"They did show up in a timely manner but the only real work was done by my spouse, she was asked to look up the error code on our computer and they did read it but only told her what we had already wrote down for them. She was told it needed a main board at a cost of $600+or- plus labor, she asked them to provide a part number if possible and she was told they would look it up and she could call to get it and she did so the following day. No number and the person she spoke to had no idea what she was asking for. My spouse was told they would call back with the info and they never did. I worked many year ago with ac/hvac but have no means to diagnose modern mini split units but I did look at the mother board and found a schematic in plain view under the top of the unit, they had this off as well. It showed three fuses which are simple to test with a multi-meter and I did so and found a bad fuse replaced it and the unit works as new! No I would not recomend them at least for this type of unit, sorry but $93 for a service call would be fine if they just checked a fuse or two but that aparently isn't done anymore and no return call? Not doing business with them again. PS I work days and could not be home for the service call but my spouse is very intelligent so I trust she knew exactly what happened and acted kindly with an open mind and had it cost $93 for service and a .75 cent fuse I would have been fine but that did not happen."

Family-owned business providing plumbing, heating, cooling and electrical services to homes and businesses since 1976.
"I frequently used Graham Simon in the past; something has changed. Even the process of making an appointment was cumbersome, impersonal, and inconsiderate. I made an appointment for first thing in the morning. After waiting for two hours, they were a no show, with no contact regarding estimated time of arrival or reason for delay, despite two phone calls to the office. I won't use them again."

Hughart's Supply Inc. has been in business since 1930. It was started by Marvin Hughart and was primarily a feed/hardware store. He sold the business to Ralph Schlobohm in 1976. Ralph expanded the business into a plumbing, heating store. He also opened two other locations. The second store opened in Sabraton in 1985. The third store opened in Star City in 1990. In 1997, Ralph's son Gary took control of the business. He has been with Hughart's since 1977. Gary along with his highly experienced mangers, sales staff and Fixzit Man technicians continue to service the Morgantown and surrounding areas. Their experience and expertise in plumbing, heating and air conditioning is second to none.
"Work was done promptly and very professionally. They cleaned up after themselves very thoroughly, too!"

Appliancezone.com is a leading on-line retailer of appliance parts and accessories for do-it-yourself homeowners. Incorporated in 2008, it was started by CEO, Jim Allen and his wife Paula, who operated an appliance repair business for nearly fourteen years prior to starting the internet company Appliance Zone.
"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

Knowing how long your existing HVAC units can last is essential to determine if you need a repair or replacement. Typically, most modern air conditioning units can last between 15 to 20 years, and most furnaces can work properly for 15 to 30 years. If your HVAC system is on the older side and you decide to replace one unit, it might make sense to replace both simultaneously to save on costs and future hassle.
While different HVAC contractors might offer higher or lower prices than competitors, the best time to replace your HVAC system is when customer demand is low. The beginning of summer and the beginning of winter bring the most demand for HVAC systems, so if you can, consider replacing your HVAC units in the early spring or fall. Many HVAC companies offer special off-season coupons that help lower the overall cost.
The average cost to hire an HVAC contractor is between $50 and $150 per hour if charging hourly. However, some HVAC contractors will charge a flat fee by the type of service they are performing—for example, an inspection can cost between $150 to $500. Keep in mind that emergency repairs—which are made after business hours or around major holidays—generally cost more than scheduled repairs.
Yes, most states require HVAC technicians to be certified, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed HVAC technician could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
The average cost of HVAC repairs is around $350. However, that price can be as low as $100 or as high as $2,000 or more, depending on the repair. For example, replacing a capacitor is a relatively inexpensive repair, ranging from $100 to $500. However, a compressor repair is a more expensive repair, ranging from $750 to $2,000.
