Tom and his crew were fantastic. Tom was always available when I called, and he would proactively call me to keep me updated throughout the process. They showed up on time and worked a full day. The job was done quickly, and done well. I don't often recommend anyone, but I have no reservations recommending Tom Morelli and Suburban Asphalt Concrete Co., Inc. My wife and I love our new driveway, our new walkway and our new sidewalk! It all turned out wonderfully. You won't go wrong with Tom. Plus, the cherry on top: his price was the cheapest among 5 estimates we got. Tom is honest, knowledgable, hardworking... and a nice guy too. :-)

Tom is an amazing and very informed professional. He answered all of our questions and was extremely patient with us. We decided not to have the work done because we wanted to save a bit more for the job. Tom showed us work his company completed near our neighborhood. It was beautiful work.

Although we decided to hold off on the repair of our stairs right now. I'd like to acknowledge how honest and professional the experience with this company was and that we appreciate them taking the time to come out and give us a quote.

I contracted with Tom Morelli of Suburban Asphalt in August 2015. He gave me estimates for two jobs. One in Plainview and the other in Melville. The board with which i work, agreed to use Suburban for the Melville job. It was next to impossible to get a date from Tom as to when the job could be started. It took over four months to get the job done. We are very pleased with the work but unhappy with the delay.

This was a very small job for them. One day after I called, Tom came to give me an appraisal and told me that he would not be able to do the work for a few weeks. As it was not an emergency I was okay with that and, most importantly, he came when he said he would. The crew worked quickly and very neatly. Tore out the bad sections on the first morning; laid the new cement the next morning. Results look good.

One of the most favorable experiences I have had with a contractor. Work was done professionally, workers were pleasant and looking to satisfy; they came on time on one of the days I requested that was convenient for me. AAA plus on responsiveness - whenever I left a message there was always a reply in less than 24 hours. Price was reasonable also. What else could you ask for in a contractor?

This is a family owned business and it shows as they provide great attention to detail and craftsmanship. Having a very long driveway with little pitch from back to front, it entailed a lot of work to to get the job done correctly. SAC got the job done just in time for a large party I was having without feeling it was rushed. Their reviews on AL speak for themselves and they willingness to come back and back it right even after the job is complete.

We got estimates from 3 different businesses and decided to go with Suburban not only because they were much cheaper, but we prefer to patronize local businesses in our area. We weren't in a rush & knew that the time of year was Tom's busiest season, so we were patient until he completed his much larger jobs. The guys came in on one day to rip up our existing asphalt and lay down the gravel layer (it took them all of an hour or 2 which was wonderful!) and then came back 2 days later to do the blacktop. These guys were not only very reasonable, but extremely nice, very fast, and very neat. Would highly recommend them to anyone! Thanks Tom!!!

Called around a few place and decided to go with Suburban asphalt. Went over the plans with Tom and he gave me a fair quote right away. Tom and his crew were very thorough when doing the job. I would highly recommend Suburban asphalt for any masonry work.

I was very pleased with the work Tom and his team from Suburban Asphalt did. I had quotes from 4 different providers, and not only did Tom provide the best quote, but he also did an excellent job. His team was on time, and Tom called prior to their arrival. My neighborhood has very strict permitting requirements, and Tom took care of all the permit work (making my life a lot easier). When one of our sprinkler system lines was damaged in the excavation of the old driveway, Tom immediately offered to pay for all the damages. I did not even have to ask. We had the line fixed a couple of days later, and Tom paid for the work as promised. Very pleased overall with the quality of the work and value for money. Will definitely use this company again for future outdoor work

The company was terrific from start to finish. They were reasonable, courteous and punctual. The owner was onsite throughout the job and took the time to answer all of our questions. The work was performed flawlessly and we are very happy with the results. We would definitely use them again. We highly recommend this company.

After interviewing several contractors to perform the work needed in my garage, Tom, the owner, had the best solution and price. He is totally professional, pleasant and was extremely responsive to my texts, calls and emails. We spoke in detail about the work to be performed and everything was done as promised. His ?old school? way of doing business with a quote and a hand shake was refreshing. Formal contracts can be so convoluted and confusing. His work is impeccable. His team is friendly, neat and polite. The only reason he had to come back was to move my workbench back into its place in the garage since it was too big and heavy for me to move myself. This is above and beyond his scope of cement work for my garage. The prior negative reviews could not be more erroneous in my opinion. Some people like nothing more than to complain. I will highly recommend Tom Morelli and his team at Suburban Asphalt to anyone who inquires and I will definitely use them for any future work that might be needed at my house. I have already recommended him to my neighbors if they need work done.

