Very high pressure sales tactics, with different price points for signing at time of estimate. Was turned off by sales tactics, but liked the product. Haven't had any issues with gutters.

I wanted aluminum shutters and also a outdoor lamp to go outside and he says he had a electrician to do that work. The guys who put in the new gutter shutters in, were great. It was kind of a razzle dazzle sell, he had sample products from other companies but he did not have the product itself.

I called them on the 14th of May to get them to come out. They gave me the name of Steve, who is supposed to be the production manager. He made the arrangements at that time for a John to come out to the house on Tuesday the 20th at 9:30am. I waited all day and no one showed up, nor called. I called them back today (May 21st) and Steve was gone from the place of business. Whether he was working or not, I don't know. This same problem happened when we first had them installed. You leave a voicemail, no response. Call back, and he's busy. The company has went to court because there were some problems with employees in June of 2004. The company has been bought by another gentleman. It just looks like to me that they are still in trouble. I have seen 2 homes on my street that had shields installed and they were put on the way I had seen them in the magazine, and at the Home and Garden Show. I wish we would have never completed and signed the papers as soon as we did. We've had trouble ever since. They tried to rectify the job by doing our barn, and I've got leaks all over the barn. At the rate its going it will probably rot the fascia if nothing is done. They are very curt on the phone, and they have sent workers out that smelled like alcohol, and they have entered a house trailer that they not authorized to go into.

The initial in-home estimate and sales meeting was very high-pressure, but pleasant and thorough. The installation date was delayed due to a snowstorm, but was rescheduled within a week. The installers arrived promptly on the rescheduled installation date and worked in the snow. The lead installer went over the completed work with me, and we found water dripping behind a gutter. The lead installer got the ladder back out and discovered a drip edge that did not go far enough under the shingles, and the other installer fixed it so that it fit properly. They left the old gutters for me, as I requested, and they put them neatly in a pile in the backyard. The installers cleaned up any dropped nails, metal, etc., after the job was completed. However, I was displeased to find several cigarette butts left in the yard after the installers left, and since I don't smoke, the logical conclusion is that the butts were from the installers.

The work was well done. The sales tactic is high pressure.

The company sent a representative out to do a estimate. He spent the entire presentation talking bad about other companies and not really go into great details of the product. Then he gave me a price of $4786. Well, I had a friend who had gotten it much cheaper and asked him if it was his bottom price and he Nexteled his manager three different times and a dropped the price all three times down to $2500. He tried to claim that he was new and some how misfigured his price. How do you misfigure a price by 2300 dollars? That was no accident this company was trying to get me to buy much higher than they can sell it for. When I set the appointment the company didn't even ask for my telephone number and then was 20 minutes late with no phone call of course or apology.

The salesman spent 4 hours at my home, pointing out issues and measuring. Spent a long time explaining the system and how it works. Gave me some pricing, did put pressure on me to sign today to get price. I didn't, told him I had to think about it. I decided to go ahead with the work and put a deposit down. We set a date for them to come install the product. However, the work was not done, the installers left a note saying there were some issues with the wood, the salesman would call. They even left the gutters in the back yard which said to me they intended to come back. A week later I still had not heard from them so I called to tell them I was upset the work had not been done and no one called me. The sales manager was not apologetic, told me they would not be installing the gutters because of the structure of my home??? Told me he was upset because he sent a crew out and they did not earn any money. Rude people, they did not return my calls but did send the deposit back.

I believe that Gutter Shutter has a good product but I was turned off by their sales methods. The final price offered after senior discounts, other discounts, call to supervisor, warehouse check, etc. was about half the original price quote. If you enjoy buying a used car from a slick dealer, you will enjoy working with Gutter Shutter. It's really a shame, because their final price was very competitive with other quotes we received. Their sales approach insults one's intelligence.

After getting estimates from several covered gutter companies we decided to use The Gutter Shutter Company when the ''Quality Control Manager'' called and gave us a significant price decrease from the original estimate. After giving them a down payment I discovered they have an unacceptable record with the BBB. This definitely concerned me so I called the QC Manager and found out he didn't know much about the situation. He was the sales manager with a QC title. The scheduling manager blew lots of smoke (''we have 36 unresolved complaints with the BBB in three years because we do a huge number of jobs'') but I elected to have them do the job rather than lose the investment. They did a good job and I am satisfied. The installers were competent and the gutters seem to work after a couple of rains. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones!

THE PRICE WAS FAIR. THE PEOPLE WHERE VERY NICE AND RESPONSIBLE. THEIR PROFESSIONALISM AND PUNCTUALITY WAS VERY GOOD. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THE QUALITY OF WORK WAS GREAT.

I AM AFRAID OF HEIGHTS SO WE THOUGHT THAT THE LEAF GUARDS WOULD BE THE BEST SYSTEM TO GO WITH. THE GUTTERS ARE GREAT AND I REALLY LIKE THEM. WHAT I REALLY LIKED WAS THAT A MONTH LATER SOMEONE CAME OUT TO CHECK AND SEE IF WE WERE PLEASED WITH THEM.

THEY ARE VERY EXPERIENCED AT THEIR JOB. THEY ARE ALWAYS PROMPT AND NEVER DO ANY UNNECESSARY WORK TO RAISE THE COST. THEY ARE VERY POLITE TO HAVE AROUND.

