schedule. I have used him once a few years back and I would again. I highly recommend his honest, hard work and the finished project.

Description of Work: John Nix recovered our 1930 hardwood floors in three rooms, fixed some holes where radiator pipes used to come through, and created two doorway transition pieces. He sanded and repaired over two days and applied a clear oil-based protection over the following three days. He was a stickler for detail, even pointing out how "bad" the floor looked after the 2nd coat. Frankly, the floor looked perfect and the final product was beautiful. You could tell he looked at the task as an art project as he excitedly pointed out the cool boards. Before the floors were done everything looked dark and dull and all of the boards looked the same. Now, there is character. I should have done this years ago. Worth every penny.

floor cleaning
+ -1 moreIt was a very smooth project. Just had the guys come in and worked on our living room floor which comprised of sanding and placing three (3) coats of oil based urethane. The floor came out beautifully.
Description of Work: Called company, Doug (owner) called back, we scheduled a day to perform the work, and it was done in a timely/professional manner.
