"My experience with Handyman Connection was terrible. I will never utilize them again and caution others that are considering them. I had a exterior painting project that was quoted in May 2024 and the project was not completed until late September due to the poor work and damages that were caused to my gutter system that I found after they were “finished”. No workers came and informed me of the damages. So when the worker’s came to me to come and take a look at their work I found half my house was painted in a different color than the other half! Eight sections of my gutter system were damaged and needed to be replaced and my brown garage door was now a shade of purple! To top things 25% of the surfaces that were to be painted and included in the original quote was never painted! I was also not informed of this by the workers and found this out when I questioned them. I spoke to Management about my concerns and there was no rush to remedy the situation and no consideration to reducing the quoted price at all. They also left paint on a number of my windows and door frames and when you have bronze frames and beige paint splattered on them it is very obvious to the eye but no effort to remove those spill/drips. I could go on with the issues that I had but I will end by using a very popular saying “Caveat Emptor” or Let the Buyer Beware! They have some good reviews but I certainly do not have anything good to say about the service and the outcome I had with them. I will say the workers themselves were very nice but that’s as much as I can say nice about my experience."

Shelton Painting Inc. is a Residential Painting Company serving the Twin Cities since 1990. We offer all services for interior painting and exterior painting. We offer the highest quality paint job using the finest available paint and materials. 5 Employees. No subs. Cost is determined by the job. No travel charges. No service fees. Additional phone - (612) 804-9376. Additional service area - Sherburne & Sibley counties. may contact through email. Award winning.
"Shelton Painting, Inc. subcontracted our exterior house painting job to Alexis Painting, LLC. Items of note for Shelton/Alexis: - Alexis Painting parked in our driveway, blocking us from getting into our garage, and did not move when we came home. - Alexis asked once for water, which we were happy to provide. A few hours later they knocked on our door and asked for more water when two other painters showed up. - Even though the Shelton Painting quote stated, “no exterior painting should be done immediately after a rain, during foggy weather, or when rain is predicted” Alexis painted our house up to the point it started to rain (rain was in the forecast for the whole day). The paint was not dry when the rain started. - The masking Alexis used at the base of our house blew up during the rain shower and stuck to the wet paint (there was nothing weighing down the plastic masking). We, as homeowners, had to go out and peel the masking off of the house and weigh it down. The masking left a texture in the paint. Some paint was also stuck to the masking. When Shelton was called about this issue, Todd was angry/defensive and stated “it all can be fixed.” They did “fix” it, but there is still a slight texture in the paint. - The painters left empty pop cans, bottle caps, and we found a razor knife blade in the lawn when they left for the day. Our child could easily have run though the grass and gotten cut. - Came home one day (after work) to find two painters sleeping under our tree. When we woke them up and asked what was happening they stated they were waiting on material. As they did not seem to have a vehicle at our home, I assume they were dropped off and left to work. I don’t want to think about where they went to the bathroom during the day. They lied back down after talking to us and appeared to go back to sleep. - Alexis painted our front door shut (to the weather stripping). The painters had to use a razor knife to separate the door from the weather stripping. A paint ridge was left on the door where the weatherstripping meets the door. Our overall impression is Shelton Painting does not manage their subcontractors. Shelton’s subcontractor (Alexis Painting) lacks professionalism. However, the overall painting Alexis performed seemed fine. Shelton Painting does not seem to know what is going on with their subs, and at least in our case, they were more about telling you why you are wrong then trying to make it right. For us, there was too much drama in working with Shelton Painting and their sub, Alexis Painting."

Angi's Super Service award in 2016 and 2017. Stucco Moisture Intrusion Specialist. In addition, we are a full service exterior design and renovation contractor servicing the entire Twin Cities & surrounding areas. We specialize in James Hardie Siding, all major window and door brands. Our jobs range from retrofit repair to total exterior replacement & moisture remediation projects. Designer services and computer renderings available.
"Awful. This company has good reviews but was absolutely awful for me. Called because of a water leak which is supposed to be one of their specialties. They had me hire a separate inspector/specialist to evaluate the home exterior. They then tore a hole in our kitchen ceiling looking for the water leak. When they had difficulty identifying the origin of the leak they simply abandoned the project with a hole in the middle of our kitchen ceiling. Finding water leaks is difficult and I don't blame for having difficulty locating the leak but abandoning the project with a gaping hole in our kitchen is really extraordinarily bad service."

