Both the sales rep and installer were professional. The installation was fast. The system needed an adjustment within a year which was covered under warranty. We will stay with Overhead door.

It went horribly. First, we called to do some troubleshooting because our keypad wasn't working. The process they put us through reset the entire system so not even the remotes or wall button worked; we had to pay a technician to come out for that and were told it was because one of the troubleshooting steps they gave us was wrong. A couple weeks later, the motor wasn't moving again so they said they could either replace the entire system or the circuit board. We were told several times that if we just replaced the circuit board and that wasn't the issue, we would get a credit for the entire amount (labor + materials) toward replacing the system. A few weeks later, the motor wasn't moving again and they came out but reversed their story and wouldn't give us a credit for the materials from the previous "repair." So we've spent several hundred dollars with Overhead Door and have nothing to show for it. We are going to hire someone else that will provide better service and actually follow through on their promises.

I contacted Overhead Door because my garage door had quit working, and I could not remove my car out of the garage. When I called, the residential service department was busy, and I left a message requesting a call back at the earliest convenience. They did indeed call back - two hours later. Unfortunately, I was unable to take the call so I called back a few minutes later. The operator told me that the person I needed to speak to was on the other line and for me to leave a message on his voice mail. I did so and still have not heard back over a week later. As far as Overhead Door knows, my car is still stuck in my garage. Additionally, I had Overhead Door out to work on my garage door opener twice over the summer - clearly, their ability to fix the door was lacking. It's great that they have so much business that they can't find the time to return a call and be able to turn down a paying customer. Rest assured, Overhead Door Company, I won't be filling up your voice mail again.

Our appointment was between 2 & 4. He called & said he would arrive at 2...he was here at 2 on the nose. Very nice, professional, and completed the job quickly. We were only charged for a service call! We are VERY pleased with all aspects of the repair and wouldn't think of calling anyone else.

IContacted Overhead Door and they sent a sales person to evaluate the job. John was very professional and explained everything to us. The installer was scheduled for Mon the 27th at 8:30-9 AM. He around 8 AM and was finished before 11 AM. He also was very professional and cleaned everything up. Would definitely use them again and also would recommend them.

All went according to plan. This is a reputable company and after talking to 4 or 5 of their employees, it is clear that they have a culture dedicated to serving their customers promptly and professionally, yet with a very friendly attitude. After many bad contractor experiences as a real estate professional (investor), I am willing to pay a little extra for such great service. I won't be calling any other garage door company in the future.

They were great--very professional from start to finish. After making the repairs and locating a second opener for us (not a common opener), they re-programmed a new pass code as we had just bought the home and wanted to change the pass code. Everyone we dealt with was great.

I used the contact form from within Angie's List. I included my cell phone and had a call from them in less than 2 minutes. This company installed the doors in 2007 when we built the house. We have had a couple minor issues and they have always been great to work with. Very responsive. Fast. Polite. Reasonably priced. We wouldn't go anywhere else for garage door issues.

The company had a technician out in 24 hours, which was wonderful since my husbands car was trapped in the garage. Shaman was our technician, and I have never dealt with a more professional technician. He was fast and thorough, he made sure everything was working, not just the springs! The door has never been working this well since we bought the house. The top panel was bent from the springs snapping and he patiently discussed options without once pressuring me to replace it. This company is phenomenal and many thanks to Shaman! Side note, we are replacing the panel.

I have been a customer of Overhead Garage Doors for a long time. On Sunday, July 20, at 4;00 pm, one of the springs snapped, making it impossible to lift the door. I called the suggested emergency number, got to as voicemail portal, left a message that I needed help urgently. Their yellow pages listing states they have 24 hours emergency service. At the time of this writing (Monday, July 21, 4+30 pm) no one has called. I had to call a different company, Precision, they came early in the morning today, fixed my door expertly and, if a little pricey, efficiently.

We are extremely sorry about your experience, Member. We dropped the ball and were not responsive in your time of need. Furthermore, we did not keep our own commitment for phenomenal service 24/7/365. After researching the problem, our Residential on-call technician was experiencing phone problems on Sunday evening. He did not receive your calls or your messages. We check the phone records with AT&T and confirmed that nothing was received on the phone. However, you then called our Commercial on-call technician. When you asked for help, he stated that he couldn't help you because he didn't have the parts and didn't know who the on-call Residential technician was. This is completely unacceptable service. The Commercial technician should have claimed ownership for your problem and committed to you that he would call a member of management to get you the service that you needed. We have spoken with the Commercial technician directly about our standards of customer care. This will also be a training point at our next staff meeting. We also apologize that you were forced to call a competitor for quick service. The competitor that you used is very responsive, but they have a poor reputation for charging customers amounts that are much more than reasonable. Not only did we fail you by not providing fast service, but we also caused you to spend more money than you should have. For your inconvenience, we have sent you a check for $237.38, the difference between what the competitor charged you and what we would have charged during normal business hours. This is the least we could do. Again, we sincerely apologize and we hope that you would consider us again in the future. Please don't hesitate to contact me directly for any questions or concerns you have. So the service person called today (Thursday) at noon, I biked home and arrived at the same time. He said I did a good repair but--naturally I didn't think of this--I needed to have replaced both the suspension cables rather than just one: when the new one stretched (duh!) the kit and the caboodle were off balance, and the new cable came off the winding drum, the torsion spring was now off balance with the one on the other side. Sprooooong! So the (friendly) repair person asked me if I wanted just the springs readjusted (covered under that $100 I mentioned before) or if I wanted to spend a further $45 to fix the cables. THAT was the logical option, so for $145 I have a very satisfactory garage door repair, on time, and for less than I was expecting to pay, AND I learned some good facts about this kind of door: torsion springs are coded to the height of the door; replace all the suspension cables, but this is the dangerous part so don't--like I did--tackle that job without knowledge. These people are good; they won't charge you an arm and a leg.
Description of Work: My garage door is of the type that uses torsion springs and cable suspension. One cable broke, and I did a good repair, but it came off the winding drum and upset the balance of the torsion springs. I could not lift the door, and of course the car was in the garage. At that point I decided it was time for someone who knew more than I, so my first stop was Angie. Tuesday I consulted her majesty and the clear winner in the "A" category was Overhead Door. I called; they informed me that it would be Thursday sometime, and I asked them to call me when they were twenty minutes away. The booking agent said they require $100 up front which is the labor charge. Fine.

I was happy with their service. I had a garage door with an opener and I think I had that opener been zapped by electricity. They didn’t have to reinstall the door; they just had to install a new motor. I had a problem with the spring being tangled up and making some noise, even after the motor was put up. They came out immediately and fixed it. They came back to fix the problem that wasn’t really their problem. At that time, they were the only one in the phonebook that was advertising.

Their website was a little difficult to navigate. I ended up going to their office but they didn't have a specific show room. I was shown samples and scheduled an appointment to come to my home. Order took about a week longer than anticipated but installation went perfectly and on time. The garage door is so quiet my dogs don't hear me when I come home and I actually have to look behind me to make sure it has closed when I pull in. The insulation also kept the bitter cold out. I'm very happy.
