"On 6/1/2022 a technician shows up for a water leak under my home, the tech was friendly, on time, and professional, in appearance. I point out where the leak is, after 30 minutes he says the main pipe is probably plugged which created additional weight, possibly stretching supports and as a result the shower drain pipe had been disconnected. He said he would write up a quote, and I was shocked to find it was for 10k. I refused service but asked for a detailed write up for what needed because I was paying an $89.00 Regular Service Fee (29-89) and another fee, MISC level 1 1 which was $97.00 for god knows what. Here is the write up I received from the technician.(More commentary below) "END TASKS*/ upon arrival customer had leak in crawl space and shower has disconnected the reason this disconnected is due to the weight of the sewer line this line is full of water and when wisher is ran it backs up out of this line causing a leak this line has fallen in ,multiple spots and is sagging in multiple spots this is abs piping. I gave options to repipe both bathrooms and then after run camera to locate septic tank. The reason customer is not backing up into house is because everything comes out this shower drain. Simple math tells me I could pay a guy 100$ an hour for 97 hours, or 2 full weeks and then some at that rate. I thought to myself, ok, he does not want to do the work so he priced himself out. I am ok with that, but the business owner should be made aware of what is going on and cut these guys loose because there are plenty of other options out there. I am also shocked at the lack of detail for pricing, for 10k I need know specifically what is being done, on a line by line basis. After all, I paid almost 200 dollars and I would like to think I am owed that much. One last detail, I did call in and spoke to "Angel" who said she would relay my concerns and that someone would be calling me back. I am not holding my breath."

"Reading all these reviews makes me laugh. Kent came to my home to pump my septic tank. He spent the first 30 minutes whining about the location of the tank, you know, like a little baby girl. He then proceeded to open my clogged toilet, turned to my wife (who has Crohn's disease), and exclaimed "EWW", you know, like a little baby girl. On his way out, he decided to get one last jab in on my wife who was feeling humiliated, embarrassed, scared, and frustrated, "Y'all need to quit eating all that Taco Bell." Now, I don't want to be too ho*** ** Kent; he's just a poor little baby girl who was forced into being a plumber and having to look at poopy. I truly feel bad for Kent, and I hope Mr. Rooters will allow Kent to find a new job that is more fitting for a little baby girl like Kent. He's a princess and deserves to be treated as such! Upon calling and speaking to a manager, I was informed that they would look into it and perhaps do some "retraining." I assume this retraining must consist of "Everybody Poops 101" and "How Not to Attack People with Chronic Illnesses for Beginners." However, I have the feeling that Kent "Little baby girl afraid of poopy" Clemons will not learn much, and it doesn't change the fact that I paid $1800 to have my wife heckled by a little baby girl disguised as a full-grown a** man. Find another plumber or request that they send out an adult and not a child, like Kent Clemons."

"I have a yearly contract with Waldrop for servicing my HVAC unit twice a year. On Oct 16th, Clark came to my house for the fall servicing. He was professional, yet friendly, and very thorough. When he finished, he explained all that he had investigated and/or worked on complete with a plethora of pictures of the locations. I had no concerns prior to this service and definitely have had no concerns since then. My unit is ready for the colder months and I know that if it does develop problems I can have a Waldrop tech at my house very quickly. Thanks Waldrop for maintaining and training an excellent crew. Hint: Hang on to Clark. He is a treasure."

Yes, most states require a plumber to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Check our state licensing tool to review the local plumber guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Fixing a gas leak costs about $45 to $150 per hour for a plumber or gas line specialist. The job’s overall cost will vary depending on the location of the leak. A leaky junction or connection behind the stove or dryer will likely cost about $120 to $170. But for a leak that requires a gas fitter or plumber to excavate a pipe in the yard, the cost could rise to $1,500 to $5,000. Keep in mind that gas leaks are very serious issues, so don’t hesitate to contact a plumber or gas line specialist immediately.
Fixing a gas leak can take anywhere from one to 24 hours, depending on the location and magnitude of the problem. A gas line specialist or gas plumber should be able to give you an estimated time to completion once they evaluate the situation. If your city’s utility company works to fix a gas leak, it will likely have information available about the anticipated time for gas service to be restored.
The cost of repairing a gas leak depends on the type of leak, its severity, and how difficult it is for the repair technician to reach it. Some of the most common gas line repair costs, on average, include:
Cap a gas line: $75–$150
Gas system inspection: $150
Pressure test: $75–$500
Damaged or corroded pipe: $6–$7 per linear foot
Repair gas leak: $120–$5,000
A local natural gas plumber, gas fitter, or gas line specialist should fix gas leaks. Installing gas lines and connections improperly can lead to dangerous gas leaks and explosions. Only a certified plumber or gas line specialist should run gas lines. This is not a job to try out DIY skills, so hire a professional gas plumber or gas line specialist immediately to find the cause of the leak and fix it quickly.
