"On Sep 26, Tiffany came and looked at the condo. She gave me an estimate of $750 for cracks and she sent one guy for an estimate for painting. Several days later she said the painter was too high and she would give me another estimate. Several days later she sent the estimate, of $4,749 for crack repairs and painting. Estimated time 3 days to complete. I also told her that I needed doors painted, and she said she would add to the contract (she didn't, but I have a text message to prove she agreed). I verbally accepted the proposal and asked how and when I should pay. Tiffany said 50% upfront to start the project and the rest when the job was completed and suggested paying by check. Oct 7. Tiffany came for the check and said workers would start the next day. Oct 8. One guy came, took pictures of all the cracks, and said he was going to buy the material and would be back in 1 hour or so. 3 hours later Tiffany sent a text message saying "The guys got stuck at another job and would be back the next day". Oct 9. 2 workers came and worked on the kitchen and living room for 6 hrs. Tiffany came and complained to me that it was too cluttered and I needed to move furniture and make sure walls were free so workers could move. I did as requested and when the guys returned from lunch walls were free of furniture. Oct 10. 2 guys came to work for 6 hours. Oct 11. Just 1 guy came and worked for 1 hour. Oct 12, 1 guy came and worked 3 hours. Oct 14. 2 guys came to work for 6 hours. Oct 15. 1 guy came and worked for 6 hours. By this time 1 week had passed and they were not still finished with the kitchen and living room. Oct 16. Tiffany came and complained again that the walls were not free of cluttered stuff. I showed her the space and showed her what workers had done so far. At this point, she said the boss (Nick) had told her that the guys were taking too long to complete because workers had to move furniture around (even after showing her that walls were free) and said they wanted me to charge 1,750 more. I said 1,000 was my limit and she agreed. I reiterated to her (as I have been telling the workers as well since day 1) that I was willing to help move any furniture, to just tell me which one. At this point, she said "At this point, just let the guys do the moving, don't worry about it". Later, by the invoice, I learned she said that the extra $1,000 that they charged was because of that and extra materials for cracks to fill. Also, she added another $162 for extra general material (tape, sand, texture, etc.). When she left she said she would send 1 guy to work half day. "The first red flag is representing himself as Steve Perez on Angi’s list when in fact his name is Ziv. There’s the hard sell and false promises (finish a kitchen remodel in 5-6 weeks) when it took 4 months. Unprofessionalism is an understatement. He communicates through texting like a teenager and screams at the client when in fact errors are his fault or his sub-contractors. We provided appliance specs very early in the process and the electrician still made errors for which Ziv wanted us to pay for. The cabinets delivered were incomplete which he blamed on us. He demanded a final payment and threatened to put a lean on our house when the work was incomplete per the contract. Then Subs starting calling demanding payment which was resolved after we provided cashed checks to Sonart Construction. Don’t believe what I say. Read the BBB review complaints for a well-deserved F rating."
