Excellent. Timely. Efficient. Professional. They also replaced a faucet in the basement tub sink. When it had a very small drip, they came immediately and fixed it. In the process, we also found a stuck valve, and got that replaced on the spot. I WILL use Hugharts again!
Description of Work: I needed a new, energy efficient water heater that vents through the side of the house, instead of the roof (which is four stories up). I was having the roof redone and I wanted to remove any pipes or vents going through the new one. Hugharts came through fast. They gave the estimate that day and did the work the next day, allowing the roofers to do what they needed to do (which was to remove the old water heater flue).

Every job we have hired them for has gone very well. I have a home built in 1968 so it needs some repairs (we haven't had anything major done) and they have always done an excellent job with a very high quality of work.
Description of Work: Have had several jobs done around the house and they are always helpful. Also, I have been to the store and they have been willing to help me figure out how to do small repairs myself.

I had a horrible experience with this plumber. They came out and charged me $200 to fix a dripping faucet. I wouldn't mind that much, but $80 of it was from the plumber going to two different stores to try to find the part. I would have thought he could have called before hand to see if they had the part. To add insult onto injury, the very next day, my hot water heater sprung a leak and damaged my basement floor. I haven't had any plumbing issues for 5 years, and the day after they "fixed" my leak, I had my hot water heater break. They said that the two issues were completely unrelated, but I find the odds of that very low. In any case, they were going to charge me $1500 to replace the hot water heater, so I decided to go with another plumber, and I'm hoping I will have much better luck. I want to write a review of this company on BBB.org, but they are not listed on BBB. I would avoid this company at all costs, they will overcharge you and break things and overcharge you for the next repair.

Our gas meter was located in the basement of the house at the bottom of the step which is problematic as 1) you run into it every time you go down the stairs and 2) the gas company has to come into the house to read the meter. We wanted to move the meter outside. I can do most of my own work around the house (plumbing, electrical, etc.) but, when it comes to gas lines and A/C you need a license to even purchase the parts (meter set, line set, etc.). As a result, you need a licensed professional. Was also happy to turn over digging to someone else. However, I did do all of the research on the job. What size line was needed? How deep does the line have to be buried? What kind of connectors? Trace line? Pressure tests? As a result I pretty much knew what needed to happen. The servicemen showed up when they said they would. After looking at what I needed to do the technician proceeded to tell me that the trench needed to be deeper than what the code called for (because that's how we do things). He also pontificated on how I wasn't allowed to do my own electrical work because I didn't have a license - something I know is factually incorrect as the city code enforcement has, on multiple occasions, inspected and signed off on my work before closeout (you can work on your own electric). They have also signed off on my gas line work. In general, the serviceman insistent that he was right and I didn't know what I was talking about. As a result, I ended up having another company do the work. Not that I was pleased with their punctuality or responsiveness (didn't show up for first appointment and lied about a water emergency somewhere else, failed to get permit from city beforehand and ended up having to lie and say it was an emergency, didn't call Ms. Utility beforehand to get other lines marked, didn't know how to connect line to gas riser even though instructions were on connector, didn't finish burying line when they said they would, etc.). Guess they are lucky that they are not on Angie's list else I'd give a detailed review with a poor grade.

Our contractor did not put a trap on the kitchen sink in our house, presumably because the garbage disposal could serve as one. As a result, our kitchen reeked. I called Hughart's on Friday, January 24. Was told by the scheduler that they would be able to come by on Tuesday, January 27. Travis, the plumber, called me a little later on the 24th and said that he had time to come by and take a look that day. Travis and James came by minutes later. We saw that we probably wouldn't have room to place a trap under the sink in the cabinet, so James had the idea to place one in the basement where the pipe ran between the floor joists. They weren't able to complete the work that day because of time, but they did not charge me for the service call. I like the fact that they were able to troubleshoot and come up with a solution instead of going the trial-and-error route. Travis and James showed up early on the 27th to complete the work, which took them all of maybe 30 minutes. On both visits, they were extremely professional -- courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. I will definitely call them for any other issue in the future

Installers came out after I removed the old toilet and discovered the old flange had virtually disintegrated. They placed a new ring around the flange and mounted the new toilet with all the hardware. They were done really fast. Showed up the next day after my call as well. Little pricey, but friendly helpful guys.

Our toilet couldn't flush so my son called Hughart's, who immediately scheduled next-day service with Mr Fixit. We were as pleased as relieved when the technician confirmed before promptly arriving, and kindly and efficiently replaced the inner workings. He even assured us he would be available for any future urgent plumbing needs.

They were amazingly fast and professional. I am so grateful to them. Our pipes were leaking, and had rusted out the hot water heater. I called on Friday and made an appointment for Monday afternoon, which seems reasonable to me. They called early to confirm, arrived early, gave me a reasonable estimate (I'd done a bit of advance homework on what it should cost) and were in and out within about two hours. The plumbing is now up to code in my house, and I will have hot water within an hour. I thought they were excellent in every way, and I will recommend them to anyone who needs help with plumbing.

Our first request was for him to replace a valve coming from the hot water tank. He said it was just fine although there was sand like substance over the connection. He then replaced one hose on one of the commodes, replaced two shut off valves for the laundry tubs, replaced the cartiage in the shower next. He did check two other commode connections and said they were fine, although one does leak. After doing this work he told us not to use water for a couple of hours, and left. We waited over 3 hours and when we turned on the water, we had two leaks in both the shut off valves. We called him and he returned although he wanted to know if it couldn't wait until the next day. To be fair to him , he said the pipes at the laundry tubs were cut off to short and on the return trip he cut the wallboard out around both valves and redid them. It was plain that this plumber was not anxious to get to involved in his work.
Description of Work: Replaced two shut off valves for laundry tub ,replaced one hose from commode to shut off valve, replaced cartage in shower faucet. Looked at two other commodes which required no work, he said, but one does leak. The two shut off valves which he replaced required glue. he said not to turn water on for at least 2 hours, we waited over 3 and both of them leaked when the water was turned on. He wanted to come back the next day. The connecting pipe on the hot water was one of the first things we wanted repaired, he said they were just fine although there was a sand like substance at the joint, which usually says it is leaking. The man did not really want to work, , he said not to turn water on for at least 2 hours, we waited over 3 and both of them leaked when the water was turned on. He wanted to come back the next day. The connecting pipe on the hot water was one of the first things we wanted repaired, he said they were just fine although there was a sand like substance at the joint, which usually says it is leaking.
