We are a Mobile RV repair and installation service. Our shop rate is $100 service call and $150 an hour. That sure beats a $500 towing charge or unhooking everything to drive your rig to a far away shop so you can get on the calendar to repair your rig.

"Fantastic. Tuck solved the problem quickly and accommodated all of my additional minor repair requests. He was great to work with."

"Called Bill to fix our intermittently working AC. He showed up and said it needed a regular service and refrigerant. 2 days later, it started doing the same thing again, so I called him. He came over and told us it needed a new thermostat. I ordered one and when it arrived, he came by to install it. Again, 2 days later, the AC started working intermittently. I texted him telling him it wasn't working. He asked some questions and said he'll try to fit us in the next day (see photo of texts). In that text, he also said he was guessing at the problem... not sure why someone who has been doing this for 30 years, as he told me, would need to guess. So I waited until the next day, and I also texed him to let him know what the system was doing in order to help him with a diagnosis, even though he's the professional. I waited and waited. 5pm came around and he finally replied saying he had 3 other clients to get to but he'd try. After that, he never replied (see photo of texts). I continued to try to get an answer as to whether he was even going to show up at all. I was completely baffled that he couldn't even take 2 seconds to text back and tell me he couldn't come by. I even said I hated bothering him... as if that's what I wanted to spend my time doing. Meanwhile, our house was extremely hot, and I didn't know if I should try calling someone else and starting over. I hesitated because we paid this guy almost $400 to fix the problem, and it wasn't fixed. We were existing customers who still had the same problem. Should we not be a priority? Had he just replied and said he didn't know what the problem was and/or he wasn't coming back and offered even a small refund, I could've dealt with that and moved on. My husband insisted that Bill was one of those smooth talkers who just wants to take your money and be gone. I believe that now and remember him talking over me a lot while he was here, which bothered me. We even tried to contact him the next day. My thought was that something happened to him. He seemed so helpful and nice while he was here. Hard to believe people can act like that. The cherry on top was when my husband, who hates any and all confrontation, decided to call him a few days later to get some answers. Surprisingly, Bill answered. He acted like he didn't know who we were (I'm sure because he was caught off guard). Once he finally "remembered" us, he told my husband that I was pushy and I kept texting him. Seriously? I was trying to help the guy form a diagnosis because he couldn't do it on his own. He left us hanging on purpose, when we could have been calling another company to fix the issue. He then hung up on my husband! Who runs a business like that? Just awful. The other frustration for me is that I sent him a referral the day after his first visit, and he got paid on that one too. Bill didn't know what the problem was (with all of his expertise), left us to assume he was returning, and then blamed me? He was certainly happy to cash our checks though, just like my husband said. I'm disgusted by this man and more than upset that I sent him a good referral."

Gas leak repairs FAQs

Yes, most states require a plumber to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Check our state licensing tool to review the local plumber guidelines.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Fixing a gas leak costs about $45 to $150 per hour for a plumber or gas line specialist. The job’s overall cost will vary depending on the location of the leak. A leaky junction or connection behind the stove or dryer will likely cost about $120 to $170. But for a leak that requires a gas fitter or plumber to excavate a pipe in the yard, the cost could rise to $1,500 to $5,000. Keep in mind that gas leaks are very serious issues, so don’t hesitate to contact a plumber or gas line specialist immediately.

Fixing a gas leak can take anywhere from one to 24 hours, depending on the location and magnitude of the problem. A gas line specialist or gas plumber should be able to give you an estimated time to completion once they evaluate the situation. If your city’s utility company works to fix a gas leak, it will likely have information available about the anticipated time for gas service to be restored.

The cost of repairing a gas leak depends on the type of leak, its severity, and how difficult it is for the repair technician to reach it. Some of the most common gas line repair costs, on average, include:

  • Cap a gas line: $75–$150

  • Gas system inspection: $150

  • Pressure test: $75–$500

  • Damaged or corroded pipe: $6–$7 per linear foot

  • Repair gas leak: $120–$5,000

A local natural gas plumber, gas fitter, or gas line specialist should fix gas leaks. Installing gas lines and connections improperly can lead to dangerous gas leaks and explosions. Only a certified plumber or gas line specialist should run gas lines. This is not a job to try out DIY skills, so hire a professional gas plumber or gas line specialist immediately to find the cause of the leak and fix it quickly.