THEY DID THOROUGH WORK. THEY WERE WONDERFUL AT CLEANUP. I WAS HAPPY WITH THE QUALITY OF THE GUTTERS. THE WORKERS YOU COULD TELL WERE EXPERIENCED. THE ONLY THING IS THAT IT WAS REALLY EXPENSIVE.

THE SERVICE GUY CAME OUT AND GAVE US AN ESTIMATE. HE SAT DOWN WITH US AND SHOWED US SAMPLES AND GAVE US A REFERENCE. THEIR RESPONSIVENESS IS GOOD. THEY ARE EASY TO REACH AND THEY CALLED BACK PROMPTLY.

WELL, SO FAR, SO GOOD. I MEAN THEY DID AN OKAY JOB OF REPLACING MY GUTTERS, BUT THEY WERE A LITTLE TO SLOW. THEY CAME ON TIME AND THEY WERE VERY KIND. WELL, THEY DID THE JOB AND LEFT.

They have called numerous times over the last month asking if we need to have work done. I have told them I am not interested and informed them I am on the 'do not call' list every time. They called again yesterday and I said the same. They called again today. I would never consider hiring them based on this experience.

The Gutter Shutter Company is very hard to deal with. They have a money back guarantee if you are not 100% totally satisfied with your gutter, good luck. When It rains hard the water just flows right over top of them and onto the ground. They said I would never have to clean out my gutters again, now I have to clean the tops of my gutters. I have been treated very bad by the people there. I have been cursed at and yelled at by there production manager. I have done every thing by the book and still can't get a refund from them. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They scratched up my new aluminum gutter boards and wouldn't do anything about it. I was cursed at instead.

The salesman was very thorough in his presentation. All questions were answered. The work crew was on time, worked fast, and was efficient. They knew what they were doing. All were polite. I'm satisfied I bought a good product at a fair price.

THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL TO DEAL WITH, AND THE GUTTERS WORK GREAT.

YOU HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AGAINST COMPANIES OWNED OR CONTROLLED BY, LEE J. BROWN. TAKE EFFECTIVE ACTION AGAINST HIM INDIVIDUALLY. IF YOU ONLY SHUT DOWN HIS CURRENT CORPORATION, HE WILL JUST SET UP UNDER ANOTHER CORPORATE NAME. IM AN ATTORNEY WITH TWENTY-FIVE YEARS EXPERIENCE. I CAN DEAL WITH DEFENDANTS THAT COME ON STRONG, THEN LIE AND DENY. I FINALLY GOT OFF THE TELEPHONE AFTER ARGUING WITH HIM FOR A VERY INTENSE 40 MINUTES. AN AVERAGE CONSUMER WOULD NOT HAVE HAD A CHANCE DEALING WITH A GUY LIKE HIM. MULTIPLE COMPANIES, MULTIPLE ADDRESSES, INEFFECTIVE TELEPHONE NUMBERS, DROPPING OFF MATERIALS AT UNOCCUPIED HOUSES, LYING ABOUT CONSUMER PROTECTION LAWS AND AGGRESSIVE TACTICS AGAINST CONSUMERS TRYING TO EXERCISE THEIR RIGHTS AND, ON TOP OF IT ALL, HE ADMITTED THAT HE WAS RUNNING THREE OTHER GUTTER COMPANIES WITH DECEPTIVELY SIMILAR NAMES IN SOUTHWEST OHIO.

SALES PROCESS WAS FRIENDLY and PROFESSIONAL, THE INSTALLATION PROCESS WENT SMOOTHLY, AND WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH THE PROCESS and THE RESULTS.

EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTHLY AND THEY CLEANED UP WELL. I HAD NO PROBLEMS.

THIS IS A REALLY GOOD COMPANY, BUT THEY HAVE A WEIRD POLICY ON PRICES OFFERED. YOU NEED TO WORK WITH THEM ON THE PRICE.

THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO INSTALL THEM CORRECTLY. WATER KEPT RUNNING DOWN BEHIND THE GUTTERS. AFTER MANY PHONE CALLS AND 3 TRIES, I CALLED A ROOFER WHO GOT THE GUTTERS TO WORK. GUTTER SHUTTER APPARENTLY DOESN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT A FACIA BOARD IS.

FINAL QUALITY IS MORE A B+, HOWEVER, THEY WARRANTED A C ON INITIAL QUALITY BECAUSE THE GUTTER SHUTTER TECHS (GUTTER SHUTTER DOES NOT SUBCONTRACT) SEEMED UNFAMILIAR WITH HOW TO WORK WITH A TILE ROOF. THE OLD GUTTERS WERE FASTENED BY A METAL SHEET GOING UNDER THE ROOFING TILES AND THEY HAD TO CUT-OUT THE OLD GUTTERS. THEN, THEY PUT UP THE NEW GUTTERS BUT IT DID NOT LOOK VERY GOOD SINCE YOU COULD SEE THE EDGES OF THE OLD CUT METAL. ONCE A MORE SENIOR GUTTER SHUTTER TECH CAME OUT THEY COMPLETELY RECTIFIED THE PROBLEM AND IT LOOKS GREAT NOW. THE SALES TECHNIQUE (BEST DEAL IS TODAY) IS ANNOYING SO GET ALL YOUR OTHER BIDS FIRST AND THEN WORK THEM DOWN. WORTH THE PRICE, ZERO MAINTENANCE, GREAT PRODUCT, GREAT SERVICE.
