I called them first because they were nearby, but they still wanted to charge me to drive to my home and view the job so they could give an estimate. Who in their right mind is going to do this, or even choose to select a company that would expect this? For the cost of maybe $60 in gasoline, they lost what would have likely been a $15,000 job."

Mike Porzelius (owner) of A-1 Masonry is a third generation brick layer and mason contractor. Mike has been working in the trade since he was a little boy. Mike has completed a 4 year apprenticeship and graduated to become a Journeymen Bricklayer and now has owned his own successful business since 2004.

"Beware, this company is very overpriced. They claim to not be the cheapest which is fine but they are the most expensive. Hand nailing does take longer so thats probably some of the extra cost. Beware they dont stand behind their work for very long with written warranty which starts at 5 years unless you spend even MORE on top of their already high price...Every other estimate I got started at 10 years workmanship with no additional cost"
