Everything went very well. We had a great team for the install. They were professional, nice and took the time to do the job right even though it meant coming back another day for just an hour. We had looked at Carpet at two other places and weren't warm and fuzzy. We had one privately owned company come measure and give us a quote and the price was higher than we would have liked and the measures were higher than what we calculated. We called Matt and he met us THAT SAME AFTERNOON at our house with samples. He measured and provided a quote right then. The price was in line with what we had estimated to spend and the carpet was a good quality and comparable to what we had looked at previously. We were happy and wrote a check for the deposit before he left. I would definitely use this company again if I were in the area.
Description of Work: Cincinnati Window and Floor Coverings installed carpet and pad in most of our 4 BD house including a partially finished basement.
Matt Bliemeister was recommended to us by our contractor (Oakley Home Improvement/Chris Lewis) who was working on a kitchen remodel for us. I would not recommend Cincy Floor/Window to anyone I know. While Matt was very courteous and professional, the work was horrible. Since the company was busy, he sub-contracted our work out to an independent contractor - a man named "Mario". The scheduling between the contractor & flooring was non-existent, though I had been told that they always work together. This disconnect could possibly due to the contractor "Mario" completing the work - but that was my experience. The flooring went in over 2 or 3 days, but we were not in the home while the work was being completed due to the simulateneous work in process with our kitchen. Once we were back home, several major problems became readily apparent: 1. All the paint on the baseboards was chipped, but instead of allowing us time to fix the trim boards were nailed to the chipped base boards. We had to re-paint all baseboards painstakingly by hand, whereas if they had simply told us the paint had chipped we could have fixed it prior to the trim boards being affixed. LOTS extra work for us because of this. 2. In many places, the trim boards were not actually affixed/nailed. Our kids knocked the trim boards down all over the house the first time they played. Poor attention to detail here. 3. Our fireplace in the living room was not fitted properly when the flooring was laid, and 1/2" gaps were all around the marble hearth. These gaps were not filled, so dirt/debris quickly accumulated there. Again, just lack of attention to detail. 4. In one back room we retained carpeting, and leading to this room when the flooring was laid there was a noticable upward slope to the level of the floor, which had never been there before (we have lived in the house 7 years, and I had never noticed ANYTHING there). I investigated this myself, and could see carboard wedged under the flooring that was laid. In addition to these problems, after we had been back at the house for a week or so one Sunday night around 5:30 pm we have a knock at our door. Unannounced, it was the sub-contractor "Mario". He didn't really explain why he was there, since the work had been already completed, but he announced he had to "re-measure" everything. All I can deduce is there was a pricing dispute between "Mario" and Matt from Cincy Floor, since "Mario" measured every nook and cranny of flooring. He wasted 30 minutes of our evening, which I didn't appreciate. So after all of this, we inform Matt of our concerns. Again, very polite and professional, but also VERY dismissive of our concerns - saying things like, "Well, you live in an older house, and these things happen." or "Actually, I think Mario did the right thing with... (xyz)". His solution was to put a thin line of caulk around the fireplace and nail down the baseboards. My opinion is that he didn't want to spend any time or resources on a job that was already completed and paid for. Advice - DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU HAVE EVERYTHING AS YOU LIKE IT! After several calls, agrees that he will at least send some of his workers over to look at the sloped floor (which was VERY annoying). While I am at work, they talk to my wife saying they don't want to complete the work, saying if they do anything it will be a waste of time and not fix the floor. I have to be called at work and talk to the workers to INSIST they pull up the floor and try to fix the slope. Low and behold, once they actually pull the flooring, they see "Mario" had done poor work and left way too much cardboard under the hardwood, which caused the slope. The problem was fixed, and it took them 30 minutes, but they didn't want to do any of it and I had to force the issue. Overall, the work we received and subsequent problem resolution was horrible. That was my experience with Cincinnati Floor and Window. Though a sub completed the work, Matt tried all he could to run from the problem instead of just addressing it upfront. I wouldn't use them again, whether it be the subcontrator "Mario" or Matt Bliemeister himself and his company. Their commitment to their work and concern for the customer is nonexistant.
Description of Work: Cincinnati Floor & Window tore out carpeting and installed hardwood floor throughout the entire first floor of our home in conjuction with a kitchen remodel we had in process.

I got Matt Bliemeister's (owner of Cincinnati Floor & Window Coverings) name and number from a friend who said he was part of her business networking group. I called Matt to have him quote my flooring job so I could compare it to another quote I had received. Matt's quote was the same as the other provider relative to price but he provided much more detail with regard to materials and the steps required to complete the job. I gave the job to Matt based on the professionalism of his quotation and the recommendation I received from my friend. Matt scheduled a time to start the job and informed me that it could take two days to complete given its size. He showed up on time the first day and was able to complete the majority of the work but did have to come back the second day to finish up. My flooring came out better that I had expected relative to appearance and Matt took the extra time needed to install all toe molding so the finished product was to my high standards. I am extremely happy with Matt's work and would recommend Matt Bliemesiter and his company to anyone looking for a flooring professional with very competitive pricing!

