They finally showed and gave me the typical hard sell "if you sign the contract today..." They gave us a quote so far over market value we should have walked away. But we agreed because of the "70 year history in the industry" We thought we were buying a service from a company with integrity. They took an immediate $18K deposit on a $55K project. I know, shame on me for agreeing to such an amount. We knew we were over spending, but... One month later, they simply cancelled the contract without explanation and without any work on the project. This contract was binding on us but, in their words, was not binding on them because "there's a clause in the fine print that allows them to cancel" THEY STILL HAVE OUR MONEY and I STILL NEED A ROOF Stay away from this company. "We hired Unicorp to change front door because of superb review on Angi, but disappointed. 1. It's a small company using subcontractors to do its work; Contrary to its claim, those subcontractors DO NOT work exclusively for Unicorp. 2. After subcontractors got paid, you will not see them again for the job. The service team seems only one person (JR). It is hard to make an appt, since he has to supervise a lot of subcontractors' work, and only do service when he is supervising near you. Specific problems: -Ghost swing after installation (i.e. door swings to close by itself). Had to request adjustment at least twice. -Fainted finish after a few years while still in warranty, but we were advised to paint ourselves. -Very thin layer of finish, and very easy to get scratch to show white underline color; -Have PROBLEM to LOCK the door. After it was "fixed", problem showed again. -Subcontractor used wood with black stains, suspect mold, to install the door; Brand new door had minor defect."
