"We had the best experience with this contractor! Starting with Clark the onsite supervisor he's very knowledgeable, professional and a great communicator. He made sure that we knew what was going on and the plan for the next day. Our job took about 4 weeks and we were totally comfortable having them in our home everyday. Matt, Sam and Eric were all awesome and we were very happy with their hard work! This team did a great job! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor that does what they say they're going to do. Thank you Clark, Matt, Sam and Eric good luck to you all!"

"The automatic pool cover business is dominated by a few large companies that become an effective monopoly after you’ve bought a cover from one of them and its exclusive local dealer. This manufacturer-dealer duo then has the opportunity to act exactly as you’d expect a monopolist would. In my experience, Solar Pool Covers took advantage of that power. The price for installing its equipment was good, and they did a good job installing it. But they have the option to get you on the repairs, where they have you over the barrel. On labor, they lowballed me on how much time they thought the repair would take and then worked slowly on the job (to be fair, it was a hot, muggy day). On parts, the manufacturer doesn’t disclose the price of parts on its website, except to its dealers. So Solar Pool Covers could mark up its parts price by a factor of five and then when I called them out on it acknowledge that they bundled the price of labor installing the part with the cost of the part. It was the first time I ever received a bill where labor and parts had separate line items (nothing unusual there)--but with the parts item including a hidden labor charge not in the separate labor line item. An additional part was also not listed specifically but under the larger more expensive system it was a component of, which effectively hid the name of the part that was replaced. After a service man does a job, I usually ask for a copy of the bill and then pay it then and there with a credit card. This dealer’s service man refused to give me the price of the job after it was finished, saying that he didn’t have time to fill out the bill and that time would need to be included in the bill. I’m giving them a C rather than an F because I had no problem with the work they did. The problem was the amount and way they charged for it."

"I contracted Anthony & Sylvan Pools in February of 2023 for an custom in-ground pool. This pool would cost approximately $300,000 to build. The first person I spoke with was Rudy Dermo, who had committed to a May/June 2023 start date. I returned back to Pennsylvania in July of 2023, only to see the pool had not even yet been started. After contacting A&S, the process had finally started. The original contract we signed stated completion by August of 2023. After the still (to this day) unexplained delay to construction start, I was still assured the pool would be complete by September of 2023. After a never-ending list of excuses and delays, ranging from "we can't find concrete for your pool" to "we can't locate the tile you selected", along with multiple brand-new, top of the line equipment malfunctions, I am now writing this review on April 20th of 2024. The pool is still not complete. This is well over a year from the time I signed the contract with A&S. The project manager, Mat Hill, seems to be "bothered" by coming to my property. Imagine that. Someone gets a contract for a $300,000 pool and is "bothered" by it. Communicating with A&S Pools is like pulling teeth. You constantly get shuffled around from scheduler to scheduler. You never seem like you're the priority to them, but instead, you're more of an inconvenience. Sometimes, weeks will go by before you hear from a single A&S employee. Your job site will sit, vacant, without any work being done, for the entirety of that time. This company is dishonest, disingenuous, cookie-cutter, and absolutely the worst professional experience I have ever had in my 40 years of life. When you contract a company for a job such as this, you expect (and utterly demand) professionalism. You expect a certain level of care. A certain level of responsibility for the money they've taken from you for the job. What I received in this particular case was the exact opposite of those things. I am dismayed at the lack of professional standard. From Rudy Dermo, to Harald Bottke, to JR Goldberg, and all the way down to Mat Hill. This company should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. A lawsuit is being drafted in Pennsylvania court. I will be suing Anthony & Sylvan Pools for the entire balance of the $300,000 contract that I signed with them. I fully intend to win every penny of this contract back."

The cost to repair a hot tub or spa ranges from about $170 to $550, depending on the repairs needed. Some of the most common hot tub repairs include leaks, clogged filters, and tripped GFCI breakers. If it’s an electrical problem, you should contact a professional hot tub repair service. Don’t DIY electrical repairs on a hot tub, as poorly repaired wiring can make the hot tub a serious electrocution hazard.
The average cost of an above-ground pool is between $1,100 and $5,700. Costs will vary depending on the type of pool you install. The low end of the price range includes a DIY kit for around $800 and goes up to about $15,000 for a custom pool with extra features like a deck and water features. Building an above-ground pool is much faster than installing an inground one. The cost tends to be much lower for an above-ground pool than for an inground pool because there’s less labor involved, especially when it comes to excavation and running plumbing and electrical lines.
Pool repair costs vary depending on the type of pool. Repairing an inground pool ranges from $350 to $2,700, depending on the extent of the repairs needed. Repairs to an above-ground pool usually cost $100 to $700. The most common repairs include patching or replacing the vinyl pool liner, fixing plumbing or electrical lines, and repairing pumps, filters, and other equipment.
Installing an inground pool costs around $55,000, on average. The typical price range is between $39,000 and $70,000, depending on the size and type of pool and accessibility of the site. This project requires an experienced pool installation contractor as the project usually involves extensive excavation, plumbing, electrical, concrete, and careful grading of the concrete or pavers around the pool.
From start to finish, building an inground pool takes anywhere from two to four months. Factors that impact time to completion include any weather delays, material delays or shortages, scheduling conflicts, and any unforeseen challenges. The project may take most of the pool season, depending on where you live. Because of this, it’s a good idea to start getting estimates and finding a qualified pool company at least a year before your anticipated installation. Spring and summer is the busy season for pool contractors, which impacts their availability as projects are typically booked for several weeks if not months.
