We are the #1 Geothermal Heating and Cooling Experts in South Jersey, Central Jersey, and Southeastern Pennsylvania. The U.S. EPA calls geothermal "the most energy efficient, environmentally clean and cost-effective space conditioning system available". Upgrade to geothermal, and never buy heating oil or natural gas again. Don't just take our word for it when it comes to D&L's geothermal expertise. Here's what one of our recent customers had to say: “D&L has been an absolute life saver. We had the hardest time finding a tech who knew anything about geothermal systems, until we called D&L... A real standup, old school, quality service company. D&L got a new long-term customer in me, and I strongly recommend them.”

"Photo of Hutchinson - Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Heating Hutchinson - Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Heating Hutchinson installed my high efficiency furnace, a/c unit and hot water heater about 10 years ago. i have had an annual service contract with them since then. They come out every 6 months for routine checks so no other company has touched the equipment since it was installed. at the last service check a few weeks ago the technician told me that the seal around the flue pipe wasn't proper and it was leaking. he showed me a picture of a red sealant around the joint that was pvc pipe. he quoted me a price of $500 to repair it that i agreed to. it took him about 20 minutes to replace a 6 inch piece of pvc pipe. over the next week the amount that i paid wasn't sitting right with me for what had to be done especially since Hutchinson had done the install and therefore they didn't do it right the first time. I called them last week and explained all of the above and asked for a call back that never happened. from dealing with them thru the years i think their techs are incentivized to sell products or expensive repairs. they tried many times to install an ultraviolet air cleaner even though i already have a carrier air cleaner. They are Hutchinson in name only. I looked them up and they are owned by a private equity company that seems to specialize in buying family owned plumbing and hvac businesses. So buyer beware before you let them in your house. as for the hot water install the young plumber used a piece of scrap pipe for the hot water return. fortunately i went to the basement a few hours later and it was leaking because it wasn't soldered correctly. I turned off the water supply and the on call experienced plumber had to come out that evening and redo it and took back the scrap pipe to show his supervisor. other issues with Hutchinson include the time one of their technicians foot went through the attic floor and put a hole in the 2nd floor ceiling. Accidents happen and i was glad he wasn't injured. i contacted Hutchinson and they agreed to cover the cost of the repair. I got a quote and sent it to them and they approved it and i paid the contractor to do it. The problem was getting them to pay me back. They are strictly COD when they come out, but it took many many calls to get them to pay me. Either they were in a meeting or gone for the day and even thought i left messages it took at least 6 or more tries to get them to pay me when they realized i wasn't going away. then there was the issue with the pressure booster we have for our sprinkler system. it started to leak and was still under warranty. Hutchinson took it out and said they would take care of sending it back to the company for a replacement. I called a few times over the next several months and couldn't get an answer as to the status of the replacement. as a result i couldn't open my sprinkler system for the season and the plants and grass were not looking good. Finally i called the Slimer company myself to check on the status and Hutchinson had never sent it back to them. After that both Slimer and myself had to make multiple calls to Hutchinson to find out where it was. In the meantime the Slimer company was kind enough to send out a replacement."

We know you have a lot of options when it comes to HVAC services here in South Jersey, but we think our services are just a little bit better. Were a small firm, but were well organized and our staff ranks among the most talented and experience in the area. That gives us the ideal combination of flexibility and expertise to handle heating, cooling and indoor air quality products of all varieties. If you need to install, repair, maintain or replace, give our team a call today. You wont regret it!
"I opted to have the installation of a Ductless Mini-split heat/air system this spring. Out of the three bids, this company came in the lowest by quite a bit. The sales rep was very nice and explained everything that was going to be done. I can't wait for the finished product!"

George H. Hutchinson, Sr., and sons William A. Hutchinson, Sr. and George H. Hutchinson, Jr. founded the Hutchinson family business in 1948. George and his sons started Hutchinson Engineering with their accumulated wealth – $35 in a cigar box – in rural Haddonfield, New Jersey. Serving all of South Jersey, Philadelphia, & Hunterdon, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset, & portions of Warren & Westchester Counties.
"Company is way to expensive and the work was not mediocre. They use GoodLeap for financing, and they rip you off with that contract as well. Stay away!"