I was pleased with the owner who came to our house for carpet selection and measurement. He was prompt and professional. I was pleased with the carpet and padding he suggested. However, installation was very poor. I was told that the installation would take one full day, perhaps part of a second day. We had everything moved and packed away as instructed. We paid extra for heavy furniture movement, which meant the installers moved the furniture. On the first day of installation, the crew arrived but only brought part of the carpeting, enough for 2 bedrooms. They worked only about 2 hours and then said they'd be back the next day to complete the installation. We were very disappointed because we had our entire upstairs taken apart (beds, etc.) and couldn't use it until installation was complete. The crew returned the next day and completed the other bedrooms, hall and stairs. It was approximately four hours. This was a job they could have done easily in one day, and saved us the aggravation of the second day of being without our bedrooms. I was also very disappointed in two other items related to installation. First, the installers, when moving furniture from room to room, took a pretty good chunk out of the corner of our hallway. They also scraped the wood furniture on the walls leaving paint on the furniture. Second, I am very disappointed in the seams between the rooms and especially in the middle of the hallway. The hallway seam is very noticeable. I called the owner with the above two concerns. He came out to inspect. He offered no real relief for the gouged walls and scraped furniture, as if this was just to be expected. He did agree that the seams could be better, and arranged for the crew to come back. When they came back, the owner was with them. They worked on the seams but I am still very displeased with the results. I've never had any carpeting where the seams are so visible. This is especially upsetting since it is in the hallway where it is very visible.
Description of Work: Installed carpeting in full upstairs of our home: 4 bedrooms, hall and stairs.

Every thing went well. After some time still no visible wear.
Description of Work: I had to get the stairway carpeted. Cincinnati Decorating was the only company that would address the situation. The price was very reasonable considering the amount of work involved to do the job properly.

A wonderful experience.
Description of Work: My husband and I just bought a house that was carpeted throughout. We knew we wanted hardwood and this company was referred to us by a friend. We ended up needing hardwood installed in half the house and the existing floors refinished (1000 square feet total). Matt's crew removed all our carpeting (and cleaned up beautifully), sanded the existing floors, laid the new portion, and applied 3 coats of urethane all within 2 weeks. Our floors are gorgeous and his crew was very professional, informative, and courteous. The final bill was right on the estimate. We couldn't be happier with the service and the final results.

When subcontractor arrived, he said Matt had not quoted the job correctly as our old house needed to have heavier underlayment than Matt had realized. We had to give approval to add the cost of the heavier underlayment to the quote. They started work on the tea rout of the old floor, however the sub didn't have the right tools to finish the job and had to come back the next day. Day 2 they couldn't do but a little bit as their battery ran down on their tools. The sub had to borrow my husband's power tools twice to complete some of the work. Day 3 they laid the vinyl. I marked where the washing machine leveling pad had to be re-placed so as to allow cabinet doors to be opened. It wasn't installed correctly; cabinet doors could not open. They didn't match the vinyl pattern on the pad, didn't put in trim molding and did a bad job of trimming out the pad. 6 weeks later after ordering more vinyl, realigning the pad, redoing the trim on pad and adding molding the job was finally finished.
Description of Work: We contacted several different floor sales and installation companies for a quote for vinyl flooring for our 2nd floor laundry room explaining our concerns about installing the vinyl in our 120 year old house. Matt Bliemeister provided a quote for installing the vinyl flooring, matching the vinyl on the leveling pad of the washing machine, trimming out the pad and installing trim molding around the perimeter of the floor and assured us that even though he used a sub contractor for the install it would be a good installation. A project that was supposed to take 1 day ended up taking 6 weeks to get completed. The company had excuses for each delay however, I don't believe that Matt would have tolerated the delays we experienced had it been his own home.

I HAD REQUESTED VINYL FLOOR COVERING FOR KITCHEN IN OLD HOUSE. AFTER CONSULTATION WE FOUND THAT I HAD HARDWOOD FLOORS UNDERNEATH, WHICH I WAS THINKING ABOUT DOING BUT THOUGHT IT WOULD BE TOO EXPENSIVE. AFTER I FOUND OUT I HAD HARDWOOD FLOORS, I DECIDED TO HAVE IT FINISHED. IT LOOKS GOOD, HOWEVER, NEITHER MATT NOR THE FINISHERS THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN UNDERNEATH WHEN THE WORK WAS DONE. DIRT AND FINISHING MATERIAL RAN INTO THE BASEMENT. LUCKILY, NO CARPET OR FURNITURE WAS THERE-ONLY CONCRETE FLOOR AND BOXES. IT DID LEAVE A MESS, AND I TOLD MATT THAT WE ALWAYS NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE SIDE EFFECTS MAY BE.
