Free onsite estimate

We are a full service fireplace and chimney professionals.

"Their profile says they provide free estimates. This is not the case. I called them first because they were nearby, but they still wanted to charge me to drive to my home and view the job so they could give an estimate. Who in their right mind is going to do this, or even choose to select a company that would expect this? For the cost of maybe $60 in gasoline, they lost what would have likely been a $15,000 job."

Your roof is your first line of defense against natural elements like snow and rain. That is why it's important to keep the roof of your house in great condition. Massey Roofing of Central Illinois offers a wide range of services that will address all your roofing needs. Our roofing contractors can handle any job no matter how big or small. From re-roofs to tear offs, to small repairs, Massey Roofing can do it all. Roofing is our only area of business, which began in 1979 and we are celebrating our 45th year in business! We employ 15-20 trained employees and are OSHA compliant. Call today for a free estimate. We still hand nail shingles for better performance!

"Beware, this company is very overpriced. They claim to not be the cheapest which is fine but they are the most expensive. Hand nailing does take longer so thats probably some of the extra cost. Beware they dont stand behind their work for very long with written warranty which starts at 5 years unless you spend even MORE on top of their already high price...Every other estimate I got started at 10 years workmanship with no additional cost"

Chimney repairs FAQs

Chimney repairs can take many forms for a seemingly simple structure, and costs can vary widely. Common chimney repairs include:

  • Chimney flashing repair: $150–$500

  • Repointing mortar joints: $400–$2,500

  • Repair or replacement of flue liners: $200–$7,000

  • Patching brick or stone: $350–$3,000

  • Pouring a new concrete top: $100–$3,000

  • Repairing chimney caps: $75–$1,000

The cost to replace the chimney crown or top is about $1,550 on average. The range varies widely depending on the size of the chimney, the materials used, accessibility, and the extent of the damage. If you suspect a problem with your chimney top, call a professional masonry contractor for an inspection.

Some of the most common chimney problems include:

  • Creosote buildup

  • Chimney blockage

  • Deteriorating brickwork or stonework

  • Cracked chimney top

  • Damaged flashing

  • Flue liner damage or deterioration

  • Damaged chimney cap

If you suspect you have a chimney problem, contact a masonry contractor for an inspection.

On average, chimney repairs cost about $455. However, because of the vast range of potential repairs needed, the cost to repair a chimney ranges widely from $160 to $15,000, depending on the type and extent of repairs required.

The cost to replace a chimney is about $10,000 on average and can cost up to $15,000, depending on the size, accessibility, materials, and extent of the replacement. Sometimes tearing the chimney down to the roof line and rebuilding it is an option. But if the chimney's internal structure deteriorates badly enough, a complete demolition down to the fireplace or the foundation may be necessary.
