Description of Work: Where do I start? I got lured in two years ago by a special introductory rate for oil delivery. The first year I thought they were fine. Last year when my initial fixed rate oil delivery contract was up I initially didn't call them up for a new fixed rate. Big mistake. They tried to charge me $3.99 a gallon for oil when everyone else was charging $2.99 or less. Only way to get a better price was another year long fixed rate contract. Took it only because they had already delivered the oil. Had to get the oil line replaced in May. They were responsive and replaced the line for $400. Really didn't know at the time whether that was a good price or not but went ahead with it because it really wasn't something we could wait on doing. Yesterday no heat. Found out from their technician an obvious part was not added to the new line. Technician last night did not think much of the job done in May. Quote of $700 for the additional part from very unfriendly technician who seemed to think we were wasting his time. Plus $175 for service call for something that was their fault. Don't know whether to fight that or just pay it to get rid of them. Got a quote from another company for less than half the price for the new part. And I'm not even a customer of the other company yet. Now I know they are overpriced for service. And can't even ensure good work. On top of trying to rip me off for oil delivery. They may have been responsive but that's about it. Will be changing providers as soon as possible.

Description of Work: DDM provided our oil last year. their pricing turned out to be very high and we ran out of oil twice - and they still charged us for emergency refills. the techs were very good - very helpful - but we are using others in the future..... and they did not seem to care that they lost us. Oh well.........

+ -1 moreCheck all fine print and look at all your options before committing. Customer loyalty is a thing of the past with these folks and they will ring out the last penny you have. Apparently they have all the customers they need.
Description of Work: My oil burner service and deliver folks for 18 years. The past 2 years they have taken advantage of the increase in oil costs and pushed the envelope. The "capped" price for oil quoted this year was $4.19 and the monthly budget was $450+. I could not afford that so I paid for the service contract $319 not realizing this was still obligating me to buy their oil. I also believed they would only bring oil when called. This week they pumped 112 gal. into my tank and left a bill for $484.50 or $4.299 a gal, 10 cents higher per gal. then the original price. Checking a number of other services which service my area I found prices from $3.89 all the way down to $3.49 with no contract or other obligation involved. When we called hoping that maybe customer loyalty and the facts might get a positive resolution. The offer was to lock in my price at $3.929 (3 cents higher then my highest price) and I would be required to pay a $250 fee to join the party late! In the way of customer loyalty they were willing to give me a $75 discount on this penalty. In light of their offer I can buy oil for the rest of the season and find a new service contract all for a savings rather then pay them. To their credit they have always been very prompt in both delivery and service and, other then they tried over the last two years to be the second highest bill in my budget and gave no credit for longevity, they have always been professional.

+ -1 moreThey told me they could complete the job in one day and they did! Very professional, polite and efficient installers. If you are agonizing over what company to use.....I was VERY happy with the entire process with DDM.
Description of Work: I had a 50+ year old heater replaced. DDM came out to the house and gave me an estimate and made a couple of recomendations. When the work was completed there were no additional "surprise" costs. They requested a deposit BUT gave me 24 month, no interest, payment plan for the balance. As a retiree how great was that?

+ -1 morethey found that the heat exchanger on the furnace was cracked. this means you have to replace the furnace, gave me optinos and had their installation manager contact me and gave me options and estimates on different combinations of furnace and central a/c units. Good compnay that I've a service contract with for 5 years. Responsive. Work done as described, you are informed before they do anything beyond that.

Description of Work: I'm sorry I don't remember the actual cost, but I know it was very reasonable. Our oil fired boiler was going into the 2009-2020 heating season with numerous service calls and it was pronounced dead in October 2009. It was time for a new boiler and I had several estimates to work with. I chose DDE because they were able to understand my needs, and also help me convert from an oil system to a gas system. They did an amazing job! My contract included oil tank removal (we had two) and they took them away and there's not a trace of them in the cellar. The new boiler is quiet, efficient and saves me lots of money.

+ -1 moreThey did an excellent job. They were one of few contractors that before the job was started delineated everything that would be done down to the valve level. They put in a great heating system. They were very clean and cleaned their job well. All around they seem to be a good bunch of contractors for heating. They give you a payment plan. They do a reference check. You pay the boiler off over the course of the year without interest which was a big plus. When I called to get a warranty contract for the boiler they were priced higher than another contractor. A lot of contractor measure the size of the room to figure out the BTU. They came out and measured the size each radiator in the house to determine the right size boiler, which is the proper way of doing it.
Description of Work: They replaced our boiler system which was probably installed in the fifties.
