6 employees. Uses Licensed subs for irrigation, lighting, brick work and carpentry. You plant around your design, not design around your plants. Confusing? Upon meeting with a new client, most people will typically tell me of their favorite plant(s). Putting plants in the lead position of the design process will guarantee you a landscape that resembles your neighbors and every other house on the street and across the community. It’s like determining the colors you will use in your new house and you haven’t yet designed the house! Like colours, plants are a medium. You must provide context in order to give meaning. This is the hardscape or ‘bones’ referred to in garden literature. Be it a simple graveled path, a grouping of boulders, or obedient deference to existing topography, this is what will provide year-round interest. It is also the framework that will suggest and therefore help you choose which plants and their placement. The end result is an aesthetic and harmonious integration of hardscape and softscape elements. The Walkabout Way acknowledges the on-site environmental realities (ecozone, drainage, sun, shade etc..) and integrating these along with the clients desired outside intentions (active/passive use) as the basis for formulating a design theme. The end result is a naturalistic approach that is environmentally and ecologically sensitive, yet aesthetically pleasing regardless of the season.

Our goal at Collin County Sprinkler is to provide our customers with a high quality custom designed irrigation system at a fair price. We are a full service irrigation company in Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Allen, Lewisville, and surrounding areas of Dallas, TX. We offer repair services, residential and commercial installations, as well as drainage systems. We provide an industry leading three year warranty on materials and labor for all of our residential installations. Therefore, we use only the very best products and equipment. With a few exceptions, all the major irrigation manufacturers make both a good product and a lesser quality cheap product. So it is difficult to make a purchase decision based on a particular brand or another. The difference between a good sprinkler system and a poor one is the contractor that designs and installs it. Unlike many of our competitors, we do not enlist high pressure sales tactics in order to sell you an irrigation system. We simply provide you with our best price up front and on a timely basis. We do not require meeting with you in order to give you a bid. However, we will be glad to meet you at your request. Referral lists are also available upon request. Additional email: info@ccssprinkler.com.
"I would give them 0 stars if I could. In September, 2023, I had Collin County Sprinkler put in a drip line around my house to water the foundation. Also I had just planted a new tree in my back yard just 4 days earlier. I asked them to run irrigation to the new tree. I noticed after the crew left that they had removed one of the bubbler heads from a tree about 15 feet away, installed a T fitting from the first tree and attached supply line tubing to the new tree then attached the bubblers. Soon after, I noticed that the tree wasn’t setting watered properly. Another person showed up and told me that the bubblers were not adjusted properly. The adjusted them and it seemed to make it better at the time. Since the trees water before I wake up, I had not noticed the my new tree was not being watered properly, so when my grand sons come over, I had them to remove the bubbler heads from all 3 trees on the zone to see how far the water would shoot up in the air at each of the 3 trees. I was surprised that water was barely bubbling from one opening only. The other openings you could see water in the riser only. I called Collin County and was informed that it would be two weeks before anyone would be at my house. The finally came and was very punctually. After looking at the trees and taking off one head in the two tree rings that were in close proximity. After turning the water on, he said, the only way to fix this is to install a new zone to the tree that was installed last year and informed me that it would cost an additional $650 to have that done. The tech called Steve, the owner of the sprinkler company and was told by him that I was asked at the time if I wanted to put in a new zone and I turned it down. I WAS NEVER GIVEN THAT OPTION! The owner insisted that they did. How would he know for sure, he wasn’t the one that was here. I proceeded to ask the tech to have Steve call me to discuss the problem. Later in the day, a different person called to discuss the matter. All he did was parrot what Steve had told the tech earlier. I told him that apparently Steve didn’t have the balls to call a customer that wasn’t satisfied with the companies work, so he made him do it. So much for them guaranteeing their work. I think I read one reviewer say they guaranteed their work for 3 years. I think that is a little long. I had them install it, complained about the low pressure within the first month, complained about it again when they came out on April 2 to do a spring tune up and then come out on July 16th. On top of that I was charged ”a reduce rate” of $50 for a service call to look at a problem that they created. I would have thought if their techs were proficient in their trade, the would have mentioned that the tree needed a new zone— not only upon install, bit the other two times they were here instead of adjusting the bubbler heads and calling it fixed. If ir wasn’t going to work properly, they had 3 opportunities to tell me before I was finally told. I know this has been a long review and I chose them because of the large amount of 5 star reviews they have. However, if you use them, you do carry the chance of being the next one star reviewer. Save yourself the frustration and find a different sprinkler company for your irrigation needs."

