"you failed to post my honest review last time - think trip advisor got in a lot of trouble for doing that - siding with the companies - here is your final attempt - i am going legal with this so if you don't post this completely true review....I'll include you in it....I have money to burn for the right thing - this company needs to be stopped........ Worst experience with the worst people EVER. Charged $50,000 dollars here is what I got and I am not exaggerating. Quoted one camera system, installed a camera system half that price with no knowledge or permission. Had electricity shorted out in Bathroom for 3 days, they never fixed the short, only took power from another wall to power outlet - FIRE HAZARD! I have a direct receiver in my theater room that isn't connected to anything. Steve had it installed correctly at one point but joe changed things and it isn't even an option to watch on the control 4 system - yet joe thinks this is correct installation. Holes, BIG holes left in bathroom 12x12 holes I had to pay to have patched and painted - no apology, this is due to incompetance, they ordered the incorrect tv mount but i have to pay to fix it. Steve broke a custom made shudder of $1800 just ripped it off right in front of us. Trash was left for weeks - I had a 110" screen box empty laying in my gameroom for weeks, I had my garage full of all the empty boxes for upwards of a month. Came and went at will - never I'm going to be late or hey I'm going to stay in your house till 10pm...Steve just did whatever whenever. Alarm system had 25 windows wired to one contact...so it would say window open but you would need to look at 25 of them to find it. numerous error messages. Unable to view camera recordings - Joe said he would mail a wireless remote as he had plenty just laying around - Joe will lie to your face to get a dollar. he told us 3 times it was in the mail - how can it be in the mail for 5 weeks. He actually said Steve shouldn't be in houses, he has no customer service skills. well he was in my house.......a month past the supposed competition date and i haven't had one week where things work. My electronic keypad is inoperable - I cannot open or close the door, My door chime is inoperable - I cannot hear when someone is at my door....but joe and stoves response is they went "Above and beyond"....I'm sorry - I want what I paid for - nothing more - and unfortunately for them nothing less - This is a small company of 2-3 men......They must be stopped - they were referred to me and I went with that - do your homework - go with a bigger company that knows control4 and selects product that works with it. I had one thermostat on control 4 and the other 2 not - He actually thought someone would want to control only one thermostat but not the others. They have now insulted my wife almost saying it is out fault they caused damage and things don't work....It's a joke of a company - lies, mis quotes, incompetence - they are way over their head.....I think literally everything has failed except the projector. You've been warned......people who have seen this work will leave reviews as well so you don't think its just one person - I think 40-50 people have seen this work so I'll have them tell you what they saw. If you want a FIRE HAZARD, bait and switch lies to your face about how he is handling this, Lip service....this is your company......if you want things to work with your 50k - go elsewhere."

Window treatment services FAQs

Custom window treatments provide many benefits over prefabricated treatments. Consider the following advantages of installing one-of-a-kind window treatments:

  • They block more light when they’re closed.

  • They provide a significant increase in home energy efficiency.

  • They can better protect your furniture and floors from UV damage.

  • They can help make your living space temperature more comfortable and even.

  • They improve your curb appeal.

  • They tend to last longer than prefabricated treatments.

  • They add more to your home’s value.

In most cases, custom window treatments are well worth the investment. Custom window treatments not only elevate your curb appeal and make your home more visually pleasing inside, but they also often do a better job of boosting your home’s energy efficiency than non-custom treatments, and they usually last longer. Plus, specialty window treatments can increase your home value if maintained well, so your investment is more worthwhile in the long run in most cases, too.

Custom window treatments cost around $900 per window, and prices usually fall between $150 and $4,800. Your total will depend on many factors, including the type of window treatment, the amount and size of the windows, your home’s location, and the labor cost. Blinds and shutters tend to be the most affordable custom window treatments at $600 to $2,700, and the most expensive options are valances, drapes, curtains, and estate shutters, costing up to $3,000.

In most cases, it’s impossible to install your own custom window treatments because the companies that manufacture them will only allow professionals to pick them up and install them. You can buy semi-custom window treatments to cut to fit your windows, but they don’t offer the same benefits as true custom treatments. Additionally, even if you find a custom window treatment manufacturer that will sell directly to you, it’s better to have a window professional install them for a better appearance and to maintain your home warranty coverage.

In most cases, custom blinds increase your home value for many reasons. First, custom window coverings make your living area and the exterior of your home more appealing, which tends to help buyers develop a positive opinion about your property. Savvy buyers will also know that custom treatments improve energy efficiency and privacy and will be willing to pay more for those perks. The average return on investment for custom window treatments is around 75%.