Quality work, minimal disruption. We realize that having your space overtaken by a paint crew isn’t exactly the ideal situation. That's why we've created a smart painting process that eliminates the hassle and mess you usually get with a painting project. Our personalized, detailed proposals clearly outline our services rendered and the total cost of the job. Our painters then work from the proposals, ensuring every project is completed on time and on budget. We deliver both speed and quality so you don’t have to shift your whole life around. And you won’t even smell paint fumes after we’re gone—we also use zero VOC paint, which is better for you and the environment.
"We unfortunately didn’t have a good experience with Wow. We selected a matte sheen for our interior and they used velvet, didn’t repair nail pops, & used a long nap roller, leaving an orange peel texture on our previously smooth walls. We had some areas needing sanding which were not properly done. To be fair, when we raised concerns, they returned promptly & did a nice job fixing the exterior. They applied 1 coat of matte to the interior, again using long rather than short nap roller we requested. 1 coat didn’t fully cover the shine and orange peel remained. My husband preferred to attempt a fix ourselves rather than having them return again, so we told them it was better. We told them we applied a 2nd matte coat with a short nap roller to further reduce shine and smooth the walls. They did not acknowledge this or offer any rectification. We paid $2400 for our interior, applied 2nd coat ourselves, and are stuck either living with orange peel or paying another company to fix it."

At Northland Fence, we believe a fence should enhance your property’s security and curb appeal—not become an expensive, high-maintenance regret. That’s why we offer top-tier ornamental steel, vinyl, and black chain link fencing designed to last for decades. Some companies still push warping, rotting wood fences or flimsy, dent-prone aluminum fencing, but we know better. Wood may start out looking great, but give it a few brutal Minnesota winters, and you’ll be dealing with splinters, sagging boards, and endless repairs. As for cheap aluminum? One storm, a stray baseball, or even a strong gust of wind can leave it bent and battered. We also retired galvanized chain link fencing years ago—just like many HOAs did. Let’s be honest: while it was once the standard, it’s now an eyesore. If you’re matching an existing galvanized fence, that’s understandable. But when the neighbors upgrade, do you really want to be the last house on the block with a dull, rusting relic? Instead, our sleek black chain link fences provide a modern, HOA-friendly alternative that blends seamlessly into any landscape. At Northland Fence, we stand by quality, durability, and craftsmanship. No subcontractors. No cheap materials. No gimmicks. Just expert fence installation backed by industry-leading warranties and financing options to fit any budget. When it’s time to invest in a fence, don’t settle for something that will become a neighborhood eyesore. Choose Northland Fence—where quality meets longevity, and style never takes a backseat to function.
"I will be recommending Northland Fence to everyone! From the first phone call I made with Josalyn, Rachel and Brittany to the building team Larissa, Michael, Cooper, Jaxson and Josh they were BEYOND professional, nice, prompt, respectful and hardworking. Our fence is perfect and everything we wanted. Whoever is in charge is VERY lucky to have people and a team like this. Outstanding! It’s hard to find good workers and people now a days and this team is special. Thank you Northland Fence team for really completing our forever home and just being all around great. 10/10 experience!"

Yes, most states require a fencing installer to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed fence installer could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Fence installers typically charge by the hour when working on a project. Typically, you can expect to pay around $50 per hour for fence installation. Your project might take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours, depending on the length of your fence, overall project complexity, and fence type.
You should paint your home exterior every five to 10 years, on average. Climate and surroundings can affect how well paint holds up. Wood siding will likely need a fresh coat of paint every three to seven years. Paint on brick tends to last about eight to 17 years, on average.
To calculate the square footage of a home exterior, painters multiply the length of the wall by the height of the wall to be painted. Then they add the total square footage for all of the walls to be painted. To calculate the price, they multiply the total square footage by their cost per square foot to prep and paint. Additional costs may factor in such as repairs, additional trim, and walls higher than the first story.
The cost to paint the exterior of a house ranges from $1,900 to $4,500 or about $1.50 to $4 per square foot, depending on the size, height, and complexity of the home layout. Other cost factors include your location, the type of siding (e.g., wood, aluminum, brick, stucco, etc.), and the kind of paint (e.g. oil-based, latex, acrylic, etc.). Painting the trim a different color or painting intricately designed trim can also increase the cost.
