"Dave provided my wife and me a quote for renovations, and once we agreed, he began the demolition work. The crew knocked down the walls and installed new sheetrock in both the kitchen and bathrooms. We also decided to cut down the sewer pipes and install new PVC pipes. During this process, the first incident occurred when his crew used the bathroom and flushed the toilet, which caused all the waste to flow into the basement due to the unconnected pipes. Dave assured us he would handle the situation, only for us to discover that he charged a purchase of Resolve to our credit card to address the issue. We gradually bought all the necessary materials using a credit card supplied by my wife, while I also went online to shop at stores like Home Depot and Mayfair. After a little over a month, he finished the upstairs bathroom. In the kitchen, he managed to install the cabinets in time for the countertops to be placed. However, while the kitchen sink was installed, the plumbing was not connected to the water supply. Likewise, the kitchen appliances were not hooked up: the dishwasher remained unconnected, the refrigerator was not installed, and the smart thermostat was never set up. Only the stove and the hood range were connected. After he installed the new PVC pipes, I ran the water for a few minutes to test the plumbing. Unfortunately, we experienced flooding in our basement. Water spilled out from our old sewer line, which had not been capped, as well as from the sewer clean-out and all the way upstairs where the kitchen plumbing was not connected. This flooding caused our wood floors in the kitchen to warp and damaged the basement, potentially leading to mold issues. Additionally, we had to pay for electrical and roofing professionals on top of the plumbing costs to rectify this unfortunate situation."

Each time I called, they told me I would hear from somebody in two to three days. I didn't receive a reply until I left a negative review. By the time I heard from someone named Ed, I already had another company out to inspect the damage in my home. I told Ed I'd get back to him if it didn't work out with that company. That company didn't get back to me for me to pay them and provide the estimates. I decided to try submitting my information for a project on Yelp. I received interest from one company. That company didn't call when they said they would, so it seemed like it was going to fall through with them. I called back Ed to set up a day and time to come out to visit. I ended up hearing from the company that I found after submitting my project to Yelp, and it seemed like they were going to come through with the estimates I needed. I called Ed back to cancel our appointment because I didn't want him wasting his time coming if this other company was going to provide the estimates. This other company wasn't calling when they said they would, getting back to me days later when I wasn't sure if I was ever going to hear from them again. I decided to call Ed to reschedule another appointment. This time he told me his boss didn't want to be involved with providing estimates if they're going to be used in a lawsuit. He referred me to another company, which didn't respond. After getting the runaround from two other companies, Ed and AW Martin got rid of me by referring me to a company that also didn't want to get involved. If a company has a problem with their estimates being used in a lawsuit, that sends up a red flag for me. It's frustrating, but I'm quickly learning how to deal with contractors. Don't tell them what you intend to use their estimates for. Fortunately, I've found a fifth company that I believe is going to provide the estimates I need. I was honest with them and told them why I needed the estimates, and they're even willing to appear in court to back up those estimates for a fee. In that case, I'm sure I can trust them, and their estimates will help me greatly with my lawsuit."
