Len The Plumber, LLC. is a leading plumbing and drain company serving Central Maryland. Our certified professional plumbers are available same day to assist residential customers in Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Cecil County, Harford County, and Howard County. Our knowledgeable plumbers have years of experience dealing with a wide variety of plumbing issues including plumbing repairs, drain cleaning, water heaters, well systems, heating systems, sewer, water, and gas lines. We’re open 7 days a week with no extra charge on evenings or weekends!

"UPDATE: My previous review still stands from a couple years ago for that specific plumber only - but my most recent experience has been a nightmare. Will never recommend this company ever again. They definitely have changed since my last experience. Not only did the plumber they sent (12/9/24) not do anything to make any effort to clear a clog ( I won’t be petty and provide a name, even though I should) - after signing agreements and I asked if I should pay now -he said I probably should so he could get started - I know I should’ve just sent him on his way, but wanted to get this fixed (astronomical for what was -or in this case wasn’t done- and was told that prices had gone up a lot since my previous experience). He also had to inform me that normally they send the new guys to do this type of work ( implying unclogging drains was beneath his “expertise “). Then proceeded to tell me he was convinced it was a collapsed drain (after snaking the drain for less than a few mins)and that I probably had water flooding under the foundation said he needed to get a hold of their camera guy to be sure - he went to his truck to call him came back in, about 20-25 mins later to tell me he couldn’t get a hold of their camera guy and left a message for him. He then said he would try one more time with the snake - did the same amount of effort as the first time and said we would have to wait until he could get a camera down there and that we would have to let the drain dry out a bit so it would probably be the following week. Packed up his stuff and said I should call him in an hour to see if he heard from the camera guy (why should I do the calling for follow up??) When he left, he seemed to struggle backing out and damaged our lawn (have security camera footage). I called the company the next day and was sent to voicemail (left a message that said I had some concerns but didn’t leave a lot of detail) and was told that I should hear from someone that day - I did not. Called the next day and was told by the supervisor of the phone people that the phone person should have told me it was 24-48 hours before a manager would respond and she would not allow me to speak to anyone else. I did not hear back from anyone in 72 hrs, so I called back and then was told that the manager was out (conveniently). I gave up calling them and called another plumbing company who fixed the issue in a short amount of time (no collapsed drain, just a good ol’ clog). Decided to call Len the Plumber one more time ( 12/23/24) 2 weeks AFTER my original call and was told that there was a note in my file that said the mgr did call 3 days prior to this call (there had been no conversation or missed calls or voicemail received by me - so either he called a wrong number or this was a lie) and in the notes the mgr (Brian, I was told by the phone person)stated that I was told about the pricing and that was it. Not sure where he got his information of what he thought my issue was, since I didn’t leave a lot of info when I spoke to the phone people other than it was frustrating to be told I would get a call in 24-48 hrs. This last phone person said she would send an email to all managers with my concerns and would hope someone would assist. No response. (12/28/24). Think twice before using this company. It has changed ownership twice since the original owner- history has shown as ownership changes in companies , so do priorities and not to the benefit of the customers."

Third Generation Cipriano Plumbing Figliozzi Ceramic Tile A Family owned & operated for over 60 years. We are a small, local plumbing and tile company whose roots date back to the 1950’s. As a Third Generation family business; we proudly continue to build upon the legacy started by our families. Our fathers taught us to work hard, be honest, and to strive for excellence. Our goal is to be your neighborhood plumber that is always there when you need us.

"Too bad this family has had 2 deaths in the family this year. In a review for this company for a plumbing job posted 7/15/19, the reviewer advised that he needed a leaky water pressure regulator replaced. He was told someone would come out to his house the following week, but no one ever showed up. The owner, Robert Figliozzi, posted a response advising there had been a sudden death in the family. On 1/30/19, I had a appointment with him to come to my house to give me an estimate on replacing ceramic tile in a laundry room. An hour or so after the appointment when he had not shown up, I called him and he said there had been a sudden death in the family. He did end up coming out later that day and the work was performed about a week later. The work done was so-so. There were pieces of tile that were not flush\level with other pieces. I know the laundry room floor (a concrete slab) was very uneven and he explained why he couldn't get the pieces flush. Several months later, I had another contractor install the exact same tile in a downstairs foyer and half bath, also on a concrete slab, which also was very uneven. This contractor used self-leveling concrete to fill in the low spots in the slab and he also used some type of plastic adjustable spacers in between the pieces of tile during the installation. Third Generation didn't do either. As a result, all of the pieces of tile in the foyer and half bath were even (flush) with all of the pieces of the other piece of tile. After I saw what the contractor who did the foyer and half bath did, I wondered why Third Generation couldn't have done the same thing to get all of the pieces of tile flush/level with each other."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Before finding the right plumber for your job, there are a few questions that you should ask, including:

  • Are you licensed and insured?

  • Do you charge for estimates?

  • Is your fee a flat rate, or is it hourly?

  • Who will do the work? Are they all licensed and qualified plumbers?

  • What happens if any breaks or damages occur?

  • What is your response time in an emergency?

  • Is cleanup included in the quote?

  • Do your services come with a guarantee?

Discussing these questions with your plumbing contractor will help eliminate future issues and clarify expectations.

Answered by Angi Experts

Endorsed by 46 pros

Yes, most states require plumbers to have a license, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Typically, plumbing repairs cost about $325 per job but can range from $175 to $4,000 or more. Simple fixes, such as a toilet repair, will be less expensive at around $150 to $400. However, if you have a pipe that has burst, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $4,000 or more.

The project that needs to be completed, the size of your home, and the type of plumbing pipes you have can all impact the final cost. External factors such as supply chain issues and shortage of materials all play a part in how much this repair might be.

A faucet replacement vs. a failed waste line flooding a finished basement would be at opposite ends of a very broad spectrum. "A plumbing repair" could range from perhaps a $150 minimum service charge up to tens of thousands of dollars for a substantial repair and associated cleanup, finish work, etc.

Answered by Dave Beck at Classy Craftsmen LLC in Cincinnati, OH on 01/09/25

Plumbing repairs can be complex. Often there is damage or breakage in areas that can't be seen without being examined thoroughly. Plumbers will investigate the issue and then let you know what to expect.

Answered by Lee Sentell at Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of South Orange County in Southfields, NY on 01/06/25

Prices can range from $60 to $20,000. Many factors determine the cost of a plumbing job. Things such as the cost of materials, size of the home, the difficulty of the job, travel time, contractor liability, would walls or floors need to be opened and repaired. All these factors and more can greatly affect the cost of a job.

Answered by Glenn Durand at Flat Rate Services Charlotte in Indian Land, SC on 01/13/25

Plumbing costs obviously vary from job to job. You can expect to pay anywhere from $225 - $400 for your average repair of a faucet or toilet. Frozen broken pipes are a much more difficult item to put a price tag on. The best course is to try to correct it as soon as possible: These tend to get worse rather than better, which means more costly. You will obviously be paying more for after hour emergency services, but time is of the essence.

Answered by Tony Coscia at TC Plumbing in Orange, CT on 01/10/25

Before your plumber pays you a visit, it’s a good idea to clean up any boxes, garbage, or other obstacles that could be in their way. In addition, it’s best practice to clean the area that needs to be inspected or worked on, like a toilet, for example. Make sure to keep kids and pets out of the way once the plumber arrives.

Answered by Angi Experts

Endorsed by 47 pros

The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350.