"Raynor Services NJ. I'm addressing my aha moment experience . I wouldn't recommend because of the pricing and what I was I told by Raynor's electricians. Remember I'm not an electrician so I'm looking for someone to guide me, the professionals. During my new life lesson learned January 1st even for a holiday this is high but Raynor sticking by their quotes and will even provide your financing. WOW, you would have to with those charges! Thinking let me go local would be the best, totally wrong. Raynor ask for your credit card up front, thinking back my first mistake. Hhhmmmm.. I have only had a company ask for a credit card upfront when they are ordering a part for me from what I recall. They charged you for walking thru the door, no problem. Then have your sign to review your issue, yes you don't have to I'm told but again I'm not an electrician, did the electrician not know what was going on? I have a 11 year old electrical panel, yup pretty new one would I thought. Well I had no electricity, the guy is asking me it must be something more that is going on I thought , not just the main breaker? I called originally stating the main breaker is not working. The electrician should of stated to me let's get your electric back on with the price prior to seeing if anything else maybe wrong but again you are at my house to see what is wrong? Apparently this was my fault to have someone review my electrical panel which took 10 minutes to do and I was billed $467.09 which included the walk in the door fee. January 1st , my first "got you" clause of the year. I called customer service and spoke to two women at the company and they spoke to me nicely, wanted to give me a free warranty. I'm thinking in my head , for what? Kerri who also works for the company was so nasty to me on the phone, she was the final person I spoke too. I repeated myself several times and received the same story from the company on how you go to the doctors and what my doctor charges me. Kerri even told me her electrician will be right out to pick up their cable and they did. I really thought going off of Angie list I wouldn't feel so taken. Finally I had to interrupt her several times to say what is my bill and she didn't even know and said you will get an email. One of the workers from Raynor even told me the prices are high and yes a lot of people complained about the same issue your are complaining about, OMG!!! The electricians are all young men. I was told by one of the company employees I am handling it well and I'm a very nice person, imagine that. After talking to 3 different people on the phone from Raynor still charged $467.09 and no breaker. The price they wanted to charge me after the work completed is $1,140.26, for service and a breaker, less then 1/2 hour job. They also wanted to sell me a new panel/ electrical system because mine was reading to go and I didn't have quality electrical panel installed. I had water coming through my electrical line, I was like really? It would cost me over $2,000.00 for a new panel and all new breakers, I was informed of this prior to my electric coming back on. I had so many red flags and even called my contractor and he couldn't believe it. As I was told by the company the electrician didn't have to check my service but then again how do you find out the problem? The electrician spent 10minutes to review the problem and 10minute to put my electric on, let say 30 minutes, charged $467.09 and still more money for the main breaker and service. This is the email I sent to the company after talking to 3 people pretty calmly about their charges. EMAIL:.To who it may concern , Please confirm service fee charge, I received a 2nd email but not clear, it states I still owe. It is unfortunate and your employee did come back to retrieve your cable from me today. For a single circuit breaker along with service would cost someone over a thousand dollars is not responsible even on a holiday. To charge someone over $467.09 to step through my door and tell me what is wrong even on a holiday is priced high. We already knew it was the main breaker I addressed this when I placed the initial call and spoke with Chris when he came out. Maybe your guy should of stated to me let's try the breaker first? This was not addressed to me at that time. It was addressed to do a diagnostic test , as a customer I felt that is what was needed. I was also told I needed an entire new system and the outside tubing I think you call it would need to be replaced. My unit is not even 11 years old, insane. Also begins over spoken too by Kerri was concerning. Stephanie and Cheri did speak to me kindly but the high price never changed. I have done business with many companies and lived in neighborhood for over 20 years and I have not come across an experience like this. I would hope the charges will not even come to $467.09. If so very unfortunate and lesson learned. I have never had a company I couldn't work things out with and I have only had one other company complaint in the last 20 years, not bad on my part, we were able to negotiate. I was offered a free warranty package from your company but this was to keep my business but saw no problems with what I was charged? Disheartening. Yes after all this I had a new electrician come to my house and guess what all I need was a Circuit breaker I did not need a new panel/electrician system. Imagine that. No reply to my email and spoke to 3 people. Kerri stated since I was not happy with the service he electrician will come back and disconnect the work they had done and they did. Knowing how long your existing HVAC units can last is essential to determine if you need a repair or replacement. Typically, most modern air conditioning units can last between 15 to 20 years, and most furnaces can work properly for 15 to 30 years. If your HVAC system is on the older side and you decide to replace one unit, it might make sense to replace both simultaneously to save on costs and future hassle.
While different HVAC contractors might offer higher or lower prices than competitors, the best time to replace your HVAC system is when customer demand is low. The beginning of summer and the beginning of winter bring the most demand for HVAC systems, so if you can, consider replacing your HVAC units in the early spring or fall. Many HVAC companies offer special off-season coupons that help lower the overall cost.
The average cost to hire an HVAC contractor is between $50 and $150 per hour if charging hourly. However, some HVAC contractors will charge a flat fee by the type of service they are performing—for example, an inspection can cost between $150 to $500. Keep in mind that emergency repairs—which are made after business hours or around major holidays—generally cost more than scheduled repairs.
Yes, most states require HVAC technicians to be certified, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed HVAC technician could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
