"What a dumpster fire of an experience. This whole ordeal started 2 *years* ago. A sales lady, Becky, came and showed us different blinds. We picked some we liked and they said they would be out to install them in 6-8 weeks. Three months later after I called a few times to check up on what was going on they said the blinds had finally arrived and we scheduled an install. This is where things went from questionable to out and out bad. The dude they sent out to install was super unprofessional. He claimed to be doing this work for 15 years, yet he couldn't figure out how to detach the existing blinds. He kept asking for permission to break them because "the sun had fused the blinds to the brackets". Total nonsense. After showing him the blinds were not fused to anything, he only doubled down saying I didn't know what I was talking about. I wanted the blinds for another purpose, so I looked on youtube how to take down blinds, found a video which showed my bracket and the trick was to push backwards and twist. Got my blinds down without breakage. 15 years of experience, my ***. He installed blinds in other rooms, attempted to leave without taking the existing blinds, and only after he left did I find that he left brackets and hardware everywhere. Holey moley. Now this is where things really got fun. On the outdoor roller shades, the sales lady messed up the order. Since the rollers were outdoors, they were supposed to arrive in a "fascia" box that they roll up into to protect them from weather. They did not. They arrived naked and even the installer was confused. My instructions were to talk with the owner to see what could be done. He said that since I signed the contract without the roller shades saying "fascia", this was my mistake and there was nothing that could be done. He could reorder but I would have to pay for the new roller shades. I told him this was not acceptable and he said he would look into it and get back to me. The next I heard from his company was a year later in the form of an "overdue payment" bill. I didn't follow up prior to that because thus far I had only paid half, and cheap blinds for incomplete unprofessional service was a deal I was willing to accept. I spoke with the owner who said he had found a way to order just the fascia. This would cost more, but he was willing to split the cost with me and we could all put this behind us. I agreed in June, didn't hear back from them until I pinged them in September. New install was scheduled. The owner came out in person to install, and this is the richest part of the entire experience. A fascia isn't what Becky told us it was at the start! A fascia is a piece of metal in front of the blinds to hide the rollers from view. What I had actually asked for was (what I now know is called) a "cassette" for the blinds to roll up into. So this whole time I was asking for the wrong thing. They ordered the wrong thing and now I have the wrong thing installed. Even worse, the pull chain rubs on the fascia when I pull on it, making a grinding noise. I attempted some sort of pulley system to redirect the chain, but it didn't work out. I'm so done with this whole experience I'm just leaving it as is. But the point is, never again will I work with this company."

You can usually hire a drape cleaning service, a general cleaning service, or, in some cases, a professional dry cleaner to clean your drapes. These professionals will have the experience necessary to deep clean your drapes and curtains without damaging the material. A drape and curtain cleaning specialist is your best bet, as they will have the right experience, tools, and professional cleaning solutions at their disposal for the best results possible.
In some cases, it’s possible to clean your drapes yourself, but usually only if you can machine-wash the drapes. You can check the “how to wash” tag on the drapes for instructions. If the tag is missing or if the material is dry-clean only, we recommend leaving the work to a professional drape cleaner. Performing the wrong type of cleaning or using the wrong cleaning solutions on sensitive materials can destroy your drapes. A professional drapery cleaner will apply the correct solutions for safe, deep cleaning.
The average cost for drape cleaning services is around $100 per drape set, with most homeowners paying between $75 and $150. The price you can expect to pay depends on the size of the drapes or curtains, the material, and the number of sets. One cost-saving method is to hire a professional drapery cleaner to refresh multiple sets in one service. Drapes that are dry-clean-only will likely cost a bit more, as the cleaning process is more involved and might require your professional to remove them from your home, clean them off-site, and then reinstall them later.
You should dry clean your drapes twice per year: once in the spring and once in the fall. Cleaning drapes in the spring will remove dust, pet hair, pet dander, and other contaminants that build up during the winter, and cleaning them again in the fall will remove pollen and other outside contaminants that accumulate in your drapes in the spring and summer. You should consider cleaning your drapes three or four times per year if you have a lot of pets or if someone in your household has severe allergies.
Drape cleaning can be an expensive process, but it’s very often worth the investment. A professional drapery cleaner will remove odors stuck in the fabric from cooking, painting, exercising, and pets. The deep cleaning process will also remove allergens like dust, pollen, and pet dander. Ultimately, drape cleaning can help your home look and smell fresh, and maintain a healthy indoor air quality. Paying a professional for drape cleaning is worthwhile because it guarantees your cleaning solution won’t damage the material and necessitates a replacement.
