"Avoid the Odes side by side machines sold by Tanslee at all cost. My wife and I purchased an Odes Dominator 800 about a month ago. On the 3rd ride the machine’s radiator blew out drenching my 8 month old son, wife, and two year old son in radiator fluid. It took Tanslee almost 3 weeks to repair the machine. They found the issue to be a manufacturer defect and repaired several more issues. (The Company has refused to provide me with a detailed list of items repaired after 3 documented requests). Tanslee also refused to cover the 1st $200 tow bill. The same day the repaired unit was brought to my home, I took my family for a ride. Oil pressure light illuminated, the unit begins to smoke and the engine shuts off. (The first day back). Tanslee covered the tow bill on this incident. They reported that the oil lines were defective and every line on the machine needed to be replaced. (Granted I have an inspection form from Tanslee stating that they checked these lines before sending the unit back to me). The third try was not any better. The unit oil pressure light now illuminated and temp light engages after about 30 minutes of use. I have let the dealer know about these issues and have not had a response. I have requested a refund for the defective product. Tanslee has simply ignored this request... literally ignored. (Even thought the owner said he understood why I would not want the machine anymore after sending my wife, 8 month old, and two year old walking home after just having the machine in the shop for the other defective issues). I now am having to resort in utilizing an attorney to file a suit against Tanslee and complaints with the state and federal department of consumer affairs. Buyers Beware - seriously."

"I dropped off my mower on August 11. On August 13, I received a voicemail saying that my mower would be looked at later that week and then I would receive a call. That was the last time I heard from them. Today, September 26, I picked up my mower because they still hadn’t looked at it I called and emailed at least three times a week for 7 weeks, and they could never get back to me. When I finally got someone on the phone, I was told “the owner wants to see you.” I made an appointment for this morning at 9:00am, and no one wa there. I called at 9:15 and was told that someone would be there soon. I returned at 9:25 and gave them my name and told them that I needed my mower. The owner that, “wanted to see me”, was strangely absent when I was there These folks are unprofessional, slow, uncaring, and unorganized."

Lawn mower repairs typically range from $40 to $90, with most people spending right around $60. However, your final total will depend on the type of lawn mower you have, the repair needed, and part availability.
Lawnmowers require seasonal maintenance to continue working correctly. With routine maintenance, you can extend its life to the fullest, which is around 10 years for push mowers and 5-8 years for riding mowers. To keep your lawn mower working correctly, you’ll want to take the following steps at least once a year:
Replace the spark plug
Change the oil
Drain the fuel tank
Clean the mowing deck (ideally, after every mow)
Replace the air filter
Check the carburetor
Sharpen the blades
Fog the engine
Check the tires
Before your lawn mower quits working entirely, it’ll likely give you some signs of wear and tear that indicate a repair is needed. Signs that you might need repairs to your lawn mower include:
Oil leaks
Vibrating engine
Smoking exhaust
Increase in time to mow
Unusual noises
Increase in gas consumption
If you are a skilled DIYer with experience, you can do certain lawn mower repairs yourself. However, if you’ve never worked on a lawn mower before or if your mower needs extensive repairs, it’s best to let a skilled lawn mower technician work on your machine. While it might be a little more expensive due to the cost of labor, nothing beats knowing that the job was done successfully (and often with warranties).
In many cases, it might be cheaper to repair your lawn mower than to replace it, depending on what needs to be repaired. The cost to replace a lawn mower dramatically varies, from $60 for basic models to over $15,000 for the top-of-the line models.
Small repairs like a spark plug replacement can be as little as $20, so replacing the whole lawn mower wouldn’t make much sense. However, repairing a crankshaft could be much more expensive at $500 to $900, so depending on the age of your mower, it might be best to replace it. It’s best to speak with your lawn mower repair technician to determine which option is best for you.