Steve K. Swenson, is a design build landscape company with degreed landscape architects as designers. We offer both design / consultation as well as full installation. We specialize in older landscape renovations.
"Steve was very quick once i called him and immediately scheduled the appointment. Asked for a copy of the property survey which was provided to him, he left with survey, he never measured anything and left saying they are 2 months out. His visit was on April 12th..so far no estimate. Contacted multiple times via phone, text, and email, no response, only picked up the call once and said let me check what's going on with estimate, never heard back from him. It was not a small project. Guess he doesn't want our business. There are many to choose from out there."

Over decades serving the DFW Metroplex, we earned our reputation for superior service – accomplishing an "A" grade with Angie and 4.8 stars with Google Reviews. "I was in panic mode! Just spent $$$$ to have new St. Augustine sod planted in the many bare areas in my lawn. The landscaper advised me to water the lawn three times per week. When the sprinklers ran the first time, one zone stopped early, another zone did not run at all and yet another zone would not stop running until the controller was unplugged. In addition, several sprinklers were not operating properly, and some sprinklers had been improperly covered by new sod pieces. After some quick research on Angi, I called Moore Sprinkler Company. They made a special effort to get to my yard that same day, and their team of two technicians spent 1.25 hours locating all of the problems and correcting them with adjustments and new parts. The entire sprinkler system is now working great! I will certainly call Moore again for sprinkler system maintenance and repairs."

Low-voltage landscape lighting costs about $120 per fixture to install. You may need to install a 12-volt transformer, too, to ensure the lighting system runs safely. For a six-fixture low-voltage landscape lighting setup, expect to pay around $1,000. A major reason people choose low-voltage landscape lighting is to reduce the risk of shock, making it safer to operate the outdoor lighting system.
Professional landscape lighting is typically worth the investment to improve your home’s curb appeal, safety, and security. Additionally, landscape lighting can add value to your home, creating a brightly-lit outdoor space that you can use after dark. According to the National Association of Realtors, landscaping lighting can add $2,500 to your home’s value. On average, this type of home improvement has a 50% return on investment.
There are tons of different types of landscape lighting available, including the choice between solar and wired, incandescent and LED, and a variety of colors. Specific types of lighting include:
Pathway lights: $50–$150 per fixture
String lights: $50–$150
Low-voltage lights: $90–$150 per fixture
Porch lights: $65–$250 per fixture
Floodlights: $75–$250 per fixture
Downlights: $100–$400 per fixture
Uplights: $100–$400 per fixture
Security lights: $ 350–$500 per fixture
Lamp posts: $400–$1,100 per lamp post
Landscape lighting costs about $4,000 on average, ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on the amount of lighting, type of lights, and your location. Additional cost factors include any electrical work, excavation and trenching, and the current landscaping that the contractor has to work around. You can expect to pay an average of $100 for pathway and string lighting, and about $700 for lamp post lighting.
The five common types of landscape lighting are up-lighting, down-lighting, spotlights, built-in lighting, and pathway lighting.
Up-lighting casts light upwards from the ground, mostly for aesthetic purposes.
Down-lighting directs light onto the ground, lighting pathways, or outdoor space.
Spotlights cast direct, focused lighting in any direction.
Built-in lighting integrates lighting into an outdoor feature.
Pathway lighting illuminates walkways, increasing safety.