Tom and his team did a great job. Found Tom on Angie's list and seeing the great review he had, I called him to get an appointment for an estimate. He was professional, punctuate and very friendly. Really easy to work with. The whole job took about 4 days and during the process Tom called me and provided update from start to finish and explained what he has done and what will be needed in the future. Will definitely use Tom again when I have future repair needs.

RESPONDED PROMPTLY AND GAVE ME QUOTE AT VISIT. I DID NOT DO THE JOB IN THE FALL AS PLANNED AND WHEN I CALLED IN THE SPRING HE REMEMBERED THE JOB HELD THE PRICE AND SCHEDULED IT. Read favorable reviews online, made an appointment with estimator for driveway, no one ever showed up or called. Eliminated from consideration. Weird.

It was great. Tom was very professional. understanding and kept the work as agreed. They cleaned up after themselves and were at a great price. New granite stairs alone would have costed me 10K.

Tom and his team were extremely professional and friendly throughout the entire process. Tom made a point to be in communication with me several times a week leading up to the project start date. Once we scheduled a date his team was on time, professional and even went out of their way to be attentive to my wife and toddler son. The prior negative review could not be more opposite from my opinion of Tom Morelli and Suburban Asphalt. I have dealt with several contactors at my current residence and Tom is up there with the best of them. The work was done very professionally and we were consulted during the project on any recommendations or changes prior to them being done. The crew also deserves pat on the back for being able to remove a 50 year old walkway with thick reinforced concrete. Quite a job. Overall, I would highly recommend Tom and his team for any job involving, stone, concrete, pavers, asphalt, etc. The pricing was very fair for this project and I would use them again for any work in the future.

Tom, the owner, is responsive, professional, and friendly. Repair work was done as promised. Original driveway job was very neat and completed as scheduled. Tom is easy to work with and doesn't focus on minutia - like fancy contracts and deposits. My only issue with them is obviously that they had to come back, but they did! Too many contractors don't.

This was my experience with Suburban. I didn?t want to waste a lot of time getting endless estimates, so I settled on 2 very good reviewed companies. One was very expensive and the other was Suburban, so I decided to go with them. Despite a few very very bad reviews, with some F grades. I over looked it because I?m also in business, and sometimes things are beyond ones control, on top of a bit of bad luck. Also, we shared the same last name, no relation though, so I took it as a good sign things will go smooth. First mistake. I thought I?d get a jump on things by finding a company in late fall / early winter so I?m ready for construction in early Spring. So in mid November I made an appointment with Tom, he never showed up. Determined to get this job done, I over looked it. People are busy, he probably doesn?t have a lot of staff, etc, etc. But had many excellent reviews. I messaged him saying essentially he missed the appointment and I?d like to reschedule. I never heard back. Undeterred, I waited for March. It took a couple of phone calls to even get him to call me back. We made an appointment, he showed up on time, was polite and professional, and I got a very fair price, just on the back of a business card, that's a little unprofessional, but this is a concrete and asphalt company, I over looked it. Writing estimates is time consuming and I'm sure he want to get to the next appointment. I got the price and was satisfied. I very much needed my driveway not only redone, but widened, and time was of the essence. He told me mid April will begin work, this was March 17th. The next couple of weeks we went back and forth via the messaging on Angie?s list, as I was adding stone accents and needed feedback. He replied the same day or next, which is fine. As the 2nd week of April approached, the 13th, I wrote him to see if I'm on the schedule for the next couple of days. He replied: ?The weather really has not been great, so I am thinking the second week of May.? Yes, we had a cold April, maybe even some rain. Acts of God. But things looked promising, and a new driveway was right around the corner for me because I planned ahead. All my efforts wasted a HUGE amount of time. Mid May was approaching, no phone calls, no messaging from him to set up the construction date. I never chase contractors, and went above and beyond with what I?m comfortable, while keeping my fingers crossed all the way. Even if he messaged or called me now, being the beginning of June, I would not use him for leaving me high and dry. So, if you do, maybe your planets and his will be in alignment, but it wasn?t with me. And I wasn?t the only one, based on some of the reviews. Or maybe you?ll get lucky and give him an A grade. I?m sure he does good work when you can get him. I have nothing bad to say about him personally. Now people are booked, and I have to wait for Fall to get this done as people are booked. This is indefensible, no matter what he will write with a reply. If he didn't want the job, or didn't like me, he should have given me the courtesy to let me know, and demand at least an apology.

Tom is extremely busy. From the first time I contacted him till start time was roughly about a month. However it was well worth the wait. Tom did a complete tear down and rebuild. He went well beyond what we initially spoke about. He added blue stone steps with cultured stone in between and around the steps. He also added stone on top of the stoop. The work is remarkable and I would hire him again. The price was also very fair compared to many estimates I received.
