"I had a plumbing leak in my crawlspace, so I called A1 Sewer & Drain Plumbing, and was able to have someone come out the same day. Jeronmy did the repair and was awesome. He was professional but also personable. He kept me informed from the moment he was on his way, and throughout the process of what needed to be done for the repair. He was very efficient and got the work done in less than an hour. If I ever needed them to come out again, I would be happy to have him return. I can honestly say that I've had a good experience with everyone, from A1 Sewer & Plumbing, that has come out to do work on my home."

"So, my a/c unit went out the end of May/early June and American Home Shield had them come out. When the technician came, the a/c unit started working. He only checked the a/c unit outside, and used something to measure the air flow and said it’s great. He left and said if it goes back out to a call back. Well! It went out. I called them explained what happened and how hot it was. They were adamant about not coming out for 4-5 days until I said I was going to file a grievance and complete a review on all platforms. They were then kind to send the same technician who went in and looked at the zone boards, damper, etc. and realized parts needed to be replaced (this should have been done the first time). He ordered the parts on Friday. I called my home warranty to expedite the authorization. I called the company and they sent someone out Monday. The technician was super nice, replaced the parts, and left. It worked for a little bit and went back out, but came back up. I called the company today. Spoke to Mikayla, and explained what was going on. Instead of offering an apology or bring empathetic she offered an appointment Tuesday. I explained I’ve been very accommodating and at this point this is ridiculous. I asked to speak to a manager. She said he’s not in but she can transfer me and leave a voicemail. I asked was he coming in or is out, and she said she didn’t know. I left a message. Called back to lock in the Tuesday appointment and spoke to Riley who was friendly. She tried reaching a technician but was not successful so here I am waiting for the third time. With my experience I would not recommend this company. If your home warranty tries to have you use them ask for someone else! Please note I paid my home warranty to chose them."

Gas leak repairs FAQs

Yes, most states require a plumber to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Check our state licensing tool to review the local plumber guidelines.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Fixing a gas leak costs about $45 to $150 per hour for a plumber or gas line specialist. The job’s overall cost will vary depending on the location of the leak. A leaky junction or connection behind the stove or dryer will likely cost about $120 to $170. But for a leak that requires a gas fitter or plumber to excavate a pipe in the yard, the cost could rise to $1,500 to $5,000. Keep in mind that gas leaks are very serious issues, so don’t hesitate to contact a plumber or gas line specialist immediately.

Fixing a gas leak can take anywhere from one to 24 hours, depending on the location and magnitude of the problem. A gas line specialist or gas plumber should be able to give you an estimated time to completion once they evaluate the situation. If your city’s utility company works to fix a gas leak, it will likely have information available about the anticipated time for gas service to be restored.

The cost of repairing a gas leak depends on the type of leak, its severity, and how difficult it is for the repair technician to reach it. Some of the most common gas line repair costs, on average, include:

  • Cap a gas line: $75–$150

  • Gas system inspection: $150

  • Pressure test: $75–$500

  • Damaged or corroded pipe: $6–$7 per linear foot

  • Repair gas leak: $120–$5,000

A local natural gas plumber, gas fitter, or gas line specialist should fix gas leaks. Installing gas lines and connections improperly can lead to dangerous gas leaks and explosions. Only a certified plumber or gas line specialist should run gas lines. This is not a job to try out DIY skills, so hire a professional gas plumber or gas line specialist immediately to find the cause of the leak and fix it quickly.
