Brian has been a major help to our family after learning our house has asbestos throughout. He came out quickly after the initial call to advise on what needed testing and what was safe. He performed the testing, and quickly scheduled the remediation where needed. We had a sudden asbestos issue arise after 9 p.m. on a Thursday evening and had to vacate our home. I contacted Great Lakes Contracting that night and couldn't believe when Brian Donelon returned my call at 10:30 p.m. By Friday morning, he was at my home, took samples of the questionable materials, and had test results back to me within less than 48 hours. Then, when I had to have my house abated and remediated, I contracted with Brian and Great Lakes -- he and his team arrived when scheduled to do so and completed the job expertly. Having asbestos found in the house is unnerving, but because of the thoroughness and professionalism of Donelon and his Great Lakes team, I and my family felt safe re-entering the house, I can't say enough good things about Brian Donelon and Great Lakes Contracting and the work they did for me.

Fantastic Service and Quality Work.

The experience working with Brian and the crew, Cedric, Robert, and Jimmy, was easy and professional. Brian came out to see the space, talked through several questions with us, and we were also able to hire the company to remove some of the wall plaster for us while they were doing the job. After removing the ceiling some asbestos coated pipes were found and they were able to remove the asbestos from those, too, for a reasonable additional price for the additional work. Communication was clear and easy, responses rapid, and prices comparable for the service. Would hire again!

This is the 2nd asbestos abatement job I had Brian and his team do at my home--both times removing dangerous asbestos linoleum flooring and the mastic below it. They were able to complete the work right away and were amazingly efficient, clean, and thorough. Brian always stayed in contact with me throughout the whole process, explaining how the work would be done and what safety measures were being taken. He visited the job site twice to make sure things were running smoothly. It is rare to find folks in this industry who have high standards not just in the work they perform, but in how they treat their clients. Brian and his team are hands down the best in the area. Communication was great. Brian answered his phone every time I called. He and his team were out and working within a day of the first contact. Brian was informative and completed the work exactly how we agreed upon.

The crew that showed up was a three man team. They were professional, thorough, and clean! They did the job in two day! Reasonably priced due to how much plaster and asbestos needed to be removed. I would recommend them!

It went very well. Of course I was pleased that no asbestos was detected, but regardless of that, Brian was super friendly and just made the entire experience a pleasant one. I will definitely hire him again if/when I need something tested for asbestos.

I hate to write a bad review but I feel that we need to warn people about what happened to us with this company since they are not willing to settle this amicably and the work we paid for is not complete. We s/w Brian about a chipped tile that I suspected to be an asbestos tile. It was crumbled into lots of pieces so he said it would be considered fibrous, so if the tile is asbestos, it can be dangerous. I have asthma so I needed for this tile to be encapsulated until we figure out what to do with the rest of the floor. He quoted $350 which seemed high but we were willing to pay bc of health concerns. He did come out the following day swept out the area with a HEPA vacuum and put some kind of paint substance over it. He advised while he was there that it had been sinking but asked me to look if the work was ok. At the time I looked, the whole area in question had been covered with the white substance so I agreed that it looked ok. As he picked up the vacuum a piece of the tile came out of the nozzle. I told him about it and he just picked it up off my carpet and took it outside. I was a little concerned since it was possibly an asbestos tile but let it go. Of course he asked for payment before he left so we wrote a check. No receipt was given. The next day after it dried I looked and there were holes all over and you can even still see the edges of at least one of the broken pieces of tile and it is NOT covered by the white paint like substance. We sent pictures and then called Brian and he advised that he told us it had been sinking. we said that when he left it was all even and looked at least like it was encapsulated. He said it was fine and he has been doing this a long time. We advised we paid a lot to encapsulate 1 tile which took 20-30 minutes and it isn’t even complete and that part of the broken tile is still exposed. He advised he had driving time and looked at other items for us. When he first arrived he asked if we had anything else and we told him about some mold concerns in the attic. So he looked at that for about 15 minutes. We said his listing says provides free estimates(which we didn’t even receive an estimate for the attic) and the amount we paid was the cost for coming out and encapsulating the tile. We advised we would call him back. We texted him for a receipt... no response. We called the following day and seemed to be put right to voicemail so we left a message for a call back...No response. We called through Angi a couple days later and he answered and said he would call us the next evening Bc he was out of town and it’s now 3 days later and no call back. We, along with others that have looked at the work, agree that all of the tile was not encapsulated and that the work we paid for was not completed and just want to make known what happened to us. I expected more from someone who is rated 5 stars.

Brian called shortly after I requested a quote. He came out promptly to get samples. He was able to start work shortly after the lab results came back. They finished in one day and did a good job cleaning up when they were done.

Brian and his team were very nice and professional! He called me back within minutes of submitting my info on Angie’s List! I had asbestos flooring removed in a bedroom. You can’t even tell it was there now! I’ve used two other companies before and neither one sanded the floor down. I would highly recommend.

Brian was Fantastic. The work was completed professionally and on time. We are extremely happy with the results and will rest easier now that the Asbestos has been removed.
