I was getting ready to leave and received a call from the driver that he was down the street and wanted to measure the door. I told him I was leaving and he wanted to know if I had just 1 or 2 minutes that he was down the street. I waited 1 min. and he came up the road. We thought that we were being extremely responsive to the customer by showing up quickly to produce an estimate when we were close by. We also understood that the customer was actively seeking additional quotes and would give us a call back if we were selected. Regardless we provided poor service because we did not give the customer the attention that she wanted and deserved. A new garage door is a major purchase, and we should have scheduled a longer length of time to discuss this important decision with her. In addition, we should have shown the Member the respect and courtesy of following up on our estimate within a few days. We apologized to the Member, both over the phone and with a hand-written note, for our lack of professional customer service. And although we weren't able to provide the Member service in this case, we are glad that she received the professional service that she deserved.

They got back to me with a quote, and I think it was reasonable. We are deciding on what to do about that. I think they are a little behind the times because I got a quote in the mail from them. They do not seem to have like online. The guy that came here that quoted me did not work with e-mail or anything like that. So, it was a very slow process. Dealing with vendors that way right now does not seem to make sense.

It went very well, we were provided with a complete estimate on replacing our garage door opener and on top of that the sales rep was able to get our old opener to function until we can save enough to get the new one we want instead of having to settle for the least expensive option.

our garage door was making a real loud noise the morning of service. Then we were going to the store in the afternoon of the same day and the garage door would not go up even when we put it on manual. It was just stuck down. Since we only own one vehicle. We called overhead door and they sent someone right away. The spring was broken and one of the rollers was off the track. They were prompt, fast, and we thought it was going the extra mile for since it was almost closing time for them and the beginning of the week end. I can not remember what the charge was, but remember being surprised that it was a lot less than I thought it would be. We will deffinatley call them again.

Our solid wood two stall garage door was literally falling to pieces and stuck half open. We were fully expecting to spend over $1000 to replace the 50+ year old garage door and possible the garage door opener. I sent the provider an email via there website. They called me back within 10 minutes! Very prompt! They came out the next day to give me an estimate on a new garage door opener. It was quickly done and the price was very reasonable. I was able to set up an appointment for that week. They were prompt and very thorough. We did have some issues that I wasn't aware of (a bad spring and cables) that were able to be fixed while the technician was here. It took a bit longer because of that but we are very pleased with their work! It is such a HUGE improvement from our (very) old opener. We would use them again if needed and will recommend them for their prompt, professional service.

I called a day previous and spoke with John at Overhead Door. He gave me a quote of $165.00 to replace the torsion spring on my garage door and the cables if needed. His exact words were "All parts and labor." He also said that he should be able to have someone come out the same day. After calling back the following day, Lisa, even after telling her of my previous conversation with John, said that replacement of the torsion spring alone would be $165 to $225 and that cables would be an extra $45. The money keeps racking up!!! She also said that they would most likely NOT be able to have anyone service the door within the same day!!! Finally, I was not overly impressed with Lisa's attitude. Almost felt like she was calling me a liar! DISAPPOINTING!!!! I called their direct competitor and they gave me a quote of $125 to $150 and $0.20 a foot for cable. The cable will cost at most $25 dollars. HMMM!!! I would suggest you consult "Leichtner Door!!!" They seem like very good people and a LOT more timely.

This gentleman arrived prepared to do the work required and professionally carried out the services plus more. He was thorough, testing the opener to make sure it was performing as expected and then instructed us in detail, taking time to answer any questions. He was professional and knowledgeable. The installer also showed us we must be watching the part along the bottom of the garage door as it is beginning to wear and it keeps out the rain and snow. This garage is a double-car structure with one large door. We appreciated the fact that the gentleman had inspected the entire unit so closely. The door opener installation and testing as well as inspection and advising was worth the price charged. We will definitely use this provider in the future for any garage door situations.

Our garage door springs broke and we needed to be able to get our cars in/out of the garage without enduring hernias, but it was the weekend. No problem for Overhead Door Company- they came out right away and fixed our door without any problems. The pricing structure was clear upfront (good to know because it was considered an emergency call, which cost a little more than if we waited for a weekday, but a lot less than an Emergency Dept visit)! I would definitely recommend them to anyone and will remember them in the future when it's time to upgrade the door.

On the 4th of July my Garage door cables suddenly came loose and tangled and door would not open or close properly. Thought the door spring had broken. Next day called Overhead Door at 10 AM and told them the problem. Receptionist said some workers were off because of the Holiday but someone could come out that afternoon. Repairman came out at after 4pm and said the spring was not broken, just the cables had gotten tangled. Reinstalled the cables properly along with lubricating the tracks, rollers and chain. Answered any questions and explained what he was doing. He was done under an hour. Door works great now . Will call them again.

