2 employees sub contractors used on large projects quik books paperless billing
"Despicable business practices. Scott Ferrell is dishonest, combative and impossible to work with. He charges an obscene amount, inflates his costs and is unwilling to discuss with the customer. His defense is the same with each customer - your house was the problem before he arrived. Don't waste your time. There are many honest, hardworking tradesmen in Minneapolis. Avoid this one. *FYI: He has two profiles on Angie's List - let that be a warning. There is a consumer warning that pops up when you click on the other business listing.*"

Fred’s Plumbing and Heating was founded in September of 1963 by Harlan “Fred” Fredericksen. Fred’s concentrated on providing personal service for people’s plumbing and heating needs in the greater St. Cloud area. Through the years he built a large customer base on new and repeat business. Today, Paul Fredericksen, John and Dan Strack, carry on his tradition of excellence. Fred’s has expanded with over 20 employees, 8 service trucks, and provides plumbing, heating, and air-conditioning services to the entire Central Minnesota area.
"Alex Fredericksen (the owner of this business) had done some work on the gas lines in my current residence. I had noticed a smell of natural gas and had it inspected right away by Xcel energy. 6 gas leaks were found. We had called Alex Fredericksen who came out to fix the gas leaks. He then told us there were none and left us with ACTIVE natural gas leaks in our home. We had him come out a second time to fix the gas leaks and he was very rude and unprofessional. He didn't say a word when he left our residence he just walked out and left. I would rate this business 0/5 stars. I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. Extremely dangerous and unprofessional. I am disgusted."

Yes, most states require a plumber to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Check our state licensing tool to review the local plumber guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Fixing a gas leak costs about $45 to $150 per hour for a plumber or gas line specialist. The job’s overall cost will vary depending on the location of the leak. A leaky junction or connection behind the stove or dryer will likely cost about $120 to $170. But for a leak that requires a gas fitter or plumber to excavate a pipe in the yard, the cost could rise to $1,500 to $5,000. Keep in mind that gas leaks are very serious issues, so don’t hesitate to contact a plumber or gas line specialist immediately.
Fixing a gas leak can take anywhere from one to 24 hours, depending on the location and magnitude of the problem. A gas line specialist or gas plumber should be able to give you an estimated time to completion once they evaluate the situation. If your city’s utility company works to fix a gas leak, it will likely have information available about the anticipated time for gas service to be restored.
The cost of repairing a gas leak depends on the type of leak, its severity, and how difficult it is for the repair technician to reach it. Some of the most common gas line repair costs, on average, include:
Cap a gas line: $75–$150
Gas system inspection: $150
Pressure test: $75–$500
Damaged or corroded pipe: $6–$7 per linear foot
Repair gas leak: $120–$5,000
A local natural gas plumber, gas fitter, or gas line specialist should fix gas leaks. Installing gas lines and connections improperly can lead to dangerous gas leaks and explosions. Only a certified plumber or gas line specialist should run gas lines. This is not a job to try out DIY skills, so hire a professional gas plumber or gas line specialist immediately to find the cause of the leak and fix it quickly.
