I interviewed three contractors for the job, all seem very decent, but what set Best Home apart was Jeff Segovia. He designed the whole layout of our basement (we love it) and oversaw the entire project from beginning to end. The construction crews were very polite and friendly. Best Home did an excellent job and very flexible with many changes I had and they completed the job on time (took 3 months and exactly 1 week)which was amazing. They did an outstanding job from conception through to the last details in finishing an extensive series of renovations - complete kitchen tear-down and renovation, master bathroom and closet teardown and renovation, two bathroom complete retiling/renovation, building two new rooms out of a very large basement, and replacing two forced air HVAC systems - they managed all aspects including proper construction permits. They did high-quality work at a very good price. They did an outstanding job with the work, with high attention to detail. Their communication was very strong from beginning to finish, their initial plan recommendations were excellent, they made several recommendations to not only make the job better, but also make it more cost effective along the way. They were reliable and consistent, and very genuine, "real" people. I have to imagine there will be very high demand for their services. I can’t recommend highly enough. Very timely, excellent communication, quick and high-quality professional work at a competitive price."

"Tri State was prompt—they had a tech out within hours when our 20-year-old HVAC broke down. The repair estimate was $800–$1,200, and they also sent a salesman, Mike, to discuss replacement. Mike was courteous and knowledgeable, but, when we sat down to review the quote, the sales process turned into a bad car-buying experience. They started at $34,000, then "discounted" to $29,300—$10,000 -$12,000 higher than other quotes for the exact same unit. Even factoring in their warranty, they remained $8,000–$10,000 overpriced. Mike also claimed they were a four-generation family-owned business, but I later found out they’re owned by Sila Services, a Goldman Sachs private equity firm—which feels misleading. To their credit, canceling was easy (though I hadn’t signed a financing agreement or put money down). Bottom line: Get multiple quotes. Their pricing was excessive, and the sales tactics felt manipulative."

"STAY AWAY!!!! This Company cancelled the initial estimate on me 3 times making me drive 90 minutes to the property each time. They finally showed and gave me the typical hard sell "if you sign the contract today..." They gave us a quote so far over market value we should have walked away. But we agreed because of the "70 year history in the industry" We thought we were buying a service from a company with integrity. They took an immediate $18K deposit on a $55K project. I know, shame on me for agreeing to such an amount. We knew we were over spending, but... One month later, they simply cancelled the contract without explanation and without any work on the project. This contract was binding on us but, in their words, was not binding on them because "there's a clause in the fine print that allows them to cancel" THEY STILL HAVE OUR MONEY and I STILL NEED A ROOF Stay away from this company. No integrity No responsibility Unreliable Over priced Will take your money and keep it"

Also great communication throughout the entire project. For our project they completed a little bit of everything. Opened up masonry doorways and installed new headers. Wood framing. Drywall. Insulating. Drywall finishing. Flooring. Trim work. Stair railing work. We did not have one part of our project that we were not completely satisfied with."
