With over 9 years experience in the Home Repairs & Construction industry, Roost Revival is your industry expert in Scott county and the surrounding areas. I pride myself on my professionalism and attention to detail. My customer satisfaction guarantee will assure you we will not leave your property until you are completely satisfied with the work. As a family owned and operated business you can trust that I will treat your home as I would treat my own. Give a call today, I look forward to working with you!

"We have a beautiful outcome but we did 75% of the sanding of the deck and 25% of the patio furniture to meet our quality standards. We were told they were meeting industry standards which we did not believe. There were many late arrivals and even two no shows on the part of his subcontractor. The owner was responsive to our complaints but when he saw we could make the deck wood look new by dedicating time to sanding he did concede we were right. Based on the age alone at first we did not feel he agreed it could be achieved. After his subcontractor left we would go over his sanding even of the patio furniture. We were told all boards that needed replacement were part of the estimate but we had to find them, usually after our finger would pop through in order for him to finally change out all of the rotting boards. He took before and after pics, telling us after the fact for advertising, they are not accurate of his subcontractors work. And despite putting in a combined 32 hours of hard labor sanding, as the owners, we were offered no discount for how this all played out. His subcontractor did two things well, power wash and staining. But he used no eye for detail like we had been promised ahead of time. We will consider hiring the owner for future jobs if he does the work himself but never again with a subcontractor."

"We started a light remodel of our walk-out basement in the spring, and some removed drywall on an outer exposed a ton of rot on the studs, sheathing, and siding that isnâ t noticeable from the outside of the house. The original homeowners installed a deck incorrectly and water had slowly been leaking into the basement from the ledger and bad flashing ever since - about 15+ years. This wouldn't have been caught without removing the drywall, but it meant not only having to repair the house damage but also to replace the deck. This deck spanned the entire back side of the house (easily a 750 sq ft deck), so this was no small or cheap project. We reached out to well over 20 companies for quotes and assessment. Many of them we never heard back from, and just as many wrote off our project as too small or too cheap for them to bother with. Some werenâ t available for several months (understandable), and a couple never even showed up to their scheduled consultations with us. The ones that did communicate decently well were unfortunately far out of our budget for this surprise project. We called 4 Seasons last, because honestly we thought they just did bathrooms and kitchens but an acquaintance suggested them and we figured they wouldnâ t suggest them for the job if they didnâ t do work like that. Talk about a Hail Mary and a saving grace! We submitted our inquiry through their website and Steve was in touch with us the next day. He came out a day or two later to review the damage and the project, and gave us a quote for the work only a couple days following that. So all of this communication and information, within the same week. Thatâ s a big deal! We also liked that in his assessment, Steve really listened to what WE wanted as opposed to many of the other companies who just flat out told us what they would do, and left us no wiggle room for discussion. He was also very practical. Other companies wouldnâ t do anything less than pretty much replace the whole back of the house, which is truly unnecessary in every way for our project, whereas Steve looked at how to maximize repair impact and value while minimizing unnecessary waste while staying in our budget, and with full understanding and respect to current building code (he didnâ t cut corners to make ends meet). A few weeks later, Steveâ s team was able to start our project. There are a few different team members for a few different tasks, all directed by Steve who joined them on-site to go over the project details and requirements. The main person was Josh, who stayed on-site for the entirety of the project. He quickly got the rotted material out from the walls, installed new sheathing where needed and water-sealed everything. Our house was built in the early 90s and has no Tyvek or similar product underneath the siding to protect from water, so seeing that material in this â problem areaâ was relieving alongside other self-sealing water membranes around spigots, pipes, etc. They really put some thought into the longevity of this repair. Next was the deck replacement which took about a week since the replacement deck was still huge despite being half the size of the old deck, and there was no sacrifice to quality at all with such a fast turnaround time. The end result is stunning, and we could see every precaution they took to ensure we donâ t run into the same water issues as before and are left with a beautiful, practical deck that we donâ t anticipate having to worry about any more. On top of it all, Steve and his team are truly kind, personable people who exemplified professionalism. We were really impressed and are so grateful to them, and will be recommending them to everyone we know who needs help with a project."

Marble and granite services FAQs

Installing a marble backsplash costs about $2,200 on average, ranging from $600 to $6,000, depending on the variety of marble and the labor costs to prep and install. Common types of marble used for backsplashes include:

  • Makrana: $12 per square foot

  • Pink: $25 per square foot

  • Carrara: $40 per square foot

  • Statuatrio: $50 per square foot

  • Cultured: $65 per square foot

  • Travertine: $75 per square foot

  • Danby: $80 per square foot

  • Calacatta: $180 per square foot

Marble countertops cost $3,000 on average, ranging from about $2,000 to $5,000, depending on the type of marble, square footage, location, and whether you use tiles or slabs. Another major cost factor to consider is the grading of the marble, which determines its quality level.

Use this grading system when selecting marble for countertops:

  • Grade A: Nearly perfect with subtle veining

  • Grade B: Minor flaws such as pits, fissures, or blotches

  • Grade C: Minor and major flaws like chipping and cracks requiring repair

  • Grade D: Significant damage needing repair, with dark veining and pronounced colors

Granite and marble compare well against each other in terms of price, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Deciding which one is better depends on your personal style and preference. Both materials resist damage like chips and cracks well. You should seal both material types against staining and etching, but they’re still susceptible if oil, wine, coffee, tomato sauce, or juice are left on the countertop long enough. As material and installation costs range similarly, the deciding factor is your budget, design, and preferences.

Installing granite kitchen countertops costs about $3,250, ranging from $2,000 to $4,000, depending on the quantity and quality of the granite, use of granite tile or granite slabs, the type of granite, and its color and texture. Varieties of granite include:

  • Alaska white: $35 per square foot

  • Ubatuba: $30–$60 per square foot

  • Silver cloud: $35–$40 per square foot

  • Absolute black: $45–$60 per square foot

  • Black galaxy: $50–$70 per square foot

  • Blue Louise: $70–$100 per square foot

  • Crema Bordeaux: $80 per square foot

  • Solarius: $60 per square foot

Overall, granite tends to cost more than marble. Prices for each material will fluctuate depending on the source of the stone, your location, shipping costs, and the thickness of the material. Labor to install marble or granite countertops typically ranges from $35 to $45 per hour. Granite and marble tile and slab costs compare as follows:

  • Marble tile: $7–$10

  • Granite tile: $5–$15

  • Marble slab: $25–$60

  • Granite slab: $50–$100
