Family owned handyman services. Licensed and fully insured. Quality workmanship. We guarantee it is done right the first time.
"Could not have been a worse experience. Hired to replace door hardware (knobs and hinges). Simple job for anyone. I was told by owner that "they'll make everything perfect ". Expected a few hours...it took two guys four hours by which time I just wanted them out. Checked things as they were working and pointed out multiple problems along the way. English communication was clearly not working. They did not know how to adjust doors by bending hinges (the correct way) and instead pounded on the door jams and sunk visible three-inch screws into one to adjust it. The front door was the worst and needed the doorknob hole enlarged by 1/8 inch. The solution was to use a Sawzall on both the knob and deadbolt holes - I wish I could attach photos here!! Ruined the door. It can never have a standard round knob again because of the hack job. Told owner, scheduled appointment. He didn't show and didn’t respond to texts. Small Claims Court is next to replace the front door. Don’t hire!"

Rather than hiring multiple service providers to handle each job, let My Handyman of Dover, Portsmouth and Rochester take care of them “On time. Done right.®” Founded in 1996 and served nearly one million customers throughout North America, we are known as a one-call solution for a variety of residential and commercial repair and maintenance needs.
"Company put in a kitchen tile backsplash. It was a lot of trouble and it came out poorly around the cooktop. They agreed to finish and fix it up but it was still not completely done after paying them good money for it. Also cracked a tile that's installed. I got fed up with them not getting back to me. They made promises they didn't keep and supposed to guarantee their work. I've posted a more detailed post on other platforms. They charge way too much and don't provide the quality for their prices. Except for small jobs I would look elsewhere. They disappointed me after much assurance. Be sure the technician they use knows what he's doing as they hired new people and took chances with customers who pay well for their services. Also promised to complete some crown molding but it was lip service. Kept saying they were waiting on some molding for us and it never happened."

Established in 2002. Bay State Property Services has over 30 years of combined experience in every phase of property build, repair, maintain, and service activity. We've seen it all - and we want to provide the benefit of our experience so that you can get the most from your home, residential, commercial, or investment property. In essence, every building has its own "personality," and benefits from someone who knows it well - from the basement up to the roof. Unlike many fly-by-night handyman services or contractors, Bay State Property Services' goal is to study your property so that from every repair or update we learn something about what to anticipate in the future - and to reduce the extra cost and delays of guesswork. That is why we seek to build long-term relationships with you and your properties.

We help families throughout New England childproof their swimming pools. With over 25 years of experience in the child safety industry, we install the Protect-A-Child Pool Fence because we believe it offers the best in safety, quality and construction. We take our work very seriously and our client relationships go much deeper than simply making a sale. We pride ourselves in our exceptional customer service. You can feel peace of mind knowing that we’ll be there for you from the first call through the completed installation.
"I had considered trying to do this job myself (well having my step-father do it), but after seeing a video review of the strength of the various "DIY" polls vs. the Protect-A-Child fence I decided to try and find a vendor to install it. I came across Susan and Jeff and am so happy that I did. They were really easy to communicate with, and offered some great suggestions that ended up changing the way we wanted to have the fence configured. Jeff came and had it installed in a half day, connecting up against an existing fence. Really happy we went with this company, any extra money over what a DIY version would have cost was certainly saved in stress and time."

We are a family owned company we have been in business for almost 20yrs making children's dreams come true for generation after generation and have expanded our business to have something for the kids and parents enjoyment..
"We hired New England Backyards to do a lot of work in our yard. We were hesitant to hire them based upon some of the reviews we saw online, but after seeing the quality of their work at our friend's homes, we realized that the person behind the reviews were not telling the truth. I don't understand why someone would post extremely negative reviews when the job was done and looked great. You can ask to see the photos from that project from the owner of the company. New England Backyards showed up on time, finished the job ahead of schedule and it looked amazing. I would hire them again if I need more work done."

In many cases, you can DIY home childproofing with success. You can purchase childproofing tools like cabinet locks, outlet covers, and table-edge guards and install them easily.
However, it's best to have a professional childproofing service work on larger projects like pool safety or furniture anchoring. These safety measures can take a lot of time and effort to DIY, plus, you want to ensure the tasks are done correctly to keep your child safe.
Many parents, especially first-time parents, agree that professional childproofing is worth it. These professional childproofing services are trained to recognize dangerous home situations that many people would overlook until it's too late. Furthermore, professional childproofing experts have access to top-of-the-line equipment you can't purchase at most stores, providing longevity and peace of mind.
A professional childproofer will first survey your home to identify potentially dangerous locations, including stairs, cabinets, and pools. Once approved, your professional will order and install the safety equipment for you.
Some ways a childproofing professional will make your home safe include:
Anchoring large furniture
Installing safety gates
Installing safety latches on cabinets and drawers
Covering railings that could trap a child
Covering electrical outlets
Installing a swimming pool fence
Removing or covering electrical cords where possible
The average cost of childproofing services is $410. This cost can range from $190 to $630 or more, depending on the size of your home and what services you need.
The location of the childproofing additions also plays a vital role in the overall cost. For example, a bathroom is relatively small and costs about $150 to fully childproof. However, if you have a swimming pool, you could spend as much as $1,500 to $10,000 to make it entirely safe for small children, including adding a pool fence.
The best time to hire a childproofing professional is at least three months before your due date. Although it might seem early, proper childproofing takes time, especially if you need extensive services like a pool fence. Getting your house ready now before your child is on the go only helps to protect them at all stages of life.
