"This is a review of only the process of getting an estimate. Newman was the third company to bid on my job so I had some idea of what this job should cost (ca. $1800). The guy from Newman quoted me $2500. When I asked about what I was getting for the additional $700, I was told a string of outright lies. (1) We have a better reputation than our competition. In fact, one of the others were better rated on Angies List. (2) Our product line (Milgard) was much superior to the competition. In fact, the competition (Swinton) was better rated by Consumer Reports. (3) Our warranty is better than the competition. In fact, the competition has a double life-time warranty that even covers accidental breakage. The estimator became belligerent and defensive and left abruptly. Very, very unprofessional."