The spring on our garage door broke the evening before and was stuck open. We had to leave it open overnight since it was late. Called the place we had purchased the door from and they were not able to send anyone for another day or two, so I called Overhead. Called for a free estimate and the service rep said he would be at our home between 10-11am. I took time off from work to be at home and was aggravated when the rep did not show up -- especially because I asked him to call if he could not make the window he gave me. At 11:15am I called Overhead Door to tell them that the rep didn't show and that I was leaving home. They didn't apologize and actually defended the rep saying that, "I don't know why he didn't call. He had to answer phones this morning." Umm, not an excuse. And they won't get my business.

We investigated what happened, and the customer is 100% correct. We arranged for a meeting and did not show up at the appointed time and did not call in advance to let him know that we would be delayed. That is completely unacceptable service and the customer should be very upset. As a partner and CEO of The Overhead Door Company of South Bend, I personally apologize to the customer for this bad service. The sales person who was responsible was caught in some unforeseen circumstances at the office and simply did not follow-up, which is never an excuse for poor service. This matter has been addressed with the salesperson, and we believe that this is an isolated experience. More troubling is the experience that the customer had when he called back to find out why the salesperson didn’t show up. The customer deserved a direct apology regardless of the reason for the service breakdown. The rep believes that she provided an apology and wasn’t in a position at the moment the customer called to directly answer his question as to why the salesperson didn’t show up. Regardless, this incident has been the topic for several of our weekly customer service meetings so that it doesn’t happen again. As soon as we found out about the customer’s experience, we contacted him via phone several times to directly apologize and gain a better understanding of what happened. We also wrote a handwritten apology letter that was personally delivered to his residence. If any customer has felt that they have received poor service of any type, please call me directly at 574.259.2822 office or 574.315.8858 cell and let me know what we did wrong. We strive to provide superior service every day and can’t improve unless we hear about it. Again, I apologize to the customer.

This product is still manufactured, but is difficult to source ... often with lead-times of several weeks. We were able to convert your spring system on the spot with same day service to a system that any company can now repair easily. For our quick service and the parts to convert, the price is a bit higher. I also noticed that we performed another call at your house several days later for a broken garage door opener. In light the recent service on your springs, I see where we reduced our regular service charge to you. We hope that you found this acceptable pricing. the serviceman arrived on time and went right to work removing the old doors and replacing them with the new ones. he finished the work in a timely matter. he then cleaned everything up. my garage floors were cleaner after he finished than when he started. he showed me the features of the new opener and gave me some tips on preventative maintenance. he gave me my invoice, which was exactly the same as the quote i was given. he ask if there was anything more he could do for me, shook my hand, thanked me for my business and was on his way. perfect

Overhead Door Company of South Bend/Mishawaka did an outstanding job on my garage door installation. After a couple phone calls, I was able to schedule an estimate. During the estimate, the salesman was straight forward and professional, and didn't try to sell me more than I wanted (which was just a basic garage door to replace the much older one that was deteriorating badly.) When it came to installation, the installer did a fine job, and the project was completed without any delay, with all debris cleaned up and hauled away. I had to leave for a meeting before the installer finished, so he took care of locking up my garage after he finished, per my request. The door they installed is sturdy, secure, QUIET, and really attractive. Hopefully I won't need another garage door anytime soon, but if I do, I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Removed and hauled away old two-car garage door (16' x 7'), and provided and installed new basic white garage door, including new wood jambs, torsion spring, vinyl weatherseal and operator plate, plus new electric belt drive operator with 7' boom and 2 remotes.

We called for an estimate. Arrived the following day at the appointed time. Set up a time 2 days later to have work preformed. Workers arrived on the appointed day and time. Work was done quickly and efficiently. All our questions were answered. Very pleased.
Description of Work: We had our existing garage door opener replaced. It was old and noisy. we needed new remotes but decided to upgrade. We had a belt drive installed, and also an outside keypad. The opener is SO quiet. They came out for an estimate at the time we decided on and the service was completed 2 days later. Couldn't be happier. Everyone was very friendly and helpful answering all our questions. They were prompt and on time and the work was completed in less time than stated. Great quality and great people.

My garage door was not opening from the button on the wall. After googling about the problem, I went to Menard's and asked the guy in garage doors what to buy. He took me over to doorbells and said it was the same button. I installed the new button, but the door didn't work. I called Overhead doors and they sent someone out. Turns out the garage door opener buttons are NOT the same as doorbells, even though they look the same. He replaced it with the appropriate button. He was very tactful about my mistake, saying that lots of people would do the same thing. He said that I could have called their company and picked up a button for about $20 to install myself. Then he said he felt bad about charging me for a service call for something so little, so he did some general maintenance (oiling, calibrating) before he left.
