Having participated in a research grant through HUD, SafeHouse helped 30 families whose children suffered chronic illness to what was eventually linked to “water damage” not properly mitigated. Let SafeHouse be the first team to respond to mitigate conditions linked to the health effects and deterioration of building materials. Specializing in wind, water and mold damage remediation and restoring your property call us today. Let us show you the difference in what other typical water cleanup companies do making it look like it never happened, as compared to what SafeHouse has been doing to ensure the health and safety of those you care for. Residential, commercial and industrial properties SafeHouse offers the most comprehensive skilled team of certified water mitigation and licensed IEP, indoor environmental testing and professional mold remediation and asbestos abatement services as well as restoration, reconstruction and remodeling solutions. In offices, hotel rooms, apartments, assisted living, medical facilities, public and government buildings to residential homes and investment properties first we’ll track the damage, diagnose the conditions causing the problem at your property and restore it to a pre-loss or “better improved condition.” Call or click to schedule a free consultation with our licensed wind, water damage and mold experts so SafeHouse can get started discussing your situation and project goals. Water damage response, mold prevention and remediation, roof repair and replacements, attic services, drywall finishing, painting, cabinets, flooring replacement let us help you whether this is an insured loss or not. We pride ourselves on the fact that we work for you, not your insurance company. We provide quality work to return you to a pre-loss SafeHouse condition while offering the opportunity for you to have us completely remodel your kitchen, bathrooms, basements or build you that staircase or bookshelves you’ve always wanted.

"Safehouse Solutions did extensive work on my entire home from which they had to remove drywall from the ceilings and walls. They did a poor job of covering my belongings (see pictures). Things had to be moved multiple times but should have been recovered. They did not cover floors properly either (see pictures). The workers worked only a few hours a day (even though I left the house vacant for them). Neither Nancy or Michael were aware of the lack of progress until I informed them. This was near the deadline for my project. I was never given a estimate from the painter. Nancy only told me how much he was charging but never gave me a written estimate. The texture to my ceilings was not the correct one I requested. When they removed shelves and pictures from walls they did not keep the screws with the items for rehanging. Two of the bedroom ceilings are horribly redone (picture). Nancy told me "that's the best they could do with the texture" and then told me if I wanted it fixed properly I would need a drop ceiling and that would be an additional cost to me. I had a contractor out to evaluate and he stated it could be fixed. Nancy than denied saying she ever said that to me. I had many questions and concerns which she was supposed to address with me but would not. Nancy often contradicts herself. Both Michael and Nancy talk over you when you have concerns. Her painters painted over dust on walls and doors. The paint in one of the rooms has oil streaks in it from not being stirred prior to painting. Also a month later the paint in one room is beginning to chip. The team was supposed to place all furniture back to the original spot/room but they failed to do that in my living and dining rooms. They left several sheets of drywall in my home for days and drywall mud/sand and paint in my garage for 3 weeks. She sent me a bill even though these items were still in my garage. How could my bill have been accurate when all the product was at my house. I never got any compensation for storing these items for her or even an apology for the inconvenience. Nancy does not accept accountability for the mistakes that her team has made. She just keeps sending you a reminder to pay the bill. I also got headaches, frustration and felt most of my concerns were ignored by Safehouse solutions."

Asbestos removal services FAQs

The cost for asbestos removal is between $1,200 and $3,200 for average homeowners. This cost could be as little as $450 or as high as $6,000, depending on the affected area's size, the location of the asbestos, and the type of asbestos you're dealing with.

For example, removing asbestos from attic insulation averages $11 to $25 per square foot. However, removing asbestos from an HVAC unit is more expensive, at around $35 to $55 per square foot.

No, you should not remove asbestos from your home yourself. It is not worth risking your health, or the health of your family.

There are strict laws regarding the demolition, encapsulation, and removal of asbestos. Not only could you face potential violations, but you could be putting yourself and others at risk. If you don't have the proper asbestos removal gear, you could inhale the asbestos fibers, which could lead to lung cancer or mesothelioma.

Since DIY asbestos removal isn’t the best option to save money, there are other steps that you can take to help cut costs when dealing with this project. After speaking with your asbestos removal expert, discuss if encapsulation is an option. If it is, you can save between 15% to 25% on overall project costs over demolition and disposal. In addition, when speaking with your professional, discuss if there are any tax credits available for your removal project. Finally, check with your homeowner’s insurance to see if any removal costs might be covered. However, be aware that this is usually only applicable if the asbestos is due to a covered incident, like a tree falling into your roof.

It can be scary to need asbestos removal from your home—you might be concerned about your family’s health, the overall condition of your house, and what repairs might need to be done. You can ask your asbestos consultant some questions to ensure your project is completed as safely as possible. Some questions to ask include:

  • Do you have the proper credentials for removing and disposing of asbestos?

  • How long will this project take to complete?

  • Have you worked on a project like this before?

  • Do you use new protective gear at each job site?

  • How do you prevent asbestos fibers from being released into the home?

  • How big is the crew you will send?

  • How do you clean up after a project?

The most common sign of asbestos is the age of your home. Asbestos was banned in drywall in 1977, though many products still contained asbestos until the 1980s. Indicators of possible asbestos in your home include:

  • Your home's age, if built before 1980

  • You have a home with vinyl flooring or millboard that was installed between 1952 and 1982

  • Your home has corrugated roofing

  • Your home has walls made from cement sheets

  • Your home has vermiculite insulation
