PECO HEATING and COOLING

It was done that day. Excellent people. They came and they were fantastic.

Absolutely great, as with Joey's last two visits. This young man really knows what he's doing, and it's wonderful to be able to rely on him when electrical problems exceed my limited DIY skills.

The technician was on time and efficient. He diagnosed and fixed a pipe that was leaking on the upper level of the house. It was causing a lot of damage to the ceilings in our kitchen and in the basement bathroom ceiling. Because this is an older house, and was built by a complete novice, there was a 2nd badly placed drain pipe that was not initially visible. The technician returned as soon as the company was informed and this leak was fixed within an hour!

We had two heat and a/c units that had to be replaced at our home. We got 4 estimates for replacing the units. PECO was by far the best estimate. We were getting estimates on exactly the same units from each contractor. The units were high efficiency units, which will reduce our energy bill and lessen damage to the environment. PECO had access to rebates and discounts reducing the over all cost. They ordered both units and after they came in had them both installed in one day. We had blessed heat (and cooling) at a reasonable price. Their office staff was easy to work with. They get an A+ from me!!

The repair was timely and effective. The technician and the office were very professional. Texts and emails were used effectively to confirm appointment status, schedule and status.

Very professional, knowledgeable technicians who took great care to understand the owner's requirements, and customize a system to meet the owner's needs. Getting PECO involved on the front end of the house design was good for all parties involved.

Work was excellent but had to wait over a week for a part.

Price was reasonable. They did a great job. They are very responsive. Punctuality was great. I will call them again, I need to call them now. They pay attention to detail. There was one time a fan blade needed to be replaced. They didn't replace it correctly the first, they noticed it and actually fabricated the part in their shop to make it right. They communicated the issue and gave me a reasonable time to get it done.

They were not good. They didn't even fix it. It turned out my air conditioner needed to be replaced. First, I had made the arrangement through Angie's List for a coupon to get the service. When the guy came out, he didn't talk to me about the cost or anything. He just started doing the repairs. He was trying to charge me over $200 because he didn't recognize that I had purchased a coupon. I just wanted to get a diagnosis and he just started doing the work. He wasn't paying attention to me and still wanted to charge me over $200 for the service anyway. I reached out to Angie's List and we ended up dropping the extra $200 charge. Overall, I would not work with them again. Their overall attitude was not professional in my honest opinion

After putting in a tank less water heater well. I asked if they could put put a new faucet and regulator on our tub and shower. The faucet remains loose, the water flow is terrible and the shower head leaks. The job cost $540.00 and remains poorly done. They came back 2x and the problems still exist. I called customer service and the person said "well you know guys will be guys". 2 people came back and said "well that's the best that can be done". I am going to need to pay to have it fixed.

Had condensation problem with refrigeration pipe. Office reception lady was polite, the technician came on time, and I was told that it is due to bad air flow and coil freezing. The technician installed a safety switch for dripping pan (around $120) and cleaned the outside unit (around $120). I was grateful until finding on the second day lots of water under the safety switch - which was not there before, and realizing that the insulation above the switch was broken - probably during the installation of switch! I was asking them to solve my problem instead of creating one! Also the condensation problem still persists. I called the office and they said "we will see what we can do". Never got any reply, while my pipeline is still dripping water crazy - and even more near the safety switch. It is appalling to see myself paying money to get myself into more trouble.

The technician arrived on time asked appropriate questions and then quickly got the appropriate work done. He gave advice on how to keep the system in proper working order. The technician was knowledge, nice, and professional. I signed up for the service contract and would recommend this company to a friend.

They were very professional and courteous . They answered all my emails and phone calls.

They were supposed to just do a diagnostics call and recommend and give me pricing information if anything was wrong. They did not tell me what was wrong, he stayed outside and when he found out what was wrong, he did not tell me anything, he just went ahead and did more work. They did not even fix the problem, he said they just 'remedied' the problem. I was not prepared to pay for what they were going to do, and I did not agree to it. They did not communicate with me on pricing before anything was done. I did not know I needed to ask him anything because it was just supposed to be a diagnostics call.

Technician wasn't here more than 15 or 20 minutes. I didn't feel that he provided much in the way of service.

Paid $59.95 for a diagnostic service call through an Angie's offer. Tech spent < 10 min determining that there was no power to the unit. We went to the circuit board and found that I had forgotten to flip the circuit breaker back on. (I had turned it off to install a new thermostat).Turned the circuit back on. Everything worked perfectly. All he did was a very brief diagnosis. Felt that the ~$60 that I paid for a diagnostic call (and being an idiot for overlooking the circuit breaker) should have covered it, but they charged me an additional $25. $85 in total for about 30 minutes time (if that). So much for the discount in Angie's offer. Prompt, courteous, competent tech,.but some price gouging from headquarters. Hate to see what they'd charge if something had actually been wrong. Was interested in a $195 maintenance agreement and some $300 in additional electrical work for an additional line, but won't consider that after seeing how they padded the bill for doing nothing more than watching me flip a circuit breaker back on. Not a smart business move. Ah well, business as usual.

Squirrel cage fan had actual dead squirrels wedged into the housing - causing a high head pressure that stopped the unit from working. .removed fan and cleared the issue and reinstalled. Do a FULL checkup of the system and gave it a clean bill of health.

Added some coolant to system and explained that it's better for me to add coolant once a year rather than anything else. It made since.

This was a big job and a good deal of it was done long distance. There were no surprises or sudden problems that required increasing the quoted price. This is a dependable group of people. They did exactly what we asked and were time efficient and thorough. At first we hired them for only the HVAC work, but we were so impressed that when we found out they did electrical work also, we extended our contract to include those services. The job went smoothly and all the people we were in contact with were friendly and knowledgeable.

Technician was delayed on another project, but once he arrived he quickly diagnosed the issue and replace the capacitor.

In brief: fixed--perfectly, so far. He's very professional, very patient; a real gold standard in every way I think and such a relief. I found PECO largely because of the excellent reviews in Angie's list and I wanted to add tho them to help the next person.

Our air conditioner went out on Saturday afternoon so I called for help. I couldn't reach them on the phone directly, but was able to fill out the "Contact Me" form on their website and got a call a few minutes later. Their technician came less than 90 minutes later, and quickly identified and repaired the issue. He was friendly and professional. I appreciated not being charged an emergency service call and felt the overall cost was very reasonable.

He was very informative. Figured out the problem and fixed it quickly. Gave us ideas about how to avoid future problems. Very friendly.
